Claims
- 1. A liquid crystal display device comprising:an insulative substrate; a scanning signal line formed on said substrate and extending in a first direction; a gate electrode formed on said substrate and electrically connected to said scanning signal line; an insulating film formed over said substrate and covering said scanning signal line and said gate electrode; a first semiconductor layer formed on said insulating film and disposed over said gate electrode; a pixel electrode formed over said substrate and electrically connected to a portion of said semiconductor layer; and an image signal line formed over said insulating film, electrically connected to another portion of said semiconductor layer and extending in a second direction, crossing over said scanning signal line, wherein said scanning signal line includes a first conductive film and a second conductive film superposing with each other, wherein said second conductive film is made of aluminum and has a thickness which is greater than the thickness of said first conductive film, and wherein a width of an upper surface of said second conductive film is smaller than a width of an upper surface of said first conductive film at least in a crossover portion of said scanning signal line and said image signal line.
- 2. A liquid crystal display device according to claim 1, wherein said first conductive film is made of chromium.
- 3. A liquid crystal display device according to claim 1, further comprising a second semiconductor layer formed between said scanning signal line and said image signal line in the crossover portion.
- 4. A liquid crystal display device according to claim 3, wherein said first semiconductor layer and said second semiconductor layer are disposed both as separate layers and as same level layers.
- 5. A liquid crystal display device comprising:an insulative substrate; a scanning signal line formed on said substrate and extending in a first direction; a gate electrode formed on said substrate and electrically connected to said scanning signal line; an insulating film formed over said substrate and covering said scanning signal line and said gate electrode; a semiconductor layer formed on said insulating film and disposed over said gate electrode; a pixel electrode formed over said substrate and electrically connected to a portion of said semiconductor layer; an image signal line formed over said insulating film, electrically connected to another portion of said semiconductor layer and extending in a second direction, crossing over said scanning signal line, wherein said scanning signal line includes a first conductive film and a second conductive film superposing with each other, wherein said second conductive film has a thickness which is greater than the thickness of said first conductive film, wherein a width of an upper surface of said second conductive film is smaller than a width of an upper surface of said first conductive film at least in a crossover portion of said scanning signal line and said image signal line, and wherein said semiconductor layer has a still further portion formed between said insulating film and said image signal line in the crossover portion of said scanning signal line and said image signal line.
- 6. A liquid crystal display device according to claim 5, wherein said second conductive film is made of aluminum.
- 7. A liquid crystal display device according to claim 6, wherein said first conductive film is made of chromium.
- 8. A liquid crystal display device according to claim 5, wherein said second semiconductor layer is made integrally with said first semiconductor layer.
- 9. A liquid crystal display device comprising:an insulative substrate; a scanning signal line formed on said substrate and extending in a first direction; a gate electrode formed on said substrate and electrically connected to said scanning signal line; an insulating film formed over said substrate and covering said scanning signal line and said gate electrode, wherein said insulating film is made of silicon nitride; a first semiconductor layer formed on said insulating film and disposed over said gate electrode; a pixel electrode formed over said substrate and electrically connected to a portion of said first semiconductor layer; an image signal line formed over said insulating film, electrically connected to another portion of said first semiconductor layer and extending in a second direction, crossing over said scanning signal line, wherein said scanning signal line includes a first conductive film comprised of a first metal and a second conductive film comprised of a second metal, different from said first metal, superposing with each other, and wherein an upper surface of said second conductive film has a width substantially smaller than a width of an upper surface of said first conductive film at least in a crossover portion of said scanning signal line and said image signal line, so that a stepped configuration of a side wall of said scanning signal line is moderated in the crossover portion; and a second semiconductor layer formed between said scanning signal line and said image signal line in the crossover portion.
- 10. A liquid crystal display device according to claim 9, wherein said second conductive film is made of aluminum.
- 11. A liquid crystal display device according to claim 10, wherein said first conductive film is made of chromium.
- 12. A liquid crystal display device according to claim 11, wherein said second conductive film is disposed, with respect to a plan view thereof, only in an area where said first conductive film is formed.
- 13. A liquid crystal display device according to claim 9, wherein said second conductive film is disposed, with respect to a plan view thereof, only in an area where said first conductive film is formed.
- 14. A liquid crystal display device according to claim 9, wherein said second semiconductor layer is made integrally with said first semiconductor layer.
- 15. A liquid crystal display device according to claim 9, wherein said first semiconductor layer and said second semiconductor layer are disposed both as separate layers and as same level layers.
- 16. A liquid crystal display device according to claim 15, wherein said second conductive film is made of aluminum.
- 17. A liquid crystal display device according to claim 15, wherein said first conductive film is made of chromium.
- 18. A liquid crystal display device having a plurality of pixels, each of said plurality of pixels including a thin film transistor, and a pixel electrode and being disposed in each of intersecting regions defined by two adjacent scanning signal lines and by two adjacent image signal lines, wherein:each said thin film transistor comprises a gate electrode electrically connected to one of said two adjacent scanning signal lines associated therewith, a gate insulating film disposed on said gate electrode and covering said scanning signal line associated therewith, a first semiconductor layer disposed on said gate insulating film, and a source electrode and a drain electrode electrically connected to said semiconductor layer, respectively, one of said source electrode and drain electrode of each said thin film transistor is electrically connected to said pixel electrode associated therewith, the other of said source electrode and drain electrode of each said thin film transistor being electrically connected to one of said two adjacent image signal lines associated therewith, each said scanning signal line includes a first conductive film comprised of a first metal and a second conductive film comprised of a second metal, different from said first metal, superposing with each other, an upper surface of said second conductive film has a width substantially smaller than a width of an upper surface of said first conductive film at least in a crossover portion of said scanning signal line and said image signal line, said gate insulating film is made of silicon nitride, and a second semiconductor layer is formed between said scanning signal line and said image signal line in the crossover portion.
- 19. A liquid crystal display device according to claim 18, wherein said second conductive film is made of aluminum.
- 20. A liquid crystal display device according to claim 19, wherein said first conductive film is made of chromium.
- 21. A liquid crystal display device according to claim 20, wherein said second conductive film is disposed, with respect to a plan view thereof, only in an area where said first conductive film is formed.
- 22. A liquid crystal display device according to claim 18, wherein said second conductive film is disposed, with respect to a plan view thereof, only in an area where said first conductive film is formed.
- 23. A liquid crystal display device according to claim 18, wherein said second semiconductor layer is made integrally with said first semiconductor layer.
- 24. A liquid crystal display device according to claim 18, wherein said first semiconductor layer and said second semiconductor layer are disposed both as separate layers and as same level layers.
