Claims
- 1. A tow hitch rear bumper assembly for a motor vehicle comprising:
a rear bumper for attachment to a frame of the motor vehicle; and a tow hitch extending through and integral with said rear bumper.
- 2. A tow hitch rear bumper assembly as set forth in claim 1 wherein said rear bumper includes a rear bumper beam extending transversely for attachment to the frame of the motor vehicle.
- 3. A tow hitch rear bumper assembly as set forth in claim 2 wherein said rear bumper beam is made of a metal material.
- 4. A tow hitch rear bumper assembly as set forth in claim 2 wherein said rear bumper beam extends transversely.
- 5. A tow hitch rear bumper assembly as set forth in claim 2 wherein said rear bumper beam is hollow and has a central closed cross-section with at least one aperture extending longitudinally through said closed cross-section.
- 6. A tow hitch rear bumper assembly as set forth in claim 2 wherein said rear bumper includes at least one bumper bracket connected to said rear bumper beam for attachment to the frame of the motor vehicle.
- 7. A tow hitch rear bumper assembly as set forth in claim 6 wherein said at least one bumper bracket has an aperture extending therethrough to receive said rear bumper beam.
- 8. A tow hitch rear bumper assembly as set forth in claim 6 wherein said at least one bumper bracket has a portion extending longitudinally beyond said rear bumper beam.
- 9. A tow hitch rear bumper assembly as set forth in claim 5 wherein said tow hitch includes a hitch receiver extending longitudinally through said at least one aperture and connected to said rear bumper beam.
- 10. A tow hitch rear bumper assembly as set forth in claim 9 wherein said tow hitch includes a hitch member connected to said hitch receiver and said rear bumper beam.
- 11. A tow hitch rear bumper assembly as set forth in claim 5 including a wiring receiver extending longitudinally through said at least one aperture and connected to said rear bumper beam.
- 12. A tow hitch rear bumper assembly for a motor vehicle comprising:
a rear bumper beam extending transversely for attachment to a frame of the motor vehicle, said rear bumper beam extends transversely and is hollow with a central closed cross-section; and a hitch receiver extending through said closed cross-section and connected to said rear bumper beam.
- 13. A tow hitch rear bumper assembly as set forth in claim 12 including a plurality of bumper brackets connected to said rear bumper beam for attachment to the frame of the motor vehicle.
- 14. A tow hitch rear bumper assembly as set forth in claim 13 wherein each of said bumper brackets have an aperture extending therethrough to receive said rear bumper beam.
- 15. A tow hitch rear bumper assembly as set forth in claim 13 wherein each of said bumper brackets have a portion extending longitudinally beyond said rear bumper beam.
- 16. A rear bumper system as set forth in claim 12 wherein said rear bumper beam includes at least one aperture extending longitudinally through said closed cross-section.
- 17. A tow hitch rear bumper assembly as set forth in claim 16 wherein said hitch receiver extends longitudinally through said at least one aperture and is welded to said rear bumper beam.
- 18. A tow hitch rear bumper assembly as set forth in claim 16 including a wiring receiver extending longitudinally through said at least one aperture and welded to said rear bumper beam.
- 19. A tow hitch rear bumper assembly as set forth in claim 12 including a hitch member connected to said hitch receiver and said rear bumper beam.
- 20. A tow hitch rear bumper assembly for a motor vehicle comprising:
a rear bumper beam extending transversely and a plurality of bumper brackets connected to said rear bumper beam for attachment to side rails of the motor vehicle, wherein each of said bumper brackets have a portion extending longitudinally beyond said rear bumper beam; and a hitch receiver extending through a closed cross-section of said rear bumper beam and welded to said rear bumper beam.
