Claims
- 1. A stiff heterophase naturally transparent gel candle, said candle comprising a transparent gel made of from about 70% to about 98% by weight of a hydrocarbon oil, and up to about 30% by weight of a copolymer selected from the group consisting of a triblock, radial block and multiblock copolymer, and optionally from 0 to about 10% by weight of a diblock copolymer, a wick contained in said gel; and one or more ornamental insoluble objects embedded in said gel;
- wherein said candle additionally comprises at least one additive selected from the group consisting of an anti-oxidant, stabilizer, fragrance, colorant, insect repellant, and flame retardant.
- 2. The candle according to claim 1, wherein said candle is contained in a jar.
- 3. The candle according to claim 1, wherein said candle comprises at least one anti-oxidant.
- 4. The candle according to claim 1, wherein said candle comprises at least one fragrance.
- 5. The candle according to claim 1, wherein said candle comprises at least one colorant.
- 6. The candle according to claim 1, wherein said candle comprises an insect repellant.
- 7. The candle according to claim 1, wherein the gel of said candle comprises from about 85% to about 98% by weight of a hydrocarbon oil, and from about 2% to about 15% by weight of a copolymer selected from the group consisting of a triblock, radial block and multiblock copolymer.
- 8. The candle according to claim 1, wherein the gel of said candle comprises from about 80% to about 93% by weight of a hydrocarbon oil, and from about 7% to about 20% by weight of a copolymer selected from the group consisting of a triblock, radial bock, and multiblock copolymer, and from about 0 to about 10% by weight of a diblock copolymer.
- 9. A candle according to claim 1, wherein said ornamental object comprises one or more insoluble shaped objects comprising stars, glitter, sparkles, ribbons, swirls or layers of colorant or combination of shaped objects.
- 10. A candle according to claim 1, wherein said ornamental object comprises stars.
- 11. A candle according to claim 9, wherein said ornamental object comprises glitter.
- 12. A candle according to claim 9, wherein said ornamental object comprises sparkles.
- 13. A candle according to claim 9, wherein said ornamental object comprises ribbons.
- 14. A candle according to claim 9, wherein said ornamental object comprises colorant.
- 15. A candle according to claim 9, wherein said candle is provided with flame coloring.
- 16. A candle according to claim 9, wherein said candle is provided with single or multicolored swirls or layers.
- 17. A candle according to claim 9 contained in a jar or mold.
- 18. A candle according to claim 1, wherein said wick is provided with striping, coloring, impregnation or a coating to provide special coloring or sparkling effects.
- 19. A candle according to claim 9, wherein said hydrocarbon oil is white oil.
- 20. A candle according to claim 19, wherein each of said copolymers contains at least two thermodynamically incompatible segments, and are selected from the group consisting of:
- (a) styrene-butadiene-styrene polymers;
- (b) styrene-isoprene-styrene polymers;
- (c) styrene-ethylene-butylene-styrene polymers;
- (d) styrene-ethylenepropylene polymers;
- (e) styrene-ethylenebutylene polymers;
- (f) styrene-butadiene polymers; and
- (g) styrene-isoprene polymers.
