Claims
- 1. An electronic music apparatus comprising:
- tone generating means for generating tone signals independently in plural channels;
- effect imparting means, provided in a corresponding relationship to the channels, for imparting individual effects to the respective tone signals generated by said tone generating means;
- tone parameter setting means, for each of the channels, for setting a tone parameter characterizing the tone signals; and
- effect modification means for modifying the effects to be imparted to the tone signals of each one of the channels, in real-time, in accordance with the tone parameter of the corresponding channel, to thereby impart an effect corresponding to a characteristic of the tone signals generated in each one of the channels.
- 2. An electronic musical apparatus as defined in claim 1, wherein the tone parameter of each of the channels is set in response to at least one signal from among a key-on signal, a key-off signal, a velocity signal, and an envelope signal for each one of the channels.
- 3. An electronic musical apparatus as defined in claim 1, wherein the tone parameter set by said tone parameter setting means for each one of the channels is at least one of plural parameters for the effect to be imparted.
- 4. An electronic musical apparatus as defined in claim 1, further comprising:
- designation means for designating a note of a tone to be generated; and
- assignment means for assigning the note designated by said designation means to at least one of the plural channels, wherein in response to assignment by said assignment means of the designated note, said effect impartment means determines a type of an effect to be imparted in said channel to which said designated note has been assigned.
- 5. An electronic musical apparatus as defined in claim 4, further comprising:
- tone color selection means for selecting a tone color of a tone to be generated in each of the channels; and
- selection means for selecting an effect in correspondence to the tone color selected by said tone color selection means, wherein said effect impartment means imparts, in each of the channels, said effect selected in correspondence to the tone color.
- 6. An electronic musical apparatus as defined in claim 1, wherein said effect impartment means is capable of selecting the type of an effect to be imparted in said channel separately for each of the channels.
- 7. An electronic musical apparatus as defined in claim 1, wherein said effect impartment means includes, in corresponding relationship to said channels, delay means or memory means to be used for signal delaying processing, and wherein when said tone source means performs a damping process to stop tone generation in any of the channels, said effect impartment means, upon termination of said damping process, switches a currently used one of said delay means or memory means to another one of said delay means or memory means.
- 8. An electronic musical apparatus comprising:
- tone generating means, for generating tone signals independently in plural channels thereof; and
- effect impartment means, provided in a corresponding relationship to the channels, for imparting individual effects to the respective tone signals of the channels generated by said tone generating means, said effect impartment means controlling a parameter of the effect to be imparted to the tone signal of each said channels in accordance with tone control information peculiar to the tone signal of each of said channels,
- wherein said effect impartment means includes signal delaying storage means provided in corresponding relationship to said channels, and clearing means for, when a truncating process is performed to deaden a tone being generated in a specific one of the channels to allow a new tone to be generated in said specific channel, clearing stored contents of said storage means used for said specific channel to make said specific channel available for signal delaying of the new tone in response to deadening of the tone.
- 9. An electronic musical apparatus comprising:
- a tone generating circuit that independently generates tone signals in a plurality of channels; and
- an effect impartment circuit, provided in a corresponding relationship to the plurality of channels, that imparts individual effects to the respective tone signals in the plurality of channels that are generated by the tone generating circuit;
- a tone parameter setting circuit, for each of the channels, setting a tone parameter characterizing the tone signals; and
- an effect modulation circuit for modifying the effect to be imparted to the tone signals of each one of the channels, in real time, in accordance with the tone parameter of the corresponding channel, to thereby impart an effect corresponding to a characteristic of the tone signals generated in each one of the channels.
- 10. An electronic musical apparatus as defined in claim 9, wherein the tone parameter of each one of the channels is set in response to at least one signal from among a key-on signal, a key-off signal, a velocity signal, and an envelope signal for each one of the channels.
- 11. An electronic musical apparatus as defined in claim 9, further comprising:
- a designation circuit that designates a note of a tone to be generated; and
- an assignment circuit that assigns the note designated by the designation circuit to at least one of the plurality of channels, wherein in response to assignment by the assignment circuit of the designated note, the effect impartment circuit determines a type of an effect to be imparted in the at least one of the plurality of channels to which the designated note has been assigned.
- 12. An electronic musical apparatus as defined in claim 11, further comprising:
- a tone color selection circuit that selects a tone color of a tone to be generated in each of the plurality of channels;
- a selection circuit that selects an effect in correspondence to the tone color selected by the tone color selection circuit, wherein the effect impartment circuit imparts, in each of the plurality of channels, the effect selected in correspondence to the tone color.
- 13. An electronic musical apparatus comprising:
- a plurality of tone generating channels, each of the tone generating channels generating a tone signal in response to tone control information assigned thereto;
- a plurality of effectors corresponding to the plurality of tone generating channels, each of said effectors imparting an effect to the tone signal from a corresponding one of said tone generating channels;
- a tone parameter setting device, for each one of the tone generating channels, for setting a tone parameter characterizing the tone signal; and
- an effect modification device for modifying the effect to be imparted to the tone signal of each one of the tone generating channels, in real time, in accordance with the tone parameter of a corresponding one of the tone generating channels, to thereby impart an effect corresponding to a characteristic of the tone signal generated in each one of the tone generating channels.
- 14. An electronic musical apparatus according to claim 13 further comprising:
- a tone control information generator which generates the tone control information in response to a player's performance,
- wherein the generated tone control information is assigned to one of the tone generating channels and a corresponding one of the effectors, and the tone parameter for each one of the plurality of channels is set in accordance with the tone control information assigned to the corresponding channel.
- 15. An electronic musical apparatus according to claim 13, wherein the tone parameter of each one of the channels is set in response to at least one signal from among a key-on signal, a key-off signal, a velocity signal, and an envelope signal for each one of the channels.
- 16. An electronic musical apparatus comprising:
- a plurality of tone generating channels, each of the tone generating channels generates a tone signal in response to tone control information assigned thereto;
- a plurality of effectors corresponding to the plurality of tone generating channels, each of said effectors imparting an effect to the tone signal from a corresponding one of said tone generating channels; and
- a controller which controls a parameter of the effect imparted by any of said effectors, in accordance with the tone control information,
- wherein each of the effectors has at least two storage areas available and is connected to one of the storage areas,
- the connected storage area is used for performing a delaying process on a tone signal input thereto to impart a predetermined effect to the tone signal input, and
- said controller, when one of the tone generating channels stops generating the tone signal and starts generating a next tone signal, connects the corresponding effector to a new storage area not being used and disconnects the connected storage area, the new storage area having been cleared before being connected to the corresponding effector.
- 17. A machine-readable recording medium containing a group of instructions to control the steps of:
- generating tone signals independently in a plurality of tone generating channels;
- imparting individual effects to the respective tone signals generated by said step of generating;
- setting a tone parameter characterizing the tone signals for each one of the channels; and
- modifying the individual effects to be imparted to the tone signals of each one of the tone generating channels, in real-time, in accordance with the tone parameter of the corresponding channel, to thereby impart an effect corresponding to a characteristic of the tone signals generated in each one of the tone generating channels.
- 18. A machine-readable recording medium containing a group of instructions to control the steps of:
- generating tone signals in a plurality of tone generating channels independently of each other in response to individual tone control information assigned to the respective tone generating channels;
- imparting an effect to each of the tone signals generated in the tone generating channels independently of the other tone signals;
- setting a tone parameter characterizing the tone signals for each one of the channels; and
- modifying the effect to be imparted to the tone signals of each one of the tone generating channels, in real-time, in accordance with the tone parameter of the corresponding channel, to thereby impart an effect corresponding to a characteristic of the tone signals generated in each one of the tone generating channels.
- 19. A method of generating a tone and imparting an effect to the generated tone, said method comprising the steps of:
- generating tone signals in a plurality of tone generating channels independently of each other in response to individual tone control information assigned to the respective tone generating channels;
- imparting an effect to each of the tone signals generated in the tone generating channels independently of the other tone signals;
- setting a tone parameter characterizing the tone signals for each one of the channels; and
- modifying the effect to be imparted to the tone signals of each one of the tone generating channels, in real-time, in accordance with the tone parameter of the corresponding channel, to thereby impart an effect corresponding to a characteristic of the tone signals generated in each one of the tone generating channels.
- 20. A method of imparting a desired effect to a tone signal, the method comprising the steps of:
- generating the tone signal in response to tone control information assigned to the tone signal by using a tone generating channel;
- imparting an effect to the tone signal by using an effector corresponding to the tone generating channel;
- setting a tone parameter characterizing the tone signal for the channel; and
- modifying the effect to be imparted to the tone signal of the tone generating channel, in real-time, in accordance with the tone parameter of the tone generating channel, to thereby impart an effect corresponding to a characteristic of the tone signal generated in the tone generating channel.
- 21. A method according to claim 20, further comprising the steps of:
- generating the tone control information in response to a performance of a player; and
- assigning the generated tone control information to the tone generating channel and the effector, wherein the tone parameter for the channel is set in accordance with the tone control information assigned to the channel.
- 22. A method according to claim 20, further comprising the step of setting the tone parameter of the channel in response to at least one signal from among a key-on signal, a key-off signal, a velocity signal, and an envelope signal for the channel.
- 23. A method of imparting a desired effect to a tone signal, the method comprising the steps of:
- generating the tone signal in response to tone control information assigned to the tone signal by using a tone generating channel;
- imparting an effect to the tone signal by using an effector corresponding to the tone generating channel;
- controlling a parameter of the effect imparted by the effector in accordance with the tone control information;
- connecting one of storage areas assigned to the effector to the effector for performing a delaying process on the tone signal inputted to the effector to impart a predetermined effect to the tone signal inputted to the effector; and
- connecting the effector to a new storage area not being used and disconnecting the connected storage area, when the tone generating channel stops generating the tone signal and starts generating a next tone signal.
- 24. The machine-readable recording medium according to claim 17, wherein the parameter of each one of the channels is set in response to at least one signal from among a key-on signal, a key-off signal, a velocity signal, and an envelope signal for each one of the channels.
- 25. The machine-readable recording medium according to claim 18, wherein the parameter of each one of the channels is set in response to at least one signal from among a key-on signal, a key-off signal, a velocity signal, and an envelope signal for each one of the channels.
- 26. The method according to claim 19, wherein the parameter of each one of the channels is set in response to at least one signal from among a key-on signal, a key-off signal, a velocity signal, and an envelope signal for each one of the channels.
