Claims
- 1. Apparatus which hydraulically transports a mixture of sulfur pellets, sulfur fines and coarse impurities with the removal of sulfur, which comprises the combination of:a) a first pump for pumping water from a water supply tank into a supply of said mixture as a jet stream to produce a water slurry containing said sulfur pellets and sulfur fines, b) a second pump for pumping the water slurry upward to a series of screens, c) a series of screens to separate from said water slurry, large lumps, coarse impurities, and a sulfur fines slurry, to yield the desired sulfur pellet slurry, d) a dewatering disk to remove substantially all the remaining water from the sulfur pellet slurry, e) a hydrocyclone to separate substantially all the water from the sulfur fines slurry, f) a first tank for the recovery of said sulfur fines slurry, g) a third pump for pumping the sulfur fines slurry to said hydrocyclone, and h) a second tank for recovery of recycled water.
- 2. The apparatus as set forth in claim 1, which comprises in addition one or more magnetic separators to remove iron or steel impurities.
- 3. The apparatus as set forth in claim 1, which comprises in addition, a water sprayer to wash the sulfur pellets.
- 4. The apparatus as set forth in claim 1, which comprises in addition, a preservative sprayer to preserve the sulfur pellets.
- 5. Apparatus which hydraulically transports a mixture of sulfur pellets, sulfur fines and coarse impurities and with the control of acidity, which comprises the combination of:a) a first pump for pumping water from a water supply tank into a supply of said mixture as a jet stream to produce a water slurry containing said sulfur pellets and sulfur fines, b) a second pump for pumping the water slurry upward to a series of screens, c) a series of screens to separate from said water slurry large lumps and impurities, a sulfur fines slurry, and a resultant sulfur pellet slurry, d) a dewatering disk to remove substantially all the remaining water from the sulfur pellet slurry, e) a hydrocyclone to separate substantially all the water from the sulfur fines slurry, f) a first tank for the recovery of said sulfur fines slurry, g) a third pump for pumping the sulfur fines slurry to said hydrocyclone, h) a second tank for recovery of recycled water, and i) a pH meter in contact with said water slurry to determine the need for additions of basic materials.
- 6. The apparatus as set forth in claim 5, which comprises in addition, one or more magnetic separators to remove iron or steel impurities.
- 7. The apparatus as set forth in claim 5, which comprises in addition, a water sprayer to wash the sulfur pellets.
- 8. The apparatus as set forth in claim 5, which comprises in addition, a preservative sprayer to preserve the sulfur pellets.
