Abstract

A Rash Guard which is a 3D rash guard with at least one depth component on at least one portion of the Garment or Outfit or to any component of the Rash Guard providing for a higher level of Character authenticity by the utilizing or adding of three dimensional materials either integrated or associated with or attached to and therefore significantly improving upon the role play and dress up experience of the wearer the garment or outfit incorporating texture, fabric, a greater involvement of the sense of feel so that more senses are used other than vision.

Description

FIELD OF INVENTION

The invention is in the field of water, swim, sport, beach, and sun, sportswear, more particularly Rash Guard and surfing Garments and Outfits that incorporate three-dimensional (“3d”) components and materials suited for beach, sun, pool, water, swim, sport, and water sports such as surfing.

BACKGROUND OF INVENTION

The Rash Guard category of cloths and sportswear has been around for quite some time. However, the present invention's Garments and Outfits can be styled, designed, and function as 3d Rash Guards. Currently there is at least one embodiment designed in each of the following demographics (but the invention is not limited to thee embodiments, designs, or demographics): a) for adults, b) for ages tween (ten and up) to adult, c) for ages 6 to 12, d) for ages 3 to 6, e) ages 1 to 3, f) ages 1 to 12, g) ages 0 to 6 months, h) ages 6 month to 1 year, to wear for any use (based on embodiment, design, and demographic), or specifically while swimming or learning to swim, beach play, sunning, surfing and other water sport activities, sports, and also can be used for dress-up and role playing to enhance the experience. These Garments can also include floatation as part thereof The rash guards can include printing to enhance the authenticity of the Rash Guard.

The current state of the art includes Garments that are full body, tops, bottoms, accessory items, and other devises. Some of these are Character Branded with printed Characters, logos, etc. These would be what we are calling Two-dimensional Rash Guards, where the material used for the Rash Guard, Outfit or Garment construction are single or multiple layers of materials.

The present invention incorporates integrated Three-dimensional aspects to a Rash Guard that make it fun for a person to wear.

A THREE-DIMENSIONAL SWIM AND SURF RASH GUARD comprising: at least one three-dimensional Swim and Surf Rash Guard component comprising in no particular order of the following; an athletic garment or outfit that is built from at least one of the following materials of spandex, nylon, polyester, neoprene, and/or lycra, in part or in whole, to ensure durability, and thus the garment or outfit is lightweight, quick drying, and flexible; that is naturally antibacterial and water wicking; that includes protection material for the wearer against rashes caused by abrasion, or by sunburn from extended exposure to the sun; has a light coverage in warm to extreme summer temperatures while partaking in watersports including but not limited to surfing, canoe polo, water survival training, jungle environment survival training, scuba diving, snorkeling, freediving, wakeboarding, bodysurfing, bodyboarding, windsurfing, kitesurfing, kayaking, stand up paddle surfing, or swimming; includes a material for prevention of wax-based chafing from sliding on and off of the surf board, on either the torso, or the legs; includes material that features protection from the sun (measured by its Ultraviolet Protection Factor); waterproof or water resistant; gives protection against jelly fish stings; helps prevent irritation caused by rapid impact with surface water and waves as well; offers protection against cuts, mat burns, and the spread of diseases; flatlock stitching, and six panel construction; said Flatlock stitching creates a seam where the seam allowances lies flat to the garment instead of hanging loose from it; made by adjusting the overlook or the thread overedge stitch; the said Flatlock stitching increases the strength of the garment for intense exercise or recreational activities; Six panel construction versus the conventional 4 panel construction allows the user increased mobility wet or dry; Four-Way Stretch Lycra—enhances overall flexibility and comfort; Super Stretch Waist Hem—provides you a simple, effortless ease of entry; at least one front layer; at least one back layer; at least one depth component on at least one portion of the Swim and Surf Garment or Outfit or to any component of the Swim and Surf Rash Guard providing for a higher level of Character authenticity by the utilizing or adding of three dimensional materials either integrated or associated with or attached to and therefore significantly improving upon the role play and dress up experience of the wearer the garment or outfit incorporating texture, fabric, a greater involvement of the sense of feel so that more senses are used other than vision.

Any one or more of the said an athletic garment or outfit that is built from at least one of the following materials of spandex, nylon, polyester, Neoprene, and/or Lycra, in whole or in part, to ensure durability, and thus the garment or outfit is lightweight, quick drying, and flexible; material causing the invention to be naturally antibacterial and water wicking; include said protection material for the wearer against rashes caused by abrasion, or by sunburn from extended exposure to the sun; has said light coverage in warm to extreme summer temperatures while partaking in watersports including but not limited to surfing, canoe polo, water survival training, jungle environment survival training, scuba diving, snorkeling, freediving, wakeboarding, bodysurfing, bodyboarding, windsurfing, kitesurfing, kayaking, stand up paddle surfing, or swimming; said material for prevention of wax-based chafing from sliding on and off of the surf board, on either the torso, or the legs; said material that features protection from the sun (measured by its Ultraviolet Protection Factor); said protection against jelly fish stings; said material that helps prevent irritation caused by rapid impact with surface water and waves as well; said material that offers protection against cuts, mat burns, and the spread of diseases can be the same material.

The invention can be used for dress-up and role-play or for leisure swim, watersport, and water-play.

The Rash Guard family of garments include but are not limited to rash outfits, rash garments, rash vests, rash shirts, Rash Surf Suits, Rash life jackets, full body rash guards , rash tops, rash bottoms, rash accessory items, and other rash devises.

The invention may include reliable sun protection that is officially tested for UV protection. The invention may have sun and rash protection are all-day sun and rash protection. The invention additionally may be comprised of Anti-Rash Lycra Material to saves skin from rashes.

The three-dimensional swim and surf Rash Guard may further be comprised of accessories, gloves, webbed gloves, at least one hat, footwear, goggles, masks, a snorkel, attachable appendages, permanently attached appendages, tentacles, body parts, at least one noise making device.

The three-dimensional swim and surf Rash Guard may further be comprised of at least one auxiliary waterproof or water resistant container and or designated volume of space to house electronics and/or other objects.

The three-dimensional swim and surf Rash Guard may include wherein said electronics is at least one of a sound module producing speech and/or music and/or sound effects, a lighting system producing at least one pattern of lights, a radio receiver, a walkie-talkie and/or at least two way communication system, a smart device and/or smart phone.

The three-dimensional swim and surf Rash Guard may be further styled as at least one of a character, cartoon character, a mermaid, a superhero, an animal, a princess, a fairy, an elf, a goblin, a witch, a wizard, eveningwear.

The invention can be a swim training three-dimensional swim Rash Guard.

Although preferred embodiments of the present invention have been described herein it will be understood by those skilled in the art that the present invention should not be limited to the described preferred embodiments, Rather, various changes and modifications can be made within the spirit and scope of the present invention.

DEFINITIONS

Outfit: is a set of clothing that goes well together.

Character Branded Outfit: is an Outfit that has in at least one location an image or motif of a Character.

Garment: is an item of clothing.

Character branded Garment: is a Garment that has in at least one location an image or motif of a Character.

Character Branded Product; is a Character's image printed or integrated on or in a product.

Rash Guard:

A rash guard, also known as rash vest or rashie, is an athletic garment or outfit made of material of lycra, spandex , nylon or polyester. The name rash guard reflects the fact that the garment protects the wearer against rashes caused by abrasion, or by sunburn from extended exposure to the sun. These garments, outfits, or shirts can be worn by themselves, or under a wetsuit. A rash guard by itself is used for light coverage in warm to extreme summer temperatures for several water sports including but not limited to surfing, canoe polo, water survival training, jungle environment survival training (JEST), scuba diving, snorkeling, free diving, wakeboarding, bodysurfing, body boarding, windsurfing, kite surfing, kayaking, stand up paddle surfing, or swimming. There are also lower body rash guards, which are similar to compression shorts to be worn under the surfers' board shorts, but more specialized for surfers.

Rash guards are often worn in surfing when the weather is too warm for a wetsuit, and to prevent wax-based chafing from sliding on and off of the surf board, on either the torso, or the legs. A surfboard's wax holds sand from the beach that could rub against a surfer's torso while paddling out to the break, or legs while sitting atop one's board.

Rash guards also offer protection from the sun (measured by its Ultraviolet Protection Factor) and slight protection against jelly fish stings and are sometimes worn under wetsuits to prevent chafing. A rash guard helps to prevent irritation caused by rapid impact with surface water and waves as well.

Rash guards are thought to have originated in Australia, where they are commonly referred to as “rashies” or “rashys.” Variations of the rash guard have made their way into other sports including baseball, American football, water polo, Brazilian jiu-jitsu, and mixed martial arts. Athletes who wear rash guards seek protection against cuts, mat bums, and the spread of diseases.

Other important components of a rash guard include flatlock stitching, and six panel construction. Flatlock stitching creates a seam where the seam allowances lies flat to the garment instead of hanging loose from it. It is made by adjusting the overlock or the thread overedge stitch. Flatlock stitching increases the strength of the garment for intense exercise or recreational activities. Six panel construction versus the conventional 4 panel tee shirt construction allows the user increased mobility wet or dry.

The combination of products used to construct a rash guard include the use of nylon and spandex create a garment that is lightweight, quick drying, flexible, durable, naturally antibacterial and water wicking.

Printed Rash Guard: is a Two-dimensional Rash Guard with printing forming a Rash Guard and/or components of a Rash Guard,

Two-dimensional Rash Guard: a Rash Guard made from material with no particular attention to any portion of the Rash Guard that touches human skin being thicker than one or more layers of material.

A Two-dimensional Rash Guard may have attached objects that add to the thickness of the material, but there is no particular design imperative to encase a volume of space to either enhance the three-dimensional appearance of the wearer or to create a low-density volume that can provide buoyancy as well as three-dimensionally enhancing the authenticity of the Rash Guard as with a three-dimensional Swim and Surf Rash Guard.

Two Dimensional Printed Rash Guard: at least one Outfit or Garment transformed to a two dimensional Character Rash Guard by the printing forming the image or images necessary to create a level of authenticity together forming the Rash Guard and/or components of the Rash Guard.

Character: is a known or unknown animated image, a cartoon or comic image, a living or deceased celebrity, a superhero, a monster, an alien, a fictional being, a real or imaginary animal, person, place, or thing.

Printing: in the context of this invention is printing on material or fabric, embossing, silk-screening or other method of applying an image on material or fabric used in a Garment, Outfit, or Rash Guard.

Three-dimensional Swim and Surf Rash Guard: everything a Two-dimensional Rash Guard is with the addition of at least one depth component to at least one portion of the Garment and/or Outfit and/or Rash Guard and/or components of the Rash Guard. A Three-dimensional Rash

Guard is a Rash Guard that provides for a higher level of Character authenticity by the utilizing or adding of three dimensional materials either integrated or associated with or attached to. A three-dimensional Rash Guard significantly improves upon the role play and dress up experience incorporating texture, fabric, a greater involvement of the sense of feel so that more senses are used other than vision.

3D Swim and Surf Rash Guard:

Are Rash Guards you wear to make yourself look like something or someone and/or if you're dressing up to affect a personality or you are playing a role. A 3D Swim and Surf Rash Guard can also be a reproduction of a Character incorporating a level of authenticity either within or upon a Garment or Outfit or a Garment or Outfit with at least one accessory. A 3D Swim and Surf Rash Guard can have variable levels of authenticity depending on context and usage.

Three-dimensional Swim and Surf Rash Guard: Is a Three-dimensional Rash Guard designed to include swimming, water, beach, sun, outdoor, sport, and water play use which may incorporate fabric and materials that are in whole or in part waterproof or water resistant, Three-dimensional Swim and surf Rash Guard is also sometimes called a Three-dimensional Swimming Rash Guard.

The Rash Guard family of garments include but is not limited to rash outfits, rash garments, rash vests, rash shirts, Rash Surf Suits, Rash life jackets, full body rash guards, rash tops, rash bottoms, rash accessory items, and other rash devises.

Three-dimensional Swim Rash Guard and System: Is a Three-dimensional Rash Guard and System designed to include swimming, water, and water play use which may incorporate fabric and materials that are in whole or in part waterproof or water resistant.

As used herein, the term “and/or,” when used in a list of two or more items, means that any one of the listed items can be employed by itself, or any combination of two or more of the listed items can be employed. For example, if a device is described as containing components A, B, and/or C, the composition can contain A alone; 13 alone; C alone; A and 13 in combination; A and C in combination; 13 and C in combination; or A, B, and C in combination.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS

Rash guard top shirt 1 and rash guard bottom pant 2 together form rash guard outfit 20 in FIGS. 1 and 2. Rash guard top shirt 1 and rash guard bottom pant 2 of rash guard outfit 20 are a spandex/polyester type material. Rash guard outfit 20 in FIGS. 1 and 2 is an example of a three-dimensional dragon character created by the three-dimensional swim and surf rash guard of the invention. It has dragon scales 25 on the arms 3 and torso 4 of the rash guard top shirt 1. It has additional dragon scales 25 on the rash guard bottom pant 2. It also has a dragon tail 28 on the back of the rash guard top shirt 1 shown in the view in FIG. 2.

The 1-piece rash guard suit 10 in FIGS. 3 and 4 is shown with optional zipper 15 on the front (in front view FIG. 3) for ease of taking the rash guard suit on and off The rash guard suit 10 in FIGS. 3 and 4 is an example of a three-dimensional shark character created by the three-dimensional swim and surf rash guard of the invention. It has shark fins 30 on the sides of the torso 6 and legs 7 of the rash guard suit 10. It also has a dorsal fin 36 on the back of the rash guard suit 10, as shown in the view in FIG. 4.

Some of the purposes or uses for a rash guard? Rash guards provide SPF protection and a little warmth and also when you get out of the water, they usually dry quicker than just a normal shirt. Body surfing or boogie boarding without a shirt, you end up with a pretty nasty rash on your belly that's why they call them rash guards—they protect the skin from being rubbed raw by the sand/salt. The tight fit of a rash guard is what prevents sand from getting between your skin and your board. Suffers also wear them under their wetsuits to aid in getting them on and off. Rash guards for waxed boards. Same thing for board Rash Shorts. You wax the board to make it tacky so your feet stick, but it also makes your belly stick when paddling out, or your thighs when straddling the board. Rash Jams and rashies put something between your skin and the wax. It's also great for your kids. You don't have to worry about applying (and then re-applying later on) sunblock. In the ocean because I sun burn so easily. It was nice not to have to stress out about my back and shoulders while snorkeling. The majority of sand settles to the ground, but moving currents “churns” a portion of sand particles. When those particles move between two fixed objects (a body and a board) . . . cause for friction. You don't have those issues in a pool, but it makes sense that irritants moving in a substance requires protection.

The invention of claim 1 whereby any one or more of the said an athletic garment or outfit that is built from at least one of the following materials of spandex, nylon, polyester, and/or lycra, in whole or in part, to ensure durability, and thus the garment or outfit is lightweight, quick drying, and flexible; material causing the invention to be naturally antibacterial and water wicking; include said protection material for the wearer against rashes caused by abrasion, or by sunburn from extended exposure to the sun; has said light coverage in warm to extreme summer temperatures while partaking in watersports including but not limited to surfing, canoe polo, water survival training, jungle environment survival training, scuba diving, snorkeling, freediving, wakeboarding, bodysurfing, bodyboarding, windsurfing, kitesurfing, kayaking, stand up paddle surfing, or swimming; said material for prevention of wax-based chafing from sliding on and off of the surf board, on either the torso, or the legs; said material that features protection from the sun (measured by its Ultraviolet Protection Factor); said protection against jelly fish stings; said material that helps prevent irritation caused by rapid impact with surface water and waves as well; said material that offers protection against cuts, mat burns, and the spread of diseases can be the same material.

3. The three-dimensional swim Rash Guard and system of claim 1 wherein said invention is used for dress-up and role-play or for leisure swim, watersport and sport, beach, backyard, sun, sunning, sunwear, and water-play.

The Rash Guard family of garments include rash outfits, rash garments, rash vests, rash shirts, rash bottoms, rash tops, rash cover-ups, Surf Suits, Rash life jackets and vests (with neoprene in whole or in part), Rash Surf Suits, full body rash guards , rash tops, rash bottoms, rash accessory items, and other rash devises.

5. The invention of claim 1 includes reliable sun protection that is officially tested for UV protection.

6. The invention of claim 1 wherein the said sun and rash protection are all-day sun and rash protection.

7. The invention of claim 1 additionally comprising of Anti-Rash Lycra Material to saves skin from rashes.

8. The three-dimensional swim and surf Rash Guard claim 1 further comprising of accessories, gloves, webbed gloves, at least one hat, footwear, goggles, masks, a snorkel, attachable appendages, permanently attached appendages, tentacles, body parts, at least one noise making device.
