Claims
- 1. A HTSC filter system comprising:a cryocooler unit coupled to a dewar assembly, said cryocooler unit including one or more heat rejector blocks on an exterior thereof; a heat dissipation assembly; a heat pipe containing a heat transfer fluid, said heat pipe having a first end thermally coupled to one of the one or more heat rejector blocks of said cryocooler unit and a second end thermally coupled to said heat dissipation assembly; a housing enclosing said cryocooler unit and said dewar assembly; and wherein said HTSC filter system is mountable atop a tower.
- 2. A HTSC system according to claim 1, wherein said housing is a double-walled aluminum canister.
- 3. A HTSC system according to claim 1, wherein said heat dissipation assembly comprises a base plate and a plurality of fins.
- 4. A HTSC system according to claim 3, wherein the base plate includes a heat pipe mounting section.
- 5. A HTSC system according to claim 4, wherein the heat pipe mounting section is inclined with respect to horizontal.
- 6. A HTSC system according to claim 1, wherein said dewar assembly includes a heat sink.
- 7. A HTSC system according to claim 6, wherein a plurality of HTSC filters are mounted on the heat sink.
- 8. A HTSC system according to claim 1, the first end of said heat pipe including wire mesh provided along an internal surface of said heat pipe.
- 9. A HTSC system according to claim 1, wherein said heat pipe comprises a sealed stainless steel tube, wherein ammonia is the heat transfer fluid.
- 10. A HTSC filter system according to claim 1 further comprising a screened enclosure including one or more fan units, the screened enclosure covering the heat dissipation assembly.
- 11. A method of producing a tower mountable HTSC filter system comprising the steps of:providing a cryocooler unit; providing a dewar assembly coupled to the cryocooler unit; providing a heat dissipation assembly; and providing at least one heat pipe containing a heat transfer fluid, the at least one heat pipe having a first end thermally coupled to the cryocooler unit and a second end thermally coupled to the heat dissipation assembly.
- 12. A method according to claim 11 further comprising the step of mounting said HTSC filter system to a tower.
- 13. A HTSC filter system comprising:a cryocooler unit coupled to a dewar assembly, said cryocooler unit including one or more heat rejector blocks on an exterior thereof; a heat dissipation assembly; a heat pipe containing a heat transfer fluid, said heat pipe having a first end thermally coupled to one of the one or more heat rejector blocks of said cryocooler unit and a second end thermally coupled to said heat dissipation assembly; a frame, wherein said cryocooler unit, said heat dissipation assembly, and said heat pipe are mounted to said frame; a housing enclosing said frame, said cryocooler unit, and said dewar assembly; and wherein said HTSC filter system is mountable atop a tower.
