Abstract
The invention proposed offers an average surfer a variety of usage in a surfboard bag. The three lengths offered in this one multi purpose bag can accommodate several lengths of surfboards pending on the preference of the day's surf forecast. The all in one usage claims to offer ease in handling different board sizes while offering added protection to shorter board lengths when tucked within the main body of the bag.
Description

[0001] The following invention was developed to accommodate an individual for multi-purpose usage of a surfboard bag. The particular bag accommodates a surfboard of 6 feet in length to a size of 7 feet/7 inches. The variety of size lengths come in three sizes from the 6 feet length, 6 feet/9 inches and the longest length being at 7 feet/7 inches.

[0002] Each Board is enclosed by a 28 inch nylon tooth, heavy duty zipped closure. The longest length allows for a wider zipped closure of 30 inches to accommodate the added bulk of fabric. The Surfboard Bag has a width of 22 inches with a nose protection at the tip of the bag, 3 inches in height and 7½ inches in width. This is primarily for the protection of the pointed nose of the board should it be dented or crushed with excessive handling.

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

[0006] 1. Field of Invention

[0007] This invention is related to multi usage of a board protective cover.

[0008] 2. Background of the Invention

[0009] In order to protect a surfboard, a covering or protective shield or carry case is needed to prevent any depressions on the board's surface that may adversely effect the sport of surfing while riding a wave. The following invention was designed to foster the protection of a surfboard while not in use in the water. During these times an individual will have his or her surfboard stored in a secure and safe dry area with some kind of covering to protect its surface.

[0010] On the market there are “sock bag” surfboard covers that have been a familiar item for board riders to purchase, however the distinct feature to this invention is that its usage is multi purpose. The average surfer will most times own more than one board pending on his or her experience and familiarity with surfing different types of waves and surf sites. An individual may therefore purchase one board bag to accommodate several boards they may have at a higher cost value but a lengthy (lifetime) usage of the board bag is possible for many who enjoy the sport.

[0011] Additionally, while usage of each selected size board bag may be convenient for the individual, the bag allows extra protection and variety for the shorter boards as the layers not in use are tucked in the inside of the bag adding an added layer of protection.

SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

[0012] The Three in One Board Bag allows flexibility and protection of one's surfboards while allowing the enjoyment of owning several sizes of boards in one protective device. The varied sizes allow for added protection and cushion to the surface of the board pending on the size used for that particular surf site.

BRIEF DESCRIPTIONS OF THE INVENTION

[0013] 1. FIG. 1 is a full view of the entire length and width of the surfboard bag

[0014] 2. FIG. 1A is a close-up view of the three zippered openings of the bag at 28″ for the top two openings and a 30″ opening for the bottom opening to accommodate the 22″ width allowed for the surfboard to slide in.

[0015] 3. FIG. 1B is a back view of the three sizes allowable for a surfboard

[0016] 4. FIG. 2 is a frontal view of the particular nose protection for the tip of the surfboard

DETAIL DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION

[0017]
FIG. 1. illustrates the full body of the board bag. The length allowed and most commonly used are; 6 feet at the first opening, 6 feet/9 inches at the second opening and the 7 feet opening. These lengths will accommodate most skilled surfers riding a smaller wave. The width allowed is a 22″ width for the average board with an allowable depth of up to 2 inches which is more than sufficient.

[0018]
FIG. 1A. provides a top view of the three openings of the board bag. The first two openings allows for a 28″ zipper opening while the last or bottom opening allows for a 30″ opening for the board bag.

[0019]
FIG. 1B. illustrates the length size and how a surfboard can be accommodated for this particular board at the 6′9″ length. As illustrated the sufficient added width for the surfboard allows for easy access while sliding boards in and out of bags with general ease.

[0020]
FIG. 2. points out the “nose” of the board with the additional protection of a polyurethane fabric. It covers an area 3 inches in height and 7½ inches in width from the point of the board bag. This protection is allowed to excessive handling and storage while surfboard is in and out of usage to and from the surf sites.

[0021]
FIG. 3. Lastly, this view provides a back view of a 6′0 board and how the extra zippered openings can be stored into the top opening while providing additional protection. From the illustration one is unable to tell that there are two additional sizes available to use for two other board lengths. The board slides in and zipped closed with ease.
