Claims
- 1. A transportable weather shield comprising:
a sheet having a first end and a second end spaced from and opposed to the first end; a first support having an upper portion and a generally arcuate-shaped lower portion, the upper portion of the first support connected to the first end of the sheet; a first tensioner having a first end and a second end, the first end of the first tensioner connected to the first end of the sheet; a first stake connected to the second end of the first tensioner; a second support having an upper portion and a generally arcuate shaped lower portion, the upper portion of the second support connected to the second end of the sheet; a second tensioner having a first end and a second end, the first end of the second tensioner connected to the second end of the sheet and a second stake connected to the second end of the second tensioner,
whereby the weather shield, upon erection, is compliant and a position of the sheet is adjustable by an angular displacement of the first and second supports.
- 2. The transportable weather shield according to claim 1, wherein
the first end of the sheet has a first sleeve containing the upper portion of the first support; and the second end of the sheet has a second sleeve containing the upper portion of the second support.
- 3. The transportable weather shield according to claim 2, wherein
the first end of the sheet has a first plurality of spaced-apart tabs peripheral to the first sleeve; and the second end of the sheet has a second plurality of spaced-apart tabs peripheral to the second sleeve.
- 4. The transportable weather shield according to claim 3, wherein
each tab of the first plurality of spaced-apart tabs has a grommet; and each tab of the second plurality of spaced-apart tabs has a grommet.
- 5. The transportable weather shield according to claim 1, wherein
the first support is a generally oval-shaped first tubular hoop; and the second support is a generally oval-shaped second tubular hoop.
- 6. The transportable weather shield according to claim 5, wherein.
the first tubular hoop comprises a first plurality of separable segments; and the second tubular hoop comprises a second plurality of separable segments
- 7. The transportable weather shield according to claim 1, wherein the first tensioner comprises:
a first plurality of elastic members, each elastic member of the first plurality of elastic members having a first end and a second end, the first end removably connected to the first end of the sheet; and a first link removably connected to the second end of each elastic member of the first plurality of elastic members and removably connected to the first stake; and the second tensioner comprises:
a second plurality of elastic members, each elastic member of the second plurality of elastic members having a first end and a second end, the first end removably connected to the second end of the sheet; and a second link removably connected to the second end of each elastic member of the second plurality of elastic members and removably connected to the second stake.
- 8. The transportable weather shield according to claim 7, wherein the first link comprises:
a first ring removably connected to the second end of each elastic member of the first plurality of elastic members; and a first web having a first end and a second end spaced an adjustable first length from the first end, the first end connected to the first ring, the second end removably connected to the first stake; and the second link comprises:
a second ring removably connected to the second end of each elastic member of the second plurality of elastic members; and a second web having a first end and a second end spaced an adjustable second distance from the first end, the first end connected to the second ring, the second end removably connected to the second stake.
- 9. The transportable weather shield according to claim 1, wherein the first and second stakes comprise:
an upper portion and a lower portion, the upper portion being an attachment, the lower portion being a penetrator.
- 10. The transportable weather shield according to claim 9 wherein the attachment is a loop and the penetrator is a screw.
- 11. A transportable weather shield comprising:
a sheet having a first end and a second end spaced from and opposed to the first end, the first end of the sheet having a first sleeve and a first plurality of spaced-apart tabs peripheral to the first sleeve, each tab of the first plurality of spaced-apart tabs having a grommet, the second end of the sheet having a second sleeve and a second plurality of spaced-apart tabs peripheral to the second sleeve, each tab of the second plurality of spaced-apart tabs having a grommet; a first generally oval-shaped tubular hoop having an upper portion and a lower portion, the upper portion contained in the first sleeve, the first tubular hoop comprising a first plurality of separable segments; a first tensioner comprising a first link and a first plurality of elastic members, the first link comprising a first ring and a first web having a first end and a second end spaced an adjustable first length from the first end, the first end being connected to the first ring, each elastic member of the first plurality of elastic members having a first end and a second end, the first end of each elastic member removably connected to the grommet of a corresponding tab of the first plurality of spaced-apart tabs peripheral to the first sleeve of the first end of the sheet, the second end of each elastic member removably connected to the first ring of the first link; a first stake removably connected to the second end of the first web of the first link; a second generally oval-shaped tubular hoop having an upper portion and a lower portion, the upper portion contained in the second sleeve, the second tubular hoop comprising a second plurality of separable segments; a second tensioner comprising a second link and a second plurality of elastic members, the second link comprising a second ring and a second web having a first end and a second end spaced an adjustable second length from the first end, the first end being connected to the second ring, each elastic member of the second plurality of elastic members having a first end and a second end, the first end of each elastic member removably connected to the grommet of a corresponding tab of the second plurality of spaced-apart tabs peripheral to the second sleeve of the second end of the sheet, the second end of each elastic member removably connected to the second ring of the second link; a second stake removably connected to the second end of the second web of the second link.
- 12. The transportable weather shield according to claim 11 further comprising:
a canopy in the general shape of a semi-cylindrical surface, the canopy formed by the sheet, a first side panel having the general shape of a semi-circle, the first side panel integral with the first end of the sheet and a second side panel having the general shape of a semi-circle, the second side panel integral with the second end of the sheet.
- 13. The transportable weather shield according to claim 12 wherein the first and second side panels are removably attached to the sheet.
- 14. A transportable weather shield comprising:
a sheet having a first end and a second end spaced from and opposed to the first end, the first end of the sheet having a first sleeve, the second end of the sheet having a second sleeve; a first support having an upper portion and a generally arcuate shaped lower portion, the upper portion of the first support being in the first sleeve; a first tensioner having a first end and a second end, the first end of the first tensioner connected to the first end of the sheet; a first stake connected to the second end of the first tensioner; a second support having an upper portion and a generally arcuate shaped lower portion, the upper portion of the second support being in the second sleeve; a second tensioner having a first end and a second end, the first end of the second tensioner connected to the second end of the sheet and a second stake connected to the second end of the second tensioner, a third sleeve integral with the sheet, the third sleeve spaced between the first and second sleeves; a third support having an upper portion and a generally arcuate shaped lower portion, the upper portion of the third support being in the third sleeve;
whereby the weather shield, upon erection, is compliant and a position of the sheet is adjustable by an angular displacement of the first, second and third supports.
- 15. The transportable weather shield according to claim 14 further comprising:
a first strut removably connected to the first support, the first strut extending from the upper portion of the first support to the lower portion of the first support; and a second strut removably connected to the second support, the second strut extending from the upper portion of the second support to the lower portion of the second support.
- 16. A transportable weather shield comprising:
a sheet having a first end and a second end spaced from and opposed to the first end; a first support having an upper portion and a generally arcuate-shaped lower portion, the upper portion of the first support connected to the first end of the sheet; a first tensioner having a first end and a second end, the first end of the first tensioner connected to the first end of the sheet; a first stake connected to the second end of the first tensioner; a second support having an upper portion and a generally arcuate shaped lower portion, the upper portion of the second support connected to the second end of the sheet; a second tensioner having a first end and a second end, the first end of the second tensioner connected to the second end of the sheet and a second stake connected to the second end of the second tensioner,
whereby the weather shield, upon erection, is sized to be dimensionally scaled to a standard 12 ounce beverage can.
- 17. A transportable combination weather shield and billboard comprising:
a sheet having a first end and a second end spaced from and opposed to the first end, the sheet having a surface area for receiving advertising; a first support having an upper portion and a generally arcuate-shaped lower portion, the upper portion of the first support connected to the first end of the sheet; a first tensioner having a first end and a second end, the first end of the first tensioner connected to the first end of the sheet; a first stake connected to the second end of the first tensioner; a second support having an upper portion and a generally arcuate shaped lower portion, the upper portion of the second support connected to the second end of the sheet; a second tensioner having a first end and a second end, the first end of the second tensioner connected to the second end of the sheet and a second stake connected to the second end of the second tensioner,
whereby the weather shield, upon erection, positions the surface area to be readily viewed from an area external to the weather shield.
