Now referring to the drawings submitted herewith, the throwing game 100 includes a target member 10 and a throwing member 20 illustrated herein in
The throwing member 20 of the throwing game 100 is triangular in shape in a preferred embodiment. The throwing member 20 is manufactured from a rigid material such as but not limited to metal. An outer covering 21 covers each portion of the throwing member 20 and is manufactured from a cloth or similar material. In a preferred embodiment of the present invention the throwing member 20 has a weight between twenty-five and thirty-two grams. It should be understood within the scope of the present invention that the throwing member 20 could be provided in a weight greater than or less than the weight referenced herein.
Referring in particular to
In step 305, the players will initiate the first round of play. In a round of play, the players will each have five consecutive tosses of the throwing member 20 from the designated distance. Dependent upon the final landing point of the throwing member 20 the player may move distances. If a player lands at least one throwing member 20 in the internal area 16 then the player stays at that distance on their next turn. If a players lands a throwing member 20 in the inner target member 18 the player advances to the next designated distance wherein the rules of play provide two options. A first option subsequent landing a throwing member 20 within the inner target member 18 is the player ends their turn rotations and remains at the new distance forfeiting any remaining tosses of the five allowed. An additional option is the player throws their remaining throwing members 20 from the next distance to which they advanced as a result of landing the throwing member 20 in the inner target member 18. In order to remain at the new distance at least one of their remaining tosses must result in landing of the throwing member 20 in the internal area 16. Failure to achieve this will result in the player having to return to the previous distance. Additionally, if the player tosses a throwing member 20 into the inner target member 18 at the new distance the player can repeat the aforementioned rules and advance to the next distance or end their turn.
In step 307, the first player engages in a round of play in accordance with the rules discussed herein. In step 309, the second player engages in a round of play in accordance with the rules discussed herein. Step 311, the players complete the first round of play. In step 313, a player achieves the requirement to be issued a playing card(further discussed herein). It should be understood that the playing cards discussed herein are optional and do not have to be included in the throwing game 100. In step 315, the players will advance to the next distance having met the requirements at the distance for the previous round of play in accordance with the rules discussed herein. Step 317, the players will engage in the round of play in accordance with the rules discussed herein. In step 319, a player will utilize a playing card as is further discussed herein. Step 321, the players will complete the round of play. In step 323, the players will advance through the rounds of play at the designated distances in accordance with the rules of play discussed herein. Step 325, a winner is determined upon a player landing a throwing member 20 into the inner target member 18 from the farthest designated difference prior to any other player achieving this objective. It is further contemplated within the scope of the present invention that a player who does not land at least one throwing member 20 in the internal area 16 during a round of play is eliminated from the game. It is further contemplated within the scope of the present invention that the throwing game 100 could include special event rules to include but not be limited to the following: advancement to final distance if throwing member 20 after toss is resting on edge of inner target member 18, advancing to next distance if throwing member 20 remains on the upper edge 12 after a toss and advancing two distances(if remaining) for toss that results in throwing member 20 remaining on upper edge of the upper wall members 13.
As discussed herein, the throwing game 100 can include playing cards that can be issued to players during the rounds of play of the throwing game 100. A player can receive a card if all five tosses of the throwing member 20 land within the internal area 16. If achieved a player is issued a single playing card and only one card can be earned at each distance. Furthermore, a player can only be the recipient of the instructions on the playing card one time by a player during a round of play. Exemplary player instructions of playing cards contemplated within the scope of the present invention is as follows: targeted player misses their next turn, all players except playing earning card goes back one distance level, player with card advances to next distance level, require player to throw with a particular hand, require player to stand on one leg during tossing the throwing member 20, require player to stand backwards during toss, require player to toss while wearing a blindfold, require player to miss play rotation, discount a player's toss result, require player to sit down during toss, require player to toss while in a seated position and use a particular hand, require player to sit with back to target member during toss, require player to kneel while tossing the throwing member 20 and require player to toss the throwing member 20 in an overhand style. The aforementioned player instructions are exemplary only and it is contemplated within the scope of the present invention that the throwing game 100 could include alternate player instructions on the playing cards.
