Claims
- 1. A surveillance system comprising:
a surveillance assembly, including a platform and surveillance equipment mounted to the platform for providing observations of an area in a vicinity of the surveillance system; a base, including a hollow enclosure sized and adapted to contain electronics equipment for controlling the surveillance equipment and a power supply for powering the electronics equipment and the surveillance equipment; a substantially hollow support pole having an upper portion mounted to the surveillance assembly and a lower portion mounted to the base; means, disposed through the support pole, for functionally connecting the surveillance equipment to the electronics equipment contained in the base; and a current breaker disposed inside the base enclosure adapted to provide electrical power from a power supply to the surveillance equipment and the electronics equipment.
- 2. The system according to claim 1 wherein the surveillance equipment comprises a plurality of cameras.
- 3. The system according to claim 1 wherein the surveillance assembly further includes a power distribution box mounted on the support pole near the platform adapted to receive a power supply line from an external power source and to supply electrical power from the power distribution box to the current breaker from which electrical power is distributed to electronics equipment and surveillance equipment.
- 4. The system according to claim 1 wherein the base comprises a concrete structure having a weight sufficient to prevent the base from being manually displaced.
- 5. The system according to claim 1 wherein the weight of the concrete structure is at least about 1500 pounds.
- 6. The system according to claim 1 wherein the means for functionally connecting the electronics equipment with the surveillance equipment includes PVC conduit adapted to accommodate communications cable through the substantially hollow support pole.
- 7. The system according to claim 1 wherein the means for connecting the electronics equipment with the surveillance equipment includes wiring disposed at least partially through the substantially hollow support pole.
- 8. The system according to claim 1 wherein the support pole comprises a plurality of telescoping segments.
- 9. The system according to claim 1 wherein the surveillance assembly further includes a power distribution box mounted on the support pole near the platform adapted to receive a power supply line from an external power supply to supply electrical power to the current breaker for distribution of electrical power to a distribution box for distribution of the electrical power to the electronics equipment and surveillance equipment.
- 10. The system according to claim 9 further comprising an internal power supply in the hollow enclosure, connected to distribution box for providing an alternative source of power to the electronics equipment and the surveillance equipment.
- 11. The system according to claim 1 including a power distribution box adapted to be connected to an external power supply via a power supply line.
- 12. The system according to claim 1 wherein the electrical power from the power distribution box is supplied to current breaker for distribution of electrical power to the surveillance system.
- 13. A surveillance system for monitoring installations comprising
a secured base with a hollow enclosure which can be secured from an authorized entry for securing electronic equipment for surveillance; a hollow pole attached to the base having a surveillance platform on the top thereof, the hollow pole enclosure opening to the hollow pole through a hole in the top of the base; surveillance equipment mounted on the surveillance platform; an antenna mounted on the surveillance platform; electronic equipment mounted within the base hollow enclosure for recording data from the surveillance equipment on the platform, and for controlling operations of the surveillance equipment on the platform; and a wireless transmitter/receiver for transmitting data from the surveillance equipment and the electronic equipment to a receiving station and for receiving commands from the receiving station for operation of the surveillance equipment and electronics equipment.
- 14. The surveillance system according to claim 1 wherein the current breaker is a circuit breaker.
- 15. The surveillance system according to claim 1 wherein all external electrical power to the surveillance system passes through the current breaker to provide electrical power to the electronics equipment and surveillance equipment.
- 16. The surveillance system according to claim 15 wherein current breaker is a circuit breaker.
