The first side board and the second side board are respectively secured on two opposite walls of the toolbox to hold the main board in place. The main board has an area greater than that of the top of the toolbox and equally extends out of the top of the toolbox for preventing the toolbox from a crash. The main board has multiple recesses defined therein for receiving tools and small elements.
Description
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

1. Field of the Invention

The present invention relates to a tool platform, and more particularly to a tool platform that is mounted on a top of a toolbox.

2. Description of Related Art

Various tools, with different kinds and different standards, are necessary in a workplace. Consequently, a toolbox is prepared for containing the various tools. In addition, a tool platform is provided to be mounted on a top of the toolbox for user to temporarily place the using tools and preventing the door from often opening/closing.

However, the conventional tool platform usually has an integral structure such that the conventional tool platform has some disadvantages as follow.

1. The transport cost of the conventional tool platform is high because the conventional tool platform can not be disassembled to reduce the volume thereof when being transported.

2. The conventional tool platform has an integral structure such that the conventional tool platform can not be modified for different tool. Consequently, the using scope of the conventional tool platform is limited.

The present invention has arisen to mitigate and/or obviate the disadvantages of the conventional tool platform.

SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

The main objective of the present invention is to provide an improved tool platform that can be easily disassembled for reducing the volume during transporting.

To achieve the objective, the tool platform in accordance with the present invention comprises a main board mounted on a top of a toolbox, a first side board and a second side board respectively connected to two opposite sides of the main board.

Further benefits and advantages of the present invention will become apparent after a careful reading of the detailed description with appropriate reference to the accompanying drawings.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION

Referring to the drawings and initially to FIGS. 1-4, a tool platform in accordance with the present invention comprises a main board (10) adapted to be mounted on a top of a toolbox, a first side board (20) and a second side board (20′) respectively connected to two opposite sides of the main board (10). The first side board (20) and the second side board (20′) are adapted to be respectively secured on two opposite walls of the toolbox to hold the main board (10) in place.

The main board (10) has an area greater than that of the top of the toolbox and equally extending out of the top of the toolbox. The main board (10) has multiple recesses (11) defined therein for receiving tools and small elements, such as bolts, nails, nut and the like. The two opposite sides of the main board (10), which are connected to the first side board (20) and the second side board (20′), respectively has at least one dove-tail groove (12) laterally defined therein.

The first side board (20) and the second side board (20′) respectively have at least one dove-tail tenon (21, 21′) laterally extending therefrom. Each dove-tail tenon (21, 21′) slidably received in a corresponding one of the dove-tail grooves (12) in the main board (10) for serially connecting the first side board (20), the main board (10) and the second side board (20′). Each of the first side board (20) and the second side board (20′) has at least one fixing plate (22, 22′) that has two opposite ends respectively secured on the wall of the toolbox and the two side boards (20, 20′) to hold the first side board (20) and the second side board (20′) in place. In the preferred embodiment of the present invention, each of the first side board (20) and the second side board (20′) has at least one penetrating portion (23, 23′) defined therein for user to hold the first side board (20)/the second side board (20′) and easily move the toolbox.

With reference to FIG. 5 that shows a second embodiment of the tool platform in accordance with the present invention, the second side board (20′) has two penetrating portions (23′) defined therein for user to hold the second side board (20′) and easily move the toolbox. The first side board (20) has multiple through holes (24) defined therein and multiple Ω-shaped clamping structures (25) formed on one side of the first side board (20) opposite to the main board (10). The clamping structures (25) are provided to clamp sockets (not shown) and the through holes (24) are provides to position a wrench (not shown) that drives the sockets.

With reference to FIG. 6 that shows a third embodiment of the tool platform in accordance with the present invention, the second side board (20′) has two penetrating portions (23′) defined therein for user to hold the second side board (20′) and easily move the toolbox. The first side board (20) has multiple sunken holes (26) defined therein and extending therethrough. The sunken holes (26) are provided to hold screwdrivers and the tools that have a shaft structure.

As described above, the tool platform in accordance with the present invention includes several advantages as follow.

1. The tool platform of the present invention is assembled by three elements. Consequently, the tool platform of the present invention can be disassembled to reduce the volume thereof for reducing the transport cost.

2. The main board (10), the first side board (20) and the second side board (20′) are slidably connected to one another by dove-tail structure such that the tool platform of the present invention can be easily disassembled.

3. The first side board (20) and the second side board (20′) can be replaced to suit different workplaces and work conditions such that the using scope of the present invention is widened.

4. The main board (10), the first side board (20) and the second side board (20′) can prevent the toolbox from a crash.

Although the invention has been explained in relation to its preferred embodiment, it is to be understood that many other possible modifications and variations can be made without departing from the spirit and scope of the invention as hereinafter claimed.
