Claims
- 1. A thin film transistor array panel, comprising:a gate wire including a plurality of gate lines and a plurality of gate electrodes that are formed on an insulating substrate; a gate insulating layer covering said gate wire; a semiconductor layer formed on said gate insulating layer; an ohmic contact layer formed on said semiconductor layer; a data wire formed on said ohmic contact layer and having substantially same planar shape as said ohmic contact layer, wherein said data wire includes a plurality of data line intersecting the gate lines, a plurality of source electrodes connected to the data lines and extending onto the gate electrodes, and a plurality of drain electrodes located opposite the source electrodes with the gate electrodes therebetween; a protection layer formed on said data wire and said semiconductor layer, and having a plurality of first contact holes exposing the drain electrodes; and a plurality of pixel electrodes connected to the drain electrodes through the first contact holes, wherein the semiconductor layer extends substantially along the gate lines and the data lines and has a plurality of cutouts located opposite the gate lines and located between the data lines such that each cutout separates the semiconductor layer into two portions.
- 2. The thin film transistor array panel of claim 1, wherein said semiconductor layer has substantially the same planar shape as the protection layer except for the first contact holes.
- 3. The thin film transistor array panel of claim 2, wherein said semiconductor layer has substantially the same planar shape as the gate insulating layer except for the cutouts.
- 4. The thin film transistor array panel of claim 1, wherein said semiconductor layer has substantially the same planar shape as said gate insulating layer except for the cutouts.
- 5. The thin film transistor array panel of claim 1, wherein said protection layer, said semiconductor layer and said gate insulating layer have a plurality of second contact holes and a plurality of third contact holes respectively exposing portions of the gate lines and the data lines.
- 6. The thin film transistor array panel of claim 5, wherein said semiconductor layer and said gate insulating layer have substantially the same planar shape as said protection layer except for the third contact holes.
- 7. The thin film transistor array panel of claim 4, wherein said protection layer, said semiconductor layer and said gate insulating layer have a plurality of second contact holes and a plurality of third contact holes respectively exposing portions of the gate lines and the data lines.
- 8. The thin film transistor array panel of claim 7, wherein said semiconductor layer and said gate insulating layer have substantially the same planar shape as said protection layer except for the third contact holes.
