The present invention relates to tie form devices and more particularly pertains to a new tie form device for assisting a person, while they tie a knot in a tie, to form the knot in a correct shape.
The present invention generally comprises a necktie that is elongated and has a first end and a second end. A housing has a top wall, a bottom wall, a front wall, a rear wall, a first lateral wall and a second lateral wall. The housing has a height dimension from the bottom wall to the top wall, a length dimension from the first lateral wall to the second lateral wall and a width dimension from the front wall to the rear wall. The front wall is angled toward the rear wall from the top wall to the bottom wall and the top wall has a greater width than the bottom wall. The first and second lateral walls taper toward each other from the top wall to the bottom wall and the top wall has a greater length than the bottom wall. A loop is coupled to the rear wall of the housing. The first end of the necktie is extended through loop and the necktie tied around the housing so that the necktie conforms to a shape of the housing.
There has thus been outlined, rather broadly, the more important features of the invention in order that the detailed description thereof that follows may be better understood, and in order that the present contribution to the art may be better appreciated. There are additional features of the invention that will be described hereinafter and which will form the subject matter of the claims appended hereto.

A housing 18 has a top wall 20, a bottom wall 22, a front wall 24, a rear wall 26, a first lateral wall 28 and a second lateral wall 30. The housing 18 has a height dimension from the bottom wall 22 to the top wall 20, a length dimension from the first lateral wall 28 to the second lateral wall 30 and a width dimension from the front wall 24 to the rear wall 26. The front wall 24 is angled toward the rear wall 26 from the top wall 20 to the bottom wall 22 and the top wall 20 has a greater width than the bottom wall 22. The first 28 and second 30 lateral walls taper toward each other from the top wall 20 to the bottom wall 22 and the top wall 20 has a greater length than the bottom wall 22. The front wall 24 has a notch 32 therein positioned adjacent to the bottom wall 33. The notch 32 is coextensive with a juncture of the bottom 22 and front 24 walls and is triangular shaped. The rear wall 26 has a height approximately equal to 1 inch and is oriented perpendicular to the top 20 and bottom 22 walls. The top wall 20 has a length approximately equal to about 1 inch and a width approximately between 1 inch and ½ inch.
A loop 34 is coupled to the rear wall 26 of the housing 18. The first end 14 of the necktie 12 is extended through loop 34 and the necktie 12 tied around the housing 18 so that the necktie 12 conforms to a shape of the housing 18. A plate 36 is rotatably coupled to the rear wall 26. The plate 36 lies in a plane oriented parallel to a plane of the rear wall 26. The loop 34 is positioned on the plate 36.
In use, the necktie 12 is extended through the loop 34 and tied in a conventional manner and the bottom of the knot is slid into the notch 32. The shape of the housing 18 conforms to the classic shape of a Windsor knot. This ensures that the edges of the knot are straight and crisp and the plate 36 allows the knot in the necktie 18 to be easily adjusted with respect to the wearer of the necktie 14.
With respect to the above description then, it is to be realized that the optimum dimensional relationships for the parts of the invention, to include variations in size, materials, shape, form, function and manner of operation, assembly and use, are deemed readily apparent and obvious to one skilled in the art, and all equivalent relationships to those illustrated in the drawings and described in the specification are intended to be encompassed by the present invention.
Therefore, the foregoing is considered as illustrative only of the principles of the invention. Further, since numerous modifications and changes will readily occur to those skilled in the art, it is not desired to limit the invention to the exact construction and operation shown and described, and accordingly, all suitable modifications and equivalents may be resorted to, falling within the scope of the invention.
