Claims
- 1. A process for preparing a thiol methacrylate or acrylate resin consisting essentially of the steps:
- incorporating 0.001 to 5 parts by weight of a radical polymerization initiator in 100 parts by weight of a thiol methacrylate or acrylate monomer represented by the following formula (1) or a monomer mixture comprising at least 10% by weight of the thiol methacrylate or acrylate monomer of the formula (1): ##STR48## wherein R.sup.1 represents a hydrogen atom or a methyl group and X represents a divalent group represented by the following formula (b): ##STR49## and polymerizing the monomer or monomer mixture by irradiation with ultraviolet light.
- 2. The process according to claim 1 wherein said monomer mixture comprises at least 10% by weight of the thiol methacrylate or acrylate monomer of the formula (1) and up to 90% by weight of an olefinic compound.
- 3. A process for preparing a thiol methacrylate or acrylate resin consisting essentially of the steps:
- incorporating 0.001 to 5 parts by weight of a peroxide radical polymerization initiator in 100 parts by weight of a thiol methacrylate or acrylate monomer represented by the following formula (1) or a monomer mixture comprising at least 10% by weight of the thiol methacrylate or acrylate monomer of the formula (1): ##STR50## wherein R.sup.1 represents a hydrogen atom or a methyl group and X represents a divalent group represented by the following formula (b): ##STR51## and polymerizing the monomer or monomer mixture by irradiation with ultraviolet light.
- 4. The process defined in claim 1 wherein said monomer mixture comprises at least 15% by weight of the thiol methacrylate or acrylate monomer of formula (1).
- 5. The process defined in claim 1 wherein said monomer mixture comprises at least 30% by weight of the thiol methacrylate or acrylate monomer of formula (1).
- 6. The process defined in claim 1 wherein said monomer mixture comprises at least 60% by weight of the thiol methacrylate or acrylate monomer of formula (1).
- 7. The process defined in claim 1 wherein said monomer mixture comprises at least 70% by weight of the thiol methacrylate or acrylate monomer of formula (1).
- 8. The process defined in claim 1 wherein said monomer mixture comprises 15 to 90% by weight of the thiol methacrylate or acrylate monomer of formula (1) and 10 to 85 % by weight of a monomer having both a urethane bond and a methacrylate or acrylate group in the molecule.
- 9. The process defined in claim 8 wherein said monomer having both a urethane bond and a methacrylate or acrylate group in the molecule has a moiety represented by the following formula: ##STR52## wherein Y represents an alkylene group having 1 to 10 carbon atoms, R.sup.4 represents a hydrogen atom or a methyl group, and l is an integer of 1 to 3.
