Claims
- 1. A composition comprising a polypeptide comprising amino acid sequence LKKTET or a conservative variant thereof, the composition further comprising a carrier for application to a surface of a body.
- 2. The composition of claim 1, wherein said carrier is for application to an external surface of said body or to an internal surface of said body.
- 3. The composition of claim 2 wherein said carrier is for administration to an external surface of said body.
- 4. The composition of claim 3 wherein said carrier is a topical carrier.
- 5. The composition of claim 2 wherein said carrier is a gel, cream, paste, lotion, spray, suspension, dispersion, salve, hydrogel or ointment.
- 6. The composition of claim 2 wherein said carrier is a matrix.
- 7. The composition of claim 1 wherein said carrier is for application to an internal surface of said body.
- 8. The composition of claim 7 wherein said carrier is for oral or nasal administration.
- 9. The composition of claim 8 wherein said carrier is for oral administration, and wherein said composition is in tablet or capsule form.
- 10. The composition of claim 1 wherein said polypeptide is gelsolin, vitamin D binding protein (DBP), profilin, cofilin, depactin, DnaseI, villin, fragmin, severin, capping protein, beta-actinin, acumentin, TB4, TB4ala, TB9, TB10, TB11, TB12, TB13, TB14, or TB15.
- 11. The composition of claim 1 wherein said composition is TB4 or an isoform of TB4.
- 12. The composition of claim 1 wherein said polypeptide is at a concentration in said carrier of at least about 0.1 ng/ml.
- 13. The composition of claim 12 wherein said polypeptide is at a concentration in said carrier of up to about 60 microgram per 300 microliter.
- 14. A method of treatment for promoting healing of damaged tissue or preventing damage to tissue, comprising applying the composition of claim 1 including said polypeptide and said carrier to a surface of a body so as to administer said composition to said tissue and thereby promote said healing or prevent said damage.
- 15. The composition of claim 1, wherein said carrier is for application to an external surface of said body or to an internal surface of said body.
- 16. The composition of claim 2 wherein said carrier is for administration to an external surface of said body.
- 17. The composition of claim 3 wherein said carrier is a topical carrier.
- 18. The composition of claim 2 wherein said carrier is a gel, cream, paste, lotion, spray, suspension, dispersion, salve, hydrogel or ointment.
- 19. The composition of claim 2 wherein said carrier is a matrix.
- 20. The composition of claim 1 wherein said carrier is for application to an internal surface of said body.
- 21. The composition of claim 7 wherein said carrier is for oral or nasal administration.
- 22. The composition of claim 8 wherein said carrier is for oral administration, and wherein said composition is in tablet or capsule form.
- 23. The composition of claim 1 wherein said polypeptide is gelsolin, vitamin D binding protein (DBP), profilin, cofilin, depactin, DnaseI, villin, fragmin, severin, capping protein, beta-actinin, acumentin, TB4, TB4ala, TB9, TB10, TB11, TB12, TB13, TB14, or TB15.
- 24. The composition of claim 1 wherein said composition is TB4 or an isoform of TB4.
- 25. The composition of claim 1 wherein said polypeptide is at a concentration in said carrier of at least about 0.1 ng/ml.
- 26. The composition of claim 12 wherein said polypeptide is at a concentration in said carrier of up to about 60 microgram per 300 microliter.
