This invention changes the perception of both user and viewer, and adds a change of use of the knot of a necktie.
There is an opportunity to use the tie's knot with a cover-wrap to change the appearance for things such as personalization, advertisement, statement making and design.
The present inventor, who describes fully in his claims, discloses a method and a way of application that is applied and removed without hindrance of the necktie or neck wear, and allows a statement or a change of design chosen by the user.
The present invention adds a designed addition without the appearance of a added feature with the ease of application and removal. The invention will be a parent from the following description.
In general, this furnishings invention, is comprised of stretch material, embroidery and Velcro. In general, in an aspect, the material is cut into a pattern, which includes, at the top, a locking strap.
In general, in an aspect, embroidery is applied to the front. In general, in an aspect, Velcro is applied to both front sides and once on the back of the main body, and the back of the locking strap.
In general, in an aspect, the stretch material remains flexible and retractable to take the shape of the tie knot on which it is applied. In general, in an aspect, the locking strap keeps the material fixed on its application.
In general, in an aspect, the embroidery may take on different looks and designs. In general, in an aspect, the stretch material may be any color.
The accompanying drawings illustrate the embodiment's of the invention and, along with the description, serve to explain the principals of the inventions according to its embodiments. The design, will show the particular embodiment's that are illustrated in the drawings. The present invention is more fully described in the claims.
The originality of this invention comes from seeing the United States flag worn on the lapel of our politicians and pins worn on jackets and such. The thought of making this available on the tie knot became of interest to the inventor. By experimenting and finally working out a design that would create a cone-like shape furnishings product that would correctly wrap around the knot of the tie, a clear plastic mold was made to trace the cone-like design on the material. Then by cutting along the lines with scissors, the body of the invention takes its shape. A punch-like mold will be able to replace the clear plastic mold and the need to cut with scissors.
after experimenting with non-stretch, two-way stretch and four way stretch material, the inventor found that all three materials worked, but the four way stretch material performed the best.
The inventor then experimented with both glued on patches and embroidered patches for the design on the front of the invention. That inventor saw that both worked but the embroidery made the design better in both appearance and stability.
When placing the clear plastic mold on top of the material with the embroidered design in the middle, then tracing the outside of the mold, the design on the material is conceived.
By strategically placing two strips of Velcro on the ends of the top of the designed material, and needing only one strip of Velcro on one end of the back of the designed material, with one strip of Velcro on the back of locking strap, the invention became complete. With only one strip of Velcro on the back, the side without the Velcro is held with one's fingers against the back of the tie knot. This creates an impossibility of any Velcro scratching or snagging the tie knot itself and allows the invention to complete the wrapping system with the concealment of all Velcro behind the tie knot.
This invention can be used by anyone who wears a tie. Because of the use of stretch material it will fit any tie knot. With the ability to embroider the design on the front of the invention, the possibilities for use is only limited by the user. Everything from businesses, religions, sports, hobbies, animals, initials and anything ones imagination can't think of, has the ability to fit on the front of the invention.
