Claims
- 1. A mold body on which electromeric material can be positioned for formation of a tread thereon comprising a generally annular main body portion and a continuous rib disposed about the outer periphery of the main body portion including a plurality of poppet valve members movably mounted thereon and movable between retracted positions relative to the main body portion and the extended positions relative to the main body portion; and
- mean for selectively extending and retracting the poppet valve members.
- 2. The mold body of claim 1 wherein said means for extending the poppet valve members includes means for introducing pressurized fluid thereto within the main body portion, the poppet valve members being positioned to allow the flow of pressurized fluid therepast when they are in the extended position.
- 3. The mold body of claim 2 wherein each of said poppet valve members includes an outer edge surface generally flush with the outer surface of the main body portion when the valve member is in its retracted position, the outer edge surface of each poppet valve member being spaced from the surface of the main body portion when the poppet valve member is in its extended position.
- 4. The mold body of claim 1 which includes a movable body member movable relative to the main body portion, the movable body member having a passage means there through and being positionable relative to the main body portion to allow the flow of elastomeric through the passage means during formation of the tread pattern thereon and movable to a position blocking the flow of elastomeric material through the passage means.
- 5. The mold body of claim 4 wherein the movable body member includes a cutting member for cutting the elastomeric material.
- 6. The mold body of claim 5 including resilient means for biasing the movable body member toward the position blocking the flow of elastomeric material through said passage means.
