DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION

With reference now to the drawings, and in particular to FIGS. 1 through 6 thereof, a new protection device embodying the principles and concepts of an embodiment of the disclosure and generally designated by the reference numeral 10 will be described.

As best illustrated in FIGS. 1 through 6, the toddler protection garment assembly 10 generally comprises a harness 12 that is wearable over a toddler's shoulders 14 for supporting an object on the toddler's shoulders 14. The harness 12 comprises a waist belt 16 that has a first end 18 and a second end 20. The harness 12 includes a first buckle 22 that has the first end 18 extending therethrough for retaining the first buckle 22 on the waist belt 16. The harness 12 also includes a second buckle 24 that has the second end 20 extending therethrough for retaining the second buckle 24 on the waist belt 16. Moreover, the first buckle 22 is releasably matable to the second buckle 24 such that the waist belt 16 forms a closed loop to retain the waist belt 16 around the toddler's waist 26. The harness 12 includes a pair of first adjustment slides 28. The waist belt 16 extends through each of the first adjustment slides 28 thereby facilitating the first adjustment slides 28 to adjust the diameter of the closed loop formed by the waist belt 16.

The harness 12 includes a pair of shoulder straps 30, each of the shoulder straps 30 has a primary end 32 and a secondary end 34 and the primary end 32 of each of the shoulder straps 30 is coupled to the waist belt 16. The secondary end 34 of each of the shoulder straps 30 is looped around the waist belt 16 such that each of the shoulder straps 30 forms an arch extending upwardly from the waist belt 16. In this way each of the shoulder straps 30 can be extended over a respective one of the toddler's shoulders 14. The harness 12 includes a pair of second adjustment slides 36 and each of the shoulder straps 30 extends through a respective one of the second adjustment slides 36 for adjusting a length of the shoulder straps 30.

A disk 38 is coupled to the harness 12 and the harness 12 is centrally positioned in the disk 38 such that the disk 38 surrounds the toddler when the harness 12 is worn on the toddler. In this way the disk 38 inhibits the toddler from contacting objects, such as table edges and furniture, when the toddler is walking. The disk 38 has a top surface 40, a bottom surface 42 and a perimeter edge 44 extending therebetween. The disk 38 has an opening 46 extending through the top surface 40 and the bottom surface 42 and the opening 46 is centrally positioned on the disk 38. The opening 46 has a bounding edge 48 and a partial diameter of the bounding edge 48 is coupled to the waist belt 16 having the first end 18 and the second end 20 of the waist belt 16 being uncoupled from the bounding edge 48. The disk 38 may be comprised of a mesh material, or other fluid permeable material, thereby facilitating liquid, such as juice or milk, to pass through the disk 38 when the liquid is spilled on the disk 38.

The disk 38 has an aperture 50 extending through the top surface 40 and the bottom surface 42 to receive a beverage container. The aperture 50 is positioned between the perimeter edge 44 and the opening 46. A cup holder 52 is coupled to and extends downwardly from the bottom surface 42 of the disk 38. The cup holder 52 is aligned with the aperture 50 to support the beverage container. The beverage container may be a drinking cup or other cylindrically shaped beverage container.

A toroid 54 is coupled to the disk 38 such that the toroid 54 surrounds the disk 38. The toroid 54 is resiliently compressible to cushion impact against objects when the toddler walks into the objects. The toroid 54 has an outer wall 56 and the outer wall 56 is coupled to the perimeter edge 44 of the disk 38. Moreover, the toroid 54 is hollow and the toroid 54 is inflatable.

A fill valve 58 is fluidly coupled to the toroid 54 to facilitate the toroid 54 to be inflated. The fill valve 58 extends through the outer wall 56 into an interior of the toroid 54. The fill valve 58 is positionable in an open condition for passing air therethrough to facilitate the toroid 54 to be inflated or deflated. The fill valve 58 is positionable in a closed condition for inhibiting air from passing therethrough to retain air in the toroid 54.

In use, the toroid 54 is inflated and the harness 12 is worn on the toddler when the toddler is walking in their home. In this way the disk 38 extends around the toddler thereby inhibiting the toddler from walking into objects in their home and potentially be injured. Additionally, the toroid 54 cushions impact when the disk 38 strikes the objects. Additionally, snacks for the toddler can be placed on the disk 38 and a beverage container can be stored in the cup holder 52.

With respect to the above description then, it is to be realized that the optimum dimensional relationships for the parts of an embodiment enabled by the disclosure, to include variations in size, materials, shape, form, function and manner of operation, assembly and use, are deemed readily apparent and obvious to one skilled in the art, and all equivalent relationships to those illustrated in the drawings and described in the specification are intended to be encompassed by an embodiment of the disclosure.

Therefore, the foregoing is considered as illustrative only of the principles of the disclosure. Further, since numerous modifications and changes will readily occur to those skilled in the art, it is not desired to limit the disclosure to the exact construction and operation shown and described, and accordingly, all suitable modifications and equivalents may be resorted to, falling within the scope of the disclosure. In this patent document, the word “comprising” is used in its non-limiting sense to mean that items following the word are included, but items not specifically mentioned are not excluded. A reference to an element by the indefinite article “a” does not exclude the possibility that more than one of the element is present, unless the context clearly requires that there be only one of the elements.
