- 1-21. (canceled).
- 22. A method for restricting the traffic in a packet-oriented connectionless network, comprising:
carrying out a reliability check for at least one priority class for a group of data packets routed via the network, the reliability checks performed with respect to a network input and a network output; and transmitting the groups of data packets with a requested priority permitted only if the reliability checks fail positively.
- 23. The method according to claim 22, wherein the group of data packets is specified by the data packets of a traffic stream or by the data packets of the priority class aggregated at a port.
- 24. The method according to claim 23, wherein the traffic stream is specified by a flow, the traffic stream allocated to a connection or including data packets with common address information.
- 25. The method according to claim 22, wherein a framework of the reliability checks of a rate of capacity utilization within an entire capacity of the network and an available bandwidth, the input-side and output-side network accesses are used when transmitting the group of data packets.
- 26. The method according to claim 25, wherein the traffic of the priority class of the traffic stream and/or the traffic of a priority class transmitted is higher or the same as the priority class of the group of data packets.
- 27. The method according to claim 22, wherein the group of data packets is rejected if there is a negative result of the reliability checks.
- 28. The method according to claim 22, wherein traffic parameters for the group of data packets routed through the network are reported in the network including information concerning required transmission resources.
- 29. The method according to claim 28, wherein the transmission resources are reserved in accordance with the traffic parameters.
- 30. The method according to claim 28, wherein a check is performed during transmission of the traffic to determine whether or not reported traffic parameters are adhered to.
- 31. The method according to claim 28, wherein the non-reported data packets are blocked-out or discarded.
- 32. The method according to claim 28, wherein the reliability checks are only carried out for prioritized traffic.
- 33. The method according to claim 22, wherein the non-prioritized data packets are transmitted with an enhanced quality.
- 34. A packet-oriented connectionless network for data transmission, comprising:
an auxiliary element for carrying out a reliability check at a network input and a network output; and a group of data packets transmitted via the auxiliary element of a priority class routed via the network.
- 35. The network according to claim 34, wherein the network is dimensioned according to limiting values for factors that determine a QoS.
- 36. The network according to claim 35, wherein the network is dimensioned in accordance with maximum values for statistical probability.
- 37. The network according to claim 34, wherein the network conforms to a single routing domain.
- 38. The network according to claim 34, wherein the data is transmitted via the network by an IP protocol.
- 39. A boundary node used in a packet-oriented connectionless network, comprising:
a plurality of boundary nodes having auxiliary means for carrying out a reliability check at the network input or at a network output for transmitting a traffic stream of a priority class routed via the network, wherein the network has auxiliary means for carrying out a reliability check at the network input or at the network output for transmitting a traffic stream of a priority class to be routed via the network.
- 40. The boundary node according to claim 39, wherein the auxiliary means for monitoring the traffic parameters are reported in the network.
- 41. A server to be used in a packet-oriented connectionless network, comprising:
a server having auxiliary means for carrying out a reliability check at the network input and at the network output for transmitting a group of data packets of a priority class to be routed via the network, wherein the network has auxiliary means for carrying out a reliability check at the network input or at the network output for transmitting a traffic stream of a priority class routed via the network.
- 42. The server according to claim 41, wherein the means for monitoring traffic parameters are reported in a network.
