DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION

With reference now to the drawings, and in particular to FIGS. 1 through 5 thereof, a new mattress device embodying the principles and concepts of an embodiment of the disclosure and generally designated by the reference numeral 10 will be described.

As best illustrated in FIGS. 1 through 5, the tent mattress assembly 10 generally comprises a plurality of panels 12. Each of the panels 12 may be positioned on a support surface 14 and the support surface 14 may be ground. Each of the panels 12 removably engages one another such that the plurality of panels 12 forms a mattress 16. Thus, the mattress 16 may support a floor 18 for a tent 20 thereby spacing the tent 20 from the support surface 14. Each of the panels 12 may be comprised of a resiliently compressible material thereby enhancing comfort of the panels 12. Each of the panels 12 may be comprised of a fluid impermeable material thereby inhibiting water from passing through said panels 12.

Each of the panels 12 has a first surface 24, a second surface 26 and a peripheral edge 28 extending therebetween. The peripheral edge 28 has a first side 21, a second side 23 and a third side 25. The first surface 24 may be positioned on the support surface 14 and the user 22 may lie on the second surface 26. The tent 20 may be a camping tent or the like. The tent 20 may be positioned on the second surface 26. Thus, the tent 20 is spaced from the support surface 14 thereby inhibiting water from entering the floor 18 of the tent 20. The user 22 lies on the floor 18 of the tent 20 when the tent 20 is positioned on the mattress 16.

Each of the panels 12 includes a plurality of tabs 30 and each of the tabs 30 extends outwardly from the peripheral edge 28. The tabs 30 are spaced apart from each other and are distributed around the peripheral edge 28. Each of the tabs 30 has a stem 32 and a head 34, and the stem 32 is coupled to the peripheral edge 28. The head 34 is oriented transverse with respect to the stem 32 such that each of the tabs 30 has a T-shape.

Each of the panels 12 includes a plurality of slots 36 and each of the slots 36 extends inwardly into the peripheral edge 28. The slots 36 are spaced apart from each other and are distributed around the peripheral edge 28. Each of the slots 36 has a first channel 38 and a second channel 40. The first channel 38 extends inwardly from the peripheral edge 28. The second channel 40 is oriented transverse with respect to the first channel 38 such that each of the slots 36 has a T-shape. Each of the tabs 30 is positioned in a corresponding one of the slots 36 of an associated panel 12. Thus, the panels 12 are removably coupled together to form the mattress 16.

The plurality of panels 12 includes a set of first panels 42, a set of second panels 44 and a set of third panels 46. The second side 23 corresponding to each of the first panels 42 has at least two tabs 30 positioned thereon. The third side 25 corresponding to each of the first panels 42 has a tab 30 positioned thereon. The first side 21 corresponding to each of the second panels 44 has a slot 36 extending therein. The second side 23 corresponding to each of the second panels 44 has at least two tabs 30 positioned thereon. The third side 25 corresponding to each of the second panels 44 has a tab 30 positioned thereon.

The first side 21 corresponding to each of the third panels 46 has a slot 36 extending therein. The second side 23 corresponding to each of the third panels 46 has at least two tabs 30 positioned thereon. The tabs 30 corresponding to the first panels 42 engage corresponding slots 36 of an associated second panel 44 and an associated first panel 42. The tabs 30 corresponding to the second panels 44 engage corresponding slots 36 of an associated third panel 46 and an associated second panel 44. The tabs 30 corresponding to the third panels 46 engage the slots 36 of an associated third panel 46. An outer perimeter 47 of the mattress 16 has no tabs 30 and no slots 36.

A bag 48 is provided. The bag 48 has a cut 50 to access and interior of the bag 48 and each of the panels 12 is selectively stored in the bag 48. A fastener 52 is coupled to the bag 48 and the fastener 52 may be manipulated. The fastener 52 is coextensive with the cut 50 and the fastener 52 opens and closes the bag 48. The fastener 52 may comprise a zipper or the like. A strap 54 is coupled to the bag 48. The strap 54 may be worn thereby facilitating the bag 48 to be carried.

In use, each of the first panels 42, the second panels 44 and the third panels 46 are coupled together to form the mattress 16. The mattress 16 is positioned on the support surface 14 and the tent 20 is positioned on the mattress 16. Thus, the mattress 16 inhibits water from entering the floor 18 of the tent 20. Additionally, the mattress 16 enhances comfort when the user 22 sleeps in the tent 20. The first panels 42, the second panels 44 and the third panels 46 are disassembled and stored in the bag 48.

With respect to the above description then, it is to be realized that the optimum dimensional relationships for the parts of an embodiment enabled by the disclosure, to include variations in size, materials, shape, form, function and manner of operation, assembly and use, are deemed readily apparent and obvious to one skilled in the art, and all equivalent relationships to those illustrated in the drawings and described in the specification are intended to be encompassed by an embodiment of the disclosure.

Therefore, the foregoing is considered as illustrative only of the principles of the disclosure. Further, since numerous modifications and changes will readily occur to those skilled in the art, it is not desired to limit the disclosure to the exact construction and operation shown and described, and accordingly, all suitable modifications and equivalents may be resorted to, falling within the scope of the disclosure. In this patent document, the word “comprising” is used in its non-limiting sense to mean that items following the word are included, but items not specifically mentioned are not excluded. A reference to an element by the indefinite article “a” does not exclude the possibility that more than one of the element is present, unless the context clearly requires that there be only one of the elements.
