Claims
- 1. A compound having a general formula V ##STR26## wherein the C1 and C3 hydroxyls are positional isomers .alpha. and .beta. which may be the same or different in the .alpha.--.alpha., .beta.--.beta. or .beta.-.alpha. configuration;
- wherein a C5-C6 double bond is cis or trans and a C7-C8 double bond is cis or trans; and
- wherein C16-C17 is a single or double bond. and wherein t R.sub.1 is a substituent selected from the group consisting of substituents ##STR27## or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof.
- 2. A compound identified as analog LO, namely, 14.alpha., 15.alpha.-methano-1.alpha., 25 (OH).sub.2 D.sub.3.
- 3. The compound of claim 1 wherein the C1-C3 hydroxyls are in the .beta.--.beta. configuration.
- 4. The compound of claim 3 wherein the R.sub.1 substituent is V-1, V-2, V-9 or V-10.
- 5. The compound of claim 4 wherein the C7-C8 is trans and C16-C17 is the double bond.
- 6. The compound of claim 5 wherein the C5-C6 double bond is cis.
- 7. The compound of claim 5 wherein the C5-C6 double bond is trans.
- 8. The compound of claim 4 wherein the C7-C8 is trans and the C16-C17 is the single bond.
- 9. The compound of claim 8 wherein the C5-C6 double bond is cis.
- 10. The compound of claim 9 wherein the R.sub.1 substituent is V-1.
- 11. The compound of claim 6 wherein the C5-C6 double bond is trans.
- 12. The compound of claim 1 wherein the C1-C3 hydroxyls are in the .alpha.--.alpha. configuration.
- 13. The compound of claim 12 wherein the R.sub.1 substituent is V-1, V-2, V-9 or V-10.
- 14. The compound of claim 13 wherein the C7-C8 is trans and and C16-C17 is the double bond.
- 15. The compound of claim 14 wherein the C5-C6 double bond is cis.
- 16. The compound of claim 13 wherein the C5-C6 double bond is trans.
- 17. The compound of claim 12 wherein the C7-C8 is trans and C16-C17 is single the bond.
- 18. The compound of claim 17 wherein the C5-C6 double bond is cis.
- 19. The compound of claim 18 wherein the R.sub.1 substituent is V-1.
- 20. The compound of claim 17 wherein the C5-C6 double bond is trans.
- 21. The compound of claim 21 wherein the C1-C3 hydroxyls are in the .alpha.-.beta. configuration.
- 22. The compound of claim 21 wherein the R.sub.1 substituent is V-1, V-2, V-9 or V-10.
- 23. The compound of claim 22 wherein the C7-C8 is trans and C16-C17 is the double bond.
- 24. The compound of claim 23 wherein the C5-C6 double bond is cis.
- 25. The compound of claim 23 wherein the C5-C6 double bond is trans.
- 26. The compound of claim 21 wherein the C7-C8 is trans and C16-C17 is the single bond.
- 27. The compound of claim 26 wherein the C5-C6 double bond is cis.
- 28. The compound of claim 27 wherein the R.sub.1 substituent is V-1.
- 29. The compound of claim 26 wherein the C5-C6 double bond is trans.
- 30. The compound of claim 1 wherein the C1-C3 hydroxyls are in the Ha configuration.
- 31. The compound of claim 30 wherein the R.sub.1 substituent is V-1, V-2, V-9 or V-10.
- 32. The compound of claim 31 wherein the C7-C8 is trans and C16-C17 is the double bond.
- 33. The compound of claim 31 wherein the C5-C6 double bond is cis.
- 34. The compound of claim 32 wherein the C5-C6 double bond is trans.
- 35. The compound of claim 30 wherein the C7-C8 is trans and the C16-C17 is the single bond.
- 36. The compound of claim 35 wherein the C5-C6 double bond is cis.
- 37. The compound of claim 36 wherein the R.sub.1 substituent is V-1.
- 38. The compound of claim 35 wherein the C5-C6 double bond is trans.
