Claims
- 1. A tip for a power dental flossing device, comprising:
a base portion for supporting the tip when coupled to the dental flossing device; a central portion having a substantially rectangular cross-section, and having a first end and a second end, said first end coupled to said base portion, wherein said central portion has a height and a width; and an end portion coupled to said second end of said central portion, for insertion between a pair of adjacent teeth of a user, wherein said end portion has a height and a width, said height of said end portion being greater than said height of said central portion; wherein said tip is compressible.
- 2. The tip of claim 1, wherein the central portion has a top surface, a bottom surface, and a pair of sides, wherein the top and bottom surfaces having a substantially equal width, and the sides have a substantially equal height, and wherein the height of the sides are larger than the width of the top and bottom surfaces.
- 3. The tip of claim 1, wherein the central portion has a top surface, a bottom surface, and a pair of sides, wherein at least one of the sides is curved.
- 4. The tip of claim 3, wherein the at least one of the sides is curved inwardly.
- 5. The tip of claim 3, wherein the at least one of the sides is indented.
- 6. The tip of claim 1, wherein the central portion has a top surface having a first width proximate the base portion, and having second width proximate the end portion, the first width being larger than the second width.
- 7. The tip of claim 1, wherein the central portion has at least one side having a first height proximate the base portion, and having second height proximate the end portion, the first height being larger than the second height.
- 8. The tip of claim 1, wherein said end portion includes a substantially disk-shaped longitudinal cross-section.
- 9. The tip of claim 1, wherein said end portion includes a substantially oval-shaped longitudinal cross-section.
- 10. The tip of claim 1, wherein said end portion includes a substantially elliptically-shaped longitudinal cross-section.
- 11. The tip of claim 1, wherein said end portion includes a substantially square-shaped longitudinal cross-section.
- 12. The tip of claim 1, wherein said end portion includes a substantially football-shaped longitudinal cross-section.
- 13. The tip of claim 1, wherein said end portion includes a substantially sword-shaped longitudinal cross-section.
- 14. The tip of claim 1, wherein said end portion defines sidewalls, said sidewalls including a substantially concave outwardly vertical cross-section.
- 15. The tip of claim 1, wherein said end portion defines sidewalls, said sidewalls including a substantially convex outwardly vertical cross-section.
- 16. The tip of claim 1, wherein said end portion defines sidewalls, said sidewalls including a substantially parallel vertical cross-section.
- 17. The tip of claim 1, wherein said end portion defines sidewalls, said sidewalls said sidewalls including a substantially circular vertical cross-section.
- 18. The tip of claim 15, wherein said end defines top and bottom walls, and said top and bottom walls are relatively narrow.
- 19. A tip for a power dental flossing device, comprising:
a base portion for supporting the tip when coupled to the dental flossing device; a central portion having a substantially rectangular cross-section, and having a first end and a second end, said first end coupled to said base portion; and an end portion coupled to said second end of said central portion, for insertion between a pair of adjacent teeth of a user, wherein said end portion includes a shaped longitudinal cross-section.
- 20. The tip of claim 19, wherein said shaped longitudinal cross-section is substantially disk-shaped.
- 21. The tip of claim 19, wherein said shaped longitudinal cross-section is substantially oval-shaped.
- 22. The tip of claim 19, wherein said shaped longitudinal cross-section is substantially elliptically-shaped.
- 23. The tip of claim 19, wherein said shaped longitudinal cross-section is substantially square-shaped.
- 24. The tip of claim 19, wherein said shaped longitudinal cross-section is substantially football-shaped.
- 25. The tip of claim 19, wherein said shaped longitudinal cross-section is substantially sword-shaped.
- 26. A tip for a power dental flossing device, comprising:
a base portion for supporting the tip when coupled to the dental flossing device; a central portion having a substantially rectangular cross-section, and having a first end and a second end, said first end coupled to said base portion; and an end portion coupled to said second end of said central portion, for insertion between a pair of adjacent teeth of a user, wherein said end portion defines sidewalls.
- 27. The tip of claim 26, wherein said sidewalls include a substantially concave outwardly vertical cross-section.
- 28. The tip of claim 26, wherein said sidewalls include a substantially convex outwardly vertical cross-section.
- 29. The tip of claim 26, wherein said sidewalls include a substantially parallel vertical cross-section.
- 30. The tip of claim 26, wherein said sidewalls said include a substantially circular vertical cross-section.
- 31. The tip of claim 28, wherein said end defines top and bottom walls, and said top and bottom walls are relatively narrow.
