Claims
- 1. A switch head adapted to be attached to a temperature sensor, which includes elongated expansion elements with different thermal expansion coefficients, and to receive a device for detecting a relative movement between the expansion elements, the switch head comprising:
attachment means for attaching to the switch head at least one additional switch head; a transfer member for transferring a relative movement of the expansion elements to the at least one additional switch head; and at least one opening disposed in the switch head and adapted to receive the transfer member.
- 2. The switch head of claim 1, wherein the switch head includes a housing having at least a sidewall and the opening is formed by omitting the sidewall from the housing of the switch head.
- 3. The switch head of claim 1, wherein the device for detecting a relative movement between the expansion elements includes an electric contact switch.
- 4. The switch head of claim 1, wherein the transfer member is implemented in form of a ram supported for longitudinal movement in the switch head, which ram transfers the relative movement of the expansion elements to the device that detects a relative movement between the expansion elements.
- 5. The switch head of claim 4, wherein the additional transfer member is implemented in form of a ram supported for longitudinal movement in the switch head.
- 6. The switch head of claim 1, further including a removable cover for closing the opening in the switch head.
- 7. A switch head adapted to receive a device for detecting a relative movement between at least two elongated expansion elements with different thermal expansion coefficients, the switch head comprising:
attachment means for attaching the switch head to an additional switch head; a transfer member for transferring a relative movement of the expansion elements to the additional switch head; and at least one opening disposed in the additional switch head and adapted to receive the transfer member.
- 8. The switch head of claim 7, wherein the switch head includes a housing having at least a sidewall and the opening is formed by omitting the sidewall from the housing of the switch head.
- 9. The switch head of claim 7, wherein the device disposed in the switch head for detecting a relative movement between the expansion elements includes an electric contact switch.
- 10. The switch head of claim 7, wherein the transfer member is implemented in form of a ram supported for longitudinal movement in the switch head.
- 11. The switch head of claim 7, further including a removable cover for closing the opening in the switch head.
- 12. A temperature limiter, comprising:
a temperature sensor, which includes elongated expansion elements having different thermal expansion coefficients; a switch head which includes a device for detecting a relative movement between the expansion elements; and an additional switch head with an additional device for detecting the relative movement between the expansion elements, wherein the switch head is connected with the additional switch head.
- 13. The temperature limiter of claim 12, further including an additional module having a base component provided with a bore, wherein the additional module is placed over the temperature sensor by way of the bore.
- 14. The temperature limiter of claim 13, wherein the additional module is directly connected with the switch head.
- 15. The temperature limiter of claim 13, wherein the additional module comprises a resistor secured to the basic component.
- 16. The temperature limiter of claim 15, wherein the resistor is formed by a resistive paste applied to the basic component.
- 17. The temperature limiter of claim 15, wherein the resistor is shielded by a heat shield.
- 18. The temperature limiter of claim 17, wherein the heat shield is formed by a mass of the basic component.
- 19. The temperature limiter of claim 12, wherein the additional module comprises two electrodes secured to the basic component and forming an arc gap therebetween.
- 20. The temperature limiter of claim 12, wherein the additional module comprises a resistive heating element secured to the basic component.
- 21. The temperature limiter of claim 13, wherein the base component is made of a ceramic.
- 22. The temperature limiter of claim 15, wherein the resistor is an ohmic resistor.
- 23. The temperature limiter of claim 16, wherein the resistive paste is applied by screen-printing.
- 24. The temperature limiter of claim 20, wherein the resistive heating element is formed as a helix.
