Claims
- 1. A flameproof thermoplastic resin composition comprising:
(A) 100 parts by weight of a base resin consisting of (a1) 40 to 95% by weight of a rubber modified styrene-containing resin and (a2) 60 to 5% by weight of a polyphenylene ether resin; (B) 2 to 40 parts by weight of a styrene-acrylonitrile copolymer having 5 to 18% by weight of acrylonitrile content; (C) 5 to 30 parts by weight of an aromatic phosphoric acid ester compound with a melting point of above 90° C., representing the following formulae (I) or (II), or a blend thereof: 3wherein R1, R2 and R3 independently of one another are hydrogen or C1-C4 alkyl, X is a dialcohol derivative such as resorcinol, diphenol, hydroquinol, bisphenol-A and bisphenol-S, and N is the number of repeating unit and is 0˜4, and 4wherein R4, R5 and R6 independently of one another are hydrogen or C1-C4 alkyl; and (D) 3 to 30 parts by weight of a phenolic resin.
- 2. The flameproof thermoplastic resin composition as defined in claim 1 wherein said rubber modified styrene-containing resin (a1) comprises 20 to 100% by weight of a styrene-containing graft copolymer resin and 80 to 0% by weight of a styrene-containing copolymer resin.
- 3. The flameproof thermoplastic resin composition as defined in claim 2 wherein said styrene-containing copolymer resin includes 20 to 40% by weight of acrylonitrile content.
- 4. The flameproof thermoplastic resin composition as defined in claim 1 wherein said phenolic resin (D) is a novolac.
- 5. The flameproof thermoplastic resin composition as defined in claim 4 wherein said novolac phenolic resin is selected from the group consisting of phenol-formaldehyde novolac resin, tertiarybutylphenol formaldehyde novolac resin, paraoctylphenol formaldehyde novolac resin, paracyanophenol formaldehyde novolac resin and a copolymer thereof.
- 6. The flameproof thermoplastic resin composition as defined in any one of claims 1-5 wherein said resin composition further comprises an anti-dripping agent, a plasticizer, an impact modifier, a heat stabilizer, an oxidation inhibitor, a light stabilizer, a compatibilizer, pigments, dyes and/or an inorganic filler.
- 7. The flameproof thermoplastic resin composition as defined in claim 1 wherein said base resin consists of (a1) 60 to 95% by weight of a rubber modified styrene-containing resin and (a2) 40 to 5% by weight of a polyphenylene ether resin.
- 8. The flameproof thermoplastic resin composition as defined in claim 1 wherein said base resin consists of (a1) 70 to 95% by weight of a rubber modified styrene-containing resin and (a2) 30 to 5% by weight of a polyphenylene ether resin.
- 9. The flameproof thermoplastic resin composition as defined in claim 1 wherein said styrene-acrylonitrile copolymer (B) has 8 to 15% by weight of acrylonitrile content.
- 10. The flameproof thermoplastic resin composition as defined in claim 1 wherein X is selected from the group consisting of resorcinol, diphenol, hydroquinol, bisphenol-A and bisphenol-S.
- 11. The flameproof thermoplastic resin composition as defined in claim 1 wherein N is 0.
- 12. The flameproof thermoplastic resin composition as defined in claim 1 wherein N is 1.
- 13. The flameproof thermoplastic resin composition as defined in claim 1 wherein said aromatic phosphoric acid ester compound is a blend of an aromatic phosphoric acid ester compound having N value of 0 and an aromatic phosphoric acid ester compound having N value of 1.
