Claims
- 1. An ultrasound system for providing time-controlled gain compensation, comprising:
- an ultrasound transducer having a specified operating range about a first frequency;
- transmitter means for providing to said ultrasound transducer a transmitted signal at a second frequency; and
- receiver means connected to said ultrasound transducer for providing a detected signal according to reflections of said transmitted signal, wherein
- transmitted signal frequency is above said first frequency, wherein said time-controlled gain compensation being provided by a relative offset of the first frequency of said ultrasound transducer with respect to said transmitted signal frequency by providing a transducer which enhances received signals at frequencies different from those of the transmitted frequencies.
- 2. The ultrasound system of claim 1, wherein said receiver comprises means for receiving signals from said transducer of at least one of a selected signal center frequency and a selected signal bandwidth.
- 3. The ultrasound system of claim 2, wherein said receiver selects a plurality of received signals of decreasing center frequencies for each transmitted signal.
