Claims
- 1. A communication system for transmitting a signal through a channel medium, comprising:
a transmitter adapted to transmit said signal, a receiver adapted to receive said signal, a digitizer that digitizes said signal, and a time-reversal signal processor adapted to time-reverse said digitized signal.
- 2. The system of claim 1 wherein said channel medium comprises air.
- 3. The system of claim 1 wherein said channel medium comprises earth.
- 4. The system of claim 1 wherein said channel medium comprises water.
- 5. The system of claim 1 wherein said channel medium comprises tissue.
- 6. The system of claim 1 wherein said channel medium comprises metal.
- 7. The system of claim 1 wherein said channel medium comprises non-metal.
- 8. The system of claim 1 including a signal processor adapted to estimate Green's function of said channel medium.
- 9. The system of claim 1 including a signal processor adapted to determine Green's function of said channel medium.
- 10. The system of claim 1 including means for transmitting a pilot signal through said channel medium.
- 11. The system of claim 1 including means for estimating a pilot signal as it would be transmitted through said channel medium.
- 12. The system of claim 1 including means for transmiting a pilot signal through said channel medium, means for estimating a pilot signal signal as it would be transmitted through said channel medium, and means for for comparing said pilot signal and said estimated pilot signal.
- 13. The system of claim 1 wherein said time-reversal signal processor is operatively connected to said transmitter.
- 14. The system of claim 1 wherein said time-reversal signal processor is operatively connected to said receiver.
- 15. The system of claim 1 wherein said digitizer is operatively connected to said transmitter.
- 16. The system of claim 1 wherein said digitizer is operatively connected to said receiver.
- 17. The system of claim 1 wherein said time-reversal signal processor and said digitizer are operatively connected to said transmitter.
- 18. The system of claim 1 wherein said time-reversal signal processor and said digitizer are operatively connected to said receiver.
- 19. The system of claim 1 including a multiplicity of at least one of said transmitters and receivers.
- 20. The system of claim 1 including a multiplicity of link stations opertively connected to at least one of said transmitters and receivers.
- 21. The system of claim 1 including a communications array.
- 22. The system of claim 1 including a communications array operatively connected to said transmitter.
- 23. The system of claim 1 including a communications array operatively connected to said receiver.
- 24. The system of claim 1 including a communications array operatively connected to said transmitter and a communications array operatively connected to said receiver.
- 25. A communication system comprising:
means for transmiting a signal through a channel medium, means for receiving said signal, means for digitizing said signal, and means for time-reversing said digitized signal.
- 26. The system of claim 25 wherein said means for time-reversing said digitized signal is operatively connected to said transmitter.
- 27. The system of claim 25 wherein said means for time-reversing said digitized signal is operatively connected to said receiver.
- 28. The system of claim 25 wherein said means for digitizing said signal is operatively connected to said transmitter.
- 29. The system of claim 25 wherein said means for digitizing said signal is operatively connected to said receiver.
- 30. The system of claim 25 wherein said means for time-reversing said digitized signal and said means for digitizing said signal are operatively connected to said transmitter.
- 31. The system of claim 25 wherein said means for time-reversing said digitized signal and said means for digitizing said signal are operatively connected to said receiver.
- 32. A communication method of transmitting a signal through a channel medium, comprising the steps of:
digitizing said signal, time-reversing said digitized signal, and transmitting said signal through said channel medium.
- 33. The method of claim 32 wherein said step of digitizing said signal is performed in connection with a transmitter.
- 34. The method of claim 32 wherein said step of digitizing said signal is performed in connection with a receiver.
- 35. The method of claim 32 wherein said step of time-reversing said digitized signal is performed in connection with a transmitter.
- 36. The method of claim 32 wherein said step of time-reversing said digitized signal is performed in connection with a receiver.
- 37. The method of claim 32 wherein said step of digitizing said signal and said step of time-reversing said digitized signal is performed in connection with a transmitter.
- 38. The method of claim 32 wherein said step of digitizing said signal and said step of time-reversing said digitized signal is performed in connection with a receiver.
- 39. The method of claim 32 wherein a multiplicity of transmitters are used in said step of transmitting said signal through said channel medium.
- 40. The method of claim 32 wherein a multiplicity of receivers are used in said step of transmitting said signal through said channel medium.
- 41. The method of claim 32 wherein a multiplicity of transmitters and a multiplicity of receivers are used in said step of transmitting said signal through said channel medium.
- 42. The method of claim 32 wherein said channel medium comprises air.
- 43. The method of claim 32 wherein said channel medium comprises earth.
- 44. The method of claim 32 wherein said channel medium comprises water.
- 45. The method of claim 32 wherein said channel medium comprises tissue.
- 46. The method of claim 32 wherein said channel medium comprises metal.
- 47. The method of claim 32 wherein said channel medium comprises non-metal.
- 48. The method of claim 32 including the step of estimating Green's function of said channel medium.
- 49. The method of claim 32 including the step of determining Green's function of said channel medium.
- 50. The method of claim 32 including the step of transmitting a pilot signal through said channel medium.
- 51. The method of claim 32 including the step of estimating a pilot signal as it would be transmitted through said channel medium.
- 52. The method of claim 32 wherein a multiplicity of link stations are used in said step of transmitting said signal through said channel medium.
- 53. The method of claim 32 including the step of providing a secure communication to an individual link station of a multiplicity of link stations by digitizing said signal and time-reversing said digitized signal in connection with said step of transmitting said signal through said channel medium to said individual link station.
