The present invention relates to a tool for disposing of dead rodents, more particularly, to a tool for disposing of dead rodents that includes a handle to operate a dome capable of covering a rodent.
Several designs for disposing tools have been designed in the past. None of them, however, include a hemispherical enclosure capable of enclosing a rodent.
Applicant believes that a related reference corresponds to U.S. Pat. No. 10,709,317 issued for a pet waste collection device with a scooping assembly, a telescopic shaft, and a handle assembly. Applicant believes that another related reference corresponds to U.S. Pat. No. 11,261,572 issued for a scooping tool with an elongated hand and a hand engaged implement. None of these references, however, teach of a tool for disposing of dead rodents that is comprised of a scooping tool with an elongated handle with a hand actuated trigger mechanism which is used to lift a cover on the scoping member located on the distal end of the handle allowing a person to collect a dead rodent or pest without coming into contact with the body.
Other documents describing the closest subject matter provide for a number of more or less complicated features that fail to solve the problem in an efficient and economical way.
None of these patents suggest the novel features of the present invention.
It is one of the objects of the present invention to provide a tool for disposing of dead rodents that includes a planar base hingedly attached to an hemispherical enclosure.
It is another object of this invention to provide a tool for disposing of dead rodents that includes a connecting member connecting the base and enclosure with the handle.
It is still another object of the present invention to provide a tool for disposing of dead rodents that includes a handle suitable to hingedly elevate the enclosure to cover a rodent.
It is yet another object of this invention to provide such a device that is inexpensive to implement and maintain while retaining its effectiveness.
Further objects of the invention will be brought out in the following part of the specification, wherein detailed description is for the purpose of fully disclosing the invention without placing limitations thereon.
With the above and other related objects in view, the invention consists in the details of construction and combination of parts as will be more fully understood from the following description, when read in conjunction with the accompanying drawings in which:
Referring now to the drawings, where the present invention is generally referred to with numeral 10, it can be observed that it basically includes a cover assembly 20, a connecting assembly 40, a handle assembly 60, and a shovel assembly 70. It should be understood there are modifications and variations of the invention that are too numerous to be listed but that all fit within the scope of the invention. Also, singular words should be read as plural and vice versa and masculine as feminine and vice versa, where appropriate, and alternative embodiments do not necessarily imply that the two are mutually exclusive.
The cover assembly 20 may include a cover 22, a base 25, a bottom cover 27 and an attaching member 23. The cover 22 may preferably have an hemispherical shape. It also may be suitable for the cover 22 to have a rectangular shape, a cylindrical shape, or any other suitable shape. The cover 22 may be hollow. The cover 22 may be made of plastic. It also may be suitable for the cover 22 to be made of aluminum, iron, or any other suitable material. As best illustrated in
The base 25 may substantially have a rectangular shape. It also may be suitable for the base 25 to have a triangular shape, or any other suitable shape. The base 25 may be made of plastic. It also may be suitable for the base 25 to be made of aluminum, iron, or any other suitable shape. The base 25 may be hingedly attached to the cover 22 through the connecting assembly 40.
The attaching member 23 may extend outwardly from a rear portion of the cover 22 to the connecting assembly 40. The attaching member 23 may be perpendicularly extended from the connecting assembly 40. The connecting assembly 40 may include a connecting member 42, a bottom pivoting member 31 and a top pivoting member 43. The connecting member 42 may preferably have a cylindrical shape. It also may be suitable for the connecting member 42 to have a rectangular shape, a triangular shape, or any other suitable shape. The connecting member 42 may be made of plastic. It also may be suitable for the connecting member 42 to be made of aluminum, iron, or any other suitable shape. The bottom pivoting member 31 may be attached to a bottom end of the connecting member 42. The top pivoting member 43 may be attached to a top end of the connecting member 42. The bottom pivoting member 31 may be hingedly connect the connecting member 42 with the base 25. The top pivoting member 43 may hingedly attach the connecting member 42 with the handle assembly 60. The top pivoting member 43 may hingedly move (movement C).
The handle assembly 60 may include a rod 62, a handle 65, a top protection 64, and a lever 66. The rod 62 may have a cylindrical shape. It also may be suitable for the rod 62 to have a rectangular shape, a triangular shape, or any other suitable shape. The rod 62 may preferably be made of polyurethane. It also may be suitable for the rod 62 to be made of aluminum, iron, or any other suitable material. The bottom end of the rod 62 may be hingedly connected to the connecting member 42. The top protection 64 may be a plastic portion covering the top end of the rod 62. The handle 65 may extend perpendicularly from the top protection. The handle 65 may have a curved elongated shape. The lever 66 may be hingedly attached to the handle 65. The lever 66 may be operatively connected to the connecting member 42. The lever 66 may be actuated (movement B) to hingedly open the cover 22 (movement A). In a preferred embodiment the present invention 10 may be operated to open the cover 22, take a rodent with a base 25, and cover the rodent with cover 22. It also may be suitable for the top protection 64 to include a second lever to actuate a hinge movement of the top pivoting member 43.
The shovel assembly 70 may include a shovel 72, a holder 73 and a receiving member 73a. The shovel 72 may have a blade 71. The shovel 72 may have an elongated rod having a bottom end with the bottom end having the blade 71 attached thereto. The shovel 72 may be made of polyurethane, aluminum, steel, or any other suitable material. The ring holder 73 may have a ring shape. It also may be suitable for the holder 73 to have a rectangular shape, a triangular shape, or any other suitable shape. The holder 73 may be made of aluminum, steel, or any other suitable material. The holder 73 may be attached to the rod 62. The holder 73 may have the receiving member 73a extending from the holder 73, therefore extending outwardly from the rod 62. The receiving member 73a may be flexible to receive the shovel 72. In one embodiment the receiving member 73a may be two protruding portions extending from the holder 73.
The foregoing description conveys the best understanding of the objectives and advantages of the present invention. Different embodiments may be made of the inventive concept of this invention. It is to be understood that all matter disclosed herein is to be interpreted merely as illustrative, and not in a limiting sense.
