The present invention is related to the technical field of construction systems, particularly to three-dimensional self-supporting modular structures, including arches, vaults, vaulted roofs useful for the configuration of various living spaces.
There are multiple state-of-the-art designs and configurations of prefabricated construction systems, along with their respective structural elements and joining mechanisms, intended to provide structural stability and resistance and to simplify the construction and assembly process of their structural components.
For example, in the field of patents related to the present invention, patent CA2988452 discloses a structural wall made of wood, metal, plastic, polycarbonate, or another resistant material that does not have diagonals or stiffening transversal blockings on its longitudinal axis, or alternatively a structure that is reticulated and/or articulated. This wall obtains the necessary rigidity through a structuring external to its longitudinal axis by way of different diagonal elements, fixed to the vertical structural elements or pillars to allow pouring or filling inside with materials that give this wall benefits of habitability.
On the other hand, patent WO 2011/117675 describes an invention consisting of a prefabricated volumetric module configured as a shipping container for shipping a plurality of contracted volumetric prefabricated modules, comprising means for lifting by a crane, and the volumetric prefabricated modules is set to store a plurality of prefabricated construction modules in a state that facilitates their respective transportation. Although the transportation problem is solved, the different materials are not specified, and the design is not adaptable to various configurations.
Patent WO 2012/035320 describes a foldable structure adapted for lodging and supporting at least one human being, comprising the following: a housing unit formed from a series of flexible panels, including at least one bottom panel and one side wall panel; one or more ground elongated flexible tensile elements that are connected to one or more panels; and one or more lateral flexible tensile elements that are connected to one or more panels, wherein the tensile elements may be attached to a ground anchor point. The living space generated in this case is for a single housing configuration, and unlimited disassembly and use are not guaranteed.
Patent WO 2011/103967 describes a self-assembling modular structure comprising peripheral columns with superimposed and separated upper fulcrums, wherein the rear portions of two series of crossbars hook the front ends to the upper and lower fulcrums of the frame central support of a control unit, whose rod is connected through a coaxial assembly and radial movable levers to the front extensions of the lower crossbars. In response, the rod rises and pushes the columns outwards, which move on standard wheels or roller, causing a rise in the center and “roof” of the crossbars located within the columns.
The patent application CN 103132630 discloses a foamed cement prefabricated cellular-slab type building wall. The hexagonal prismoid bodies made of foamed plastics are combined on a steel wire net. The screen of the steel wire net is in an equilateral triangle shape. A pyramid-shaped positioning box made of hard plastics is clamped on the steel wire net to perform the positioning. Thus, the honeycomb-shaped spaces can be formed among the hexagonal prismoid bodies made of foamed plastics, and the honeycomb-shaped building wall body is formed when foamed cement is poured into the spaces. The foamed cement prefabricated cellular-slab type building wall body can be used in all types of buildings.
Patent BRP11105882 discloses a method for manufacturing prefabricated houses from standardized plastic components, wherein plastic houses are self-supporting and prestressed, formed by an assembly of standardized pieces of recycled or non-recycled plastics.
The plastic components are lightweight and thermally and acoustically insulating, fire retardant, weather-resistant, and resistant to earthquakes, insects, UV radiation, and decay.
Patent CN 101812928 relates to an integrally unfolded single-layer steel structural integrated house. The integrated house comprises a room steel frame and a floor, a roof and wall bodies, wherein the floor, roof, and wall bodies are connected to the room steel frame; the room steel frame comprises a main steel frame, a left steel frame, and a right steel frame; the left steel frame and the right steel frame are movably arranged on the left side and right side of the main steel frame; the roof is hinged on top of the main steel frame; and the floor is hinged at the outer lower parts of the left steel frame and the right steel frame.
However, in the technical field of prefabricated construction systems, there is no evidence of effective self-supporting solutions that do not require additional structure and that are economical, waterproof, and that offer an agile assembly process. Under these conditions, the present invention solves the problem related to prefabricated construction systems through a self-supporting system with overlapping modules, using light and economical products.
As a first object, the present invention discloses a self-supporting prefabricated construction system that does not require a structure and has an arch-shaped configuration of different dimensions, intended for building living spaces and various types of uses.
The self-supporting prefabricated construction system of the invention is based on structural elements of modular type with the following configuration: undulating modules for the configuration of the various types of roofs that can be applied in different types of spaces, wherein said modules are joined in an overlapping manner to generate rigidity and stability to the structure, configuring totally sealed and waterproof spaces through different joining mechanisms. These curved undulating roof modules are of two types: curved ridge modules, whose size will depend on the dimensions of the intended arch, and curved wall modules.
The undulating roof modules are overlapped and joined together through a multi-level coupling system which guarantees total rigidity and impermeability to the system.
The system can have modules for different types of facades and interior dividing walls, which have a straight shape with obtuse folds.
These modules are interspersed with each other and are joined to the curved undulating roof modules through a fastening system, a “U”-shaped profile that fixes the geometry of the elements to each other.
The curved undulating roof modules have a thread-type fastening mechanism, that is, screws or nuts attached and sealed to the modules of the construction system.
The structural elements of the construction system of the present invention can be manufactured in different materials.
The invention offers a practical, agile, and economical solution for the creation of spaces with multiple uses (including, but not limited to, housing), sizes, and shapes due to the simplicity of the assembly of the system, so that the modules can be assembled and disassembled as many times as desired, without climatic limitations, since the self-supporting construction system can be used in the tropics, perpetual snow, deserts, and at any latitude.
The objects described above, as well as the additional objects that may arise, will be exposed in detail and with the necessary sufficiency in the chapter on the description of the invention that is disclosed below, which will constitute the basis of the claims chapter.
Regarding the Figures, they illustrate in detail and without limiting the scope of the present invention the following:
The present invention arises in response to the need to provide an effective, agile, and economical construction system that is easy to assemble for the construction of various types of completely impermeable spaces, including, but not limited to, living spaces with great resistance and stability, and having the characteristics of being prefabricated and self-supporting.
The description of the embodiment of the present invention is not intended to limit its scope, but rather to serve as a particular example thereof.
It is expected that a person skilled in the art will understand that the equivalent embodiments do not depart from the spirit and scope of the present invention in its broadest form.
For a better understanding of the present invention, certain technical terms used in the description thereof will be detailed below.
In the context of the present invention, the term “undulating modules” shall be understood as the structural elements that make up the roof (in the form of an arch) of the construction system of the present invention, and the term “undulating” shall be understood as the wavy, undulating, balanced, ribbed, or warped shape of said modules.
In the context of the present invention, “straight modules with obtuse folds” shall be understood as the structural elements that, in one embodiment of the invention, make up the interior or dividing walls and facade of the construction system of the present invention.
The three-dimensional, self-supporting, prefabricated construction system (1) that is the object of the present invention comprises a plurality of arch-shaped undulating modules that form the roof of the system; said plurality comprising a plurality of curved undulating ridge modules (2) and a plurality of curved undulating roof wall modules (3). Each plurality of said curved undulating roof modules (3) has a first plurality of coupling or union elements (5) of male-female type in opposite positions, upper-lower and lateral left-lateral right, in such a way that the coupling or union elements (5) located in opposite positions are complementary to each other. Besides, each plurality of said curved undulating ridge modules (2) has a second plurality of coupling or union elements (5) of the male-female type in their corresponding lower portions, in such a way that said coupling or union elements (5) of said curved undulating ridge modules are complementary to the coupling or union elements (5) located in a superior position of said curved roof wall modules (3). Finally and essentially, said curved undulating ridge modules (2) and said curved undulating roof wall modules (3) are overlapped and interspersed with each other and connected through said coupling or union elements (5).
In this way, the curved undulating ridge modules (2) are assembled with each other in an overlapping manner, forming different types of geometric configurations or sizes of spaces in the form of an arch, optionally living spaces, as shown schematically in
The curved undulating ridge modules (2) are joined in an overlapping manner by undulating joining elements through curved undulating flanges (7) at different levels, fitting into each other. The union through curved undulating flanges (7) has a mechanism for securing the curved undulating ridge modules (2) through a male-female coupling mechanism (concave-convex), inserting one module into the other. In a preferred embodiment, without this limiting the scope of the present invention, said insertion is made with millimetric precision.
The curved undulating ridge modules (2) can change their angle depending on the size of the arch that is desired in the configuration of the construction system, as shown schematically in
The curved undulating ridge modules (2) could additionally have, without this limiting the scope of the present invention, ventilation ducts for the extraction of hot air or as a ventilation mechanism for the interior space of the construction system (1), as shown in
The curved undulating ridge modules (2) and the curved undulating roof wall modules (3) of the system allow the creation of spaces of multiple shapes with complex geometry, thanks to the overlapping assembly in different layers, which enables modular expansion both horizontally and vertically.
The overlapping assembly mechanism and the geometric configuration of this invention create the necessary rigidity and stability for the structure, making spaces completely sealed and waterproofed.
The construction system of the invention presents a fastening system for its arch-shaped curved undulating modules (2, 3), i.e., a fastening system for the curved undulating ridge modules (2) to each other; for the curved undulating roof wall modules (3) to each other; and between the curved undulating ridge modules (2) and the curved undulating roof wall modules (3). The fastening system is embedded in the construction system (1), ensuring its rigidity and stability.
Both the curved undulating ridge modules (2) and the curved undulating roof wall modules (3) are overlapped and interspersed to give structure to the construction system (1). The curved undulating ridge modules (2) and the curved undulating roof wall modules (3) are secured to each other through coupling or union elements through curved undulating flanges (7). Additionally, said security is achieved by coupling or union elements (5) of the male-female type present in said curved undulating roof wall modules (3) and said curved undulating ridge modules (2). In this way, a coupling or union element (5) present in one of said curved undulating modules is inserted into another coupling or union element (5) present in an adjacent curved undulating module, as shown schematically in
The undulating flanges (7), as joining elements, can have, without limiting the scope of the present invention, a thread-type joining or fastening mechanism, preferably the nut-type assembly, coupled with a pair of coupling or union elements (5) present in the corresponding curved undulating modules (2, 3). In this preferred embodiment, without this limiting the scope of the present invention, said thread-type joining or fastening mechanism is inserted inside the geometry of the respective module and is secured through a lid mechanism (6), being the lid glued and completely sealing the thread-type joining or fastening mechanism, as schematically shown in
The coupling or union mechanism through curved undulating flanges (7) allows that, when the curved undulating ridge modules (2) and the curved undulating roof wall modules (3) are coupled, they are perfectly aligned with each other, transmitting the tension and compression forces of the arch-type construction system (1) continuously and harmonically.
Both the curved undulating ridge modules (2) and the curved undulating roof wall modules (3) can be assembled with each other through the curved undulating flanges (7). Furthermore, as an example and without limiting the scope of the present invention, the curved undulating modules (2, 3), in turn, can be coupled at two or more different levels of height, as shown in
In a preferred embodiment of the invention, the curved undulating ridge modules (2) and the curved undulating roof wall modules (3) are coupled at two or three different height levels. That allows to secure the structure and confer impermeability and stability of the construction system (1), ensuring complete sealing of the same without using silicone-type glue or any other glue.
As schematically shown in
The curved undulating modules (2, 3) for the configuration of the roof/cover of the construction system (1), that is, the curved undulating ridge modules (2) and the curved undulating roof wall modules (3), can be fixed permanently to the straight modules (8) with obtuse folds used for the configuration of walls or dividing walls and facade or can be removable (portable), without this limiting the scope of the present invention.
In one embodiment of the invention, without this limiting the scope of the requested protection, the straight modules (8) with obtuse folds used for the configuration of walls or dividing walls and facade are permanently fixed to the curved undulating ridge modules (2) and the curved undulating roof wall modules (3) or only to the curved undulating roof wall modules (3) through a glue. In a more preferred embodiment of the invention, said glue is of the epoxy type.
In a preferred embodiment of the invention, without this limiting the scope of the invention, the curved undulating roof wall modules (3) are fixed in a removable manner to the straight modules (8) with obtuse folds used for the configuration of walls or dividing walls and facade of the system through an inverted “U” shaped channel (4), as illustrated in
In any of the embodiments of the present invention in which an inverted “U”-shaped channel (4) is part of the system, said inverted “U”-shaped channel (4) can, preferably and without limiting the scope of the present invention, have a dual-lock type sealing system attached, as shown in
In any of the embodiments of the present invention in which an inverted “U”-shaped channel (4) is part of the system, said inverted “U”-shaped channel (4) can preferably, without limiting the scope of the present invention, be attached to the curved undulating ridge modules (2) and the curved undulating roof wall modules (3) through an epoxy-type glue.
In a preferred embodiment, without this limiting the scope of the present invention (2, 3), the curved undulating modules used for the configuration of the roof of the construction system (1) can be fixed to the floor through a fixing or anchoring element (9). For this, said fixing element (9) has a plurality of coupling or union elements (5), complementary to those present in the lower position of said curved undulating roof wall modules (3), which connect said fixing element (9) with said curved undulating roof wall modules (3), as schematically shown in
In one embodiment of the invention, without this limiting its scope, the curved undulating modules (2, 3) used for the configuration of the roof of the construction system (1) and the straight modules (8) with obtuse folds used for the configurations of walls or dividing walls and the facade are fixed perpendicularly to each other through a hinge system (10).
