Claims
- 1. A modified UV absorber of the formula whereinR1 is C1-C12alkyl, C5-C7cycloalkyl or phenyl-C1-C3alkyl, R2 is hydrogen or halogen, n is 0, 1 or 2 and Q− is a counterion.
- 2. A compound of the formula (XVI) according to claim 1, wherein R1 is a C1-C6alkyl group; R2 is hydrogen or chlorine, n is 1 or 2 and Q− is a halide.
- 3. A compound of the formula (XVI) according to claim 1, wherein R1 is a C3-C5alkyl group; R2 is hydrogen or chlorine, n is 1 and Q− is a halide.
- 4. The compound of the formula according to claim 1.
- 5. A composition for human and animal hair, which comprises a modified UV absorber of the formula (XVI) according to claim 1.
- 6. A method of stabilizing the hair of humans and animals against degradation, which comprises contacting said hair with a composition according to claim 5.
- 7. A method according to claim 6, whereby the color fastness of the hair is improved.
