This application relates in general to an article of manufacture for providing bathroom sanitary aids, and more specifically, to an article of manufacture for providing a toilet wall and vanity shield.
Young boys and older men are notorious for having poor aim at the center of a toilet while standing. As such, urine may be found splashed about all sides of the walls and items near the toilet, as well as dripping onto the floor as it dries. This problem creates a mess as well as an unsanitary condition about a toilet for other users.
Therefore, a need exists for an article of manufacture for providing a toilet wall and vanity shield. The present invention attempts to address the limitations and deficiencies in prior solutions according to the principles and example embodiments disclosed herein.
In accordance with the present invention, the above and other problems are solved by providing an article of manufacture for a toilet wall and vanity shield according to the principles and example embodiments disclosed herein.
In one embodiment, the present invention is an article of manufacture for providing a toilet wall and vanity shield. The toilet wall and vanity shield includes a rear wall shield component having aa left edge, a right edge, a rear wall lip extending along a bottom edge, a pair of stud legs coupled to a bottom surface of the rear wall lip, one about each outer end of the real wall fluid retaining lip, a pair of side wall shield component each having an inner edge, an outer edge, and a side wall lip extending along a bottom edge from the inner edge to the outer edge of each side wall shield component, and side wall stud leg coupled to a bottom surface of the rear wall lip on each of the pair of side wall shield components. Each of the side wall stud let located one about each outer edge of the side wall fluid retaining lips. The inner edge a first side wall component of the pair of side wall shield components being coupled to the right edge of a rear wall shield component, and the inner edge a second side wall component of the pair of side wall shield components being coupled to the left edge of a rear wall shield component.
In another aspect of the present disclosure, the toilet wall and vanity shield further comprises a carrying handle about a top edge of the rear wall shield component.
In another aspect of the present disclosure, the toilet wall and vanity shield further comprises a toilet plumbing opening.
In another aspect of the present disclosure, the toilet plumbing opening being located about a bottom edge of the rear wall shield component extending through the rear wall lip.
In another aspect of the present disclosure, a sealing cap being coupled to each open end of the rear wall fluid retaining lip and the side wall lips to retain any liquid and other material.
In another aspect of the present disclosure, the rear wall shield component and both of the side wall shield components are made of a material comprising plastic, metal, aluminum, and metal.
In another aspect of the present disclosure, the outer edge a first side wall component of the pair of side wall shield components being coupled to the right edge of a rear wall shield component, and the inner edge a second side wall component of the pair of side wall shield components being coupled to the left edge of a rear wall shield component.

This application relates in general to a system and method for providing bathroom sanitary aids, and more specifically, to an article of manufacture for providing a toilet wall and vanity shield according to the present invention.
Various embodiments of the present invention will be described in detail with reference to the drawings, wherein like reference numerals represent like parts and assemblies throughout the several views. Reference to various embodiments does not limit the scope of the invention, which is limited only by the scope of the claims attached hereto. Additionally, any examples set forth in this specification are not intended to be limiting and merely set forth some of the many possible embodiments for the claimed invention.
In describing embodiments of the present invention, the following terminology will be used. The singular forms “a,” “an,” and “the” include plural referents unless the context clearly dictates otherwise. Thus, for example, reference to “a needle” includes reference to one or more of such needles and “etching” includes one or more of such steps. As used herein, a plurality of items, structural elements, compositional elements, and/or materials may be presented in a common list for convenience. However, these lists should be construed as though each member of the list is individually identified as a separate and unique member. Thus, no individual member of such list should be construed as a de facto equivalent of any other member of the same list solely based on their presentation in a common group without indications to the contrary. The terms “man,” and “user” refer to an entity, e.g. a human, using the toilet wall and vanity shield associated with the invention. The term user herein refers to one or more users.
The term “invention” or “present invention” refers to the invention being applied for via the patent application with the title “Toilet Wall Shield.” Invention may be used interchangeably with shield.
In general, the present disclosure relates to an article of manufacture for providing bathroom sanitary aids. To better understand the present invention,
The rear wall shield component 101 is wide enough to cover the entire wall space behind a toilet and some additional space on either side of the toilet. The rear wall shield component 101 extends upward from the floor to a point above the top of a water tank of the toilet. The fluid retaining lip 103 of the rear wall shield component 101 extends along the entire length of the rear wall shield component 101.
Each of the side wall shield components 102a-b covers a portion of a wall or vanity that is located on either side of the toilet. The side wall shield components 102a-b typically extend upward from the floor for a distance that covers most of the side of a vanity. The side wall shield components 102a-b should extend outward from the real wall a distance of either the typical width of the vanity or to about a front edge of the toilet. The fluid retaining lips 104a-b of the side wall shields 102a-b also extend the width of the shield with an inner edge that engages the lower lip 103 of the real wall shield component 101 in a manner that ensures that any fluid caught by these lips does not leak onto the floor. Each of the fluid retaining lips 104a-n of the side wall shield components 104a-b are enclosed with a cap attached to an outer end of each fluid retaining lips 104a-b.
The rear wall shield component 101 and the side wall shield components 102a-b typically are easily installed and removed for cleaning. These shield wall components 101, 102a-n are typically made of plastic or similar synthetic material that is lightweight and durable. The shield wall components 101, 102a-b also may be made of metal, aluminum or similar material. These components are typically 2″ thick.
A carrying handle 201 is coupled to the rear wall shield component 101 about a top edge. The carrying handle 201 may be a through hole in the rear wall shield component 101. In other embodiments, the carrying handle 201 may be an attached handle extended from the rear wall shield component 101.
A toilet plumbing opening 202 is located within the rear wall shield component 101 from a bottom edge of the rear wall shield component oriented upward to permit the shield 100 to be positioned behind the toilet 150. The toilet plumbing opening 202 extends through the lip 103 to the rear wall shield component 101 in order to allow water source plumbing (not shown to pass from the wall to the toilet 150.
Even though particular combinations of features are recited in the present application, these combinations are not intended to limit the disclosure of the invention. In fact, many of these features may be combined in ways not specifically recited in this application. In other words, any of the features mentioned in this application may be included to this new invention in any combination or combinations to allow the functionality required for the desired operations.
No element, act, or instruction used in the present application should be construed as critical or essential to the invention unless explicitly described as such. Further, the phrase “based on” is intended to mean “based, at least in part, on” unless explicitly stated otherwise.
