The disclosure relates to sanitary toilet seat covers and more particularly pertains to a new sanitary toilet seat cover for preventing the contact of a person's skin with a toilet seat.
An embodiment of the disclosure meets the needs presented above by generally comprising a panel of flexible, water impermeable material having a top side, a bottom side and a perimeter edge. The perimeter edge includes a rear edge, a front edge, a first lateral edge and a second lateral edge. The panel has an aperture extending through the top and bottom sides, which has a size and shape to be aligned with an opening in a toilet seat. A border of the panel positioned between the aperture and the perimeter edge is configured to substantially cover the toilet seat when the aperture is aligned with the opening. The aperture is positioned nearer to the rear edge than the front edge. A distance from the front edge to the aperture is greater than 12.0 inches. The panel has a perforated line therein extending between the first and second lateral edges. The perforated line is positioned between the aperture and the front edge to facilitate removal of an end portion of the panel to define a mat. The end portion has a length from the perforated line to the front edge of at least 8.0 inches.
There has thus been outlined, rather broadly, the more important features of the disclosure in order that the detailed description thereof that follows may be better understood, and in order that the present contribution to the art may be better appreciated. There are additional features of the disclosure that will be described hereinafter and which will form the subject matter of the claims appended hereto.
The objects of the disclosure, along with the various features of novelty which characterize the disclosure, are pointed out with particularity in the claims annexed to and forming a part of this disclosure.
The disclosure will be better understood and objects other than those set forth above will become apparent when consideration is given to the following detailed description thereof. Such description makes reference to the annexed drawings wherein:
With reference now to the drawings, and in particular to
As best illustrated in
The panel 12 has a perforated line 38 therein extending between the first 24 and second 26 lateral edges. The perforated line 38 is positioned between the aperture 28 and the front edge 22 to facilitate removal of an end portion 40 of the panel 12 to define a mat. Thus, the end portion 40 may be torn along the perforated line 38 or the end portion 40 may be retained in attachment with a remaining portion of the panel 12. When hanging down from a toilet seat 32 as shown in
A gripping tab 42 is attached to the perimeter edge 18 and extends outwardly away therefrom. The gripping tab 42 is attached to the first lateral edge 24 and is positioned between the front 22 and rear 20 edges. As shown in the Figures, a pair of gripping tabs 42, 44 may be utilized such that a second gripping tab 44 is attached to the second lateral edge 26. A protection tab 46 is attached to a peripheral edge 48 of the aperture 28 and is positioned proximal to the perforated line 38 and distal to the rear edge 20. Thus, when the protection tab 46 falls downwardly through the toilet seat 32 due to gravity, the protection tab 46 will prevent the abutment of a male's penis against an inner rim of the toilet 36. Though shown in an extended position in
In use, the panel 12 is placed on the toilet seat 32 and the end portion 40 is allowed to hang downwardly as shown in
With respect to the above description then, it is to be realized that the optimum dimensional relationships for the parts of an embodiment enabled by the disclosure, to include variations in size, materials, shape, form, function and manner of operation, assembly and use, are deemed readily apparent and obvious to one skilled in the art, and all equivalent relationships to those illustrated in the drawings and described in the specification are intended to be encompassed by an embodiment of the disclosure.
Therefore, the foregoing is considered as illustrative only of the principles of the disclosure. Further, since numerous modifications and changes will readily occur to those skilled in the art, it is not desired to limit the disclosure to the exact construction and operation shown and described, and accordingly, all suitable modifications and equivalents may be resorted to, falling within the scope of the disclosure. In this patent document, the word “comprising” is used in its non-limiting sense to mean that items following the word are included, but items not specifically mentioned are not excluded. A reference to an element by the indefinite article “a” does not exclude the possibility that more than one of the element is present, unless the context clearly requires that there be only one of the elements.
