Claims
- 1. A method for enhancing recovery of exopolysaccharide from bacterial cells which comprises including (a) alkylsulfosuccinate surfactant and (b) polyoxyethylene-polyoxypropylene block copolymer in a cultivation medium.
- 2. The method of claim 1 wherein the weight ratio of (a):(b) is from about 4:1 to 1:10.
- 3. The method of claim 2 wherein the weight ratio of (a):(b) is from about 1:1 to 1:2.
- 4. The method of claim 1 wherein the block copolymer contains from about 1 to 50% polyoxyethylene.
- 5. The method of claim 1 wherein the molecular weight of the block copolymer is from about 1800-4000.
- 6. The method of claim 1 wherein from about 0.1-150 ppm of the alkylsulfosuccinate surfactant is included in the cultivation medium.
- 7. The method of claim 1 wherein the alkylsulfosuccinate surfactant comprises diallylsulfosuccinate.
- 8. The method of claim 7 wherein the dialkylsulfosuccinate comprises dinonylsulfosuccinate.
- 9. The method of claim 1 wherein the alkylsulfosuccinate surfactant comprises alkylsulfosuccinate of formula:RO2CCH2CH(SO3−M+)CO2R1 where R═C8 or C9, R1═R or H and M═Na or K.
- 10. A method for enhancing recovery of exopolysaccharide from bacterial cells which comprises including (a) alkylsulfosuccinate surfactant and (b) polyoxyethylene-polyoxypropylene block copolymer in a cultivation medium, during the growth phase of bacterial cells in the cultivation medium.
- 11. The method of claim wherein the weight ratio of (a):(b) is from about 4:1 to 1:10.
- 12. The method of claim 11 wherein the weight ratio of (a):(b) is from about 1:1 to 1:2.
- 13. The method of claim 10 wherein the block copolymer contains from about 1 to 50% polyoxyethylene.
- 14. The method of claim 10 wherein the molecular weight of the block copolymer is from about 1800-4000.
- 15. The method of claim 10 wherein from about 0.1-150 ppm of the alkylsulfosuccinate surfactant is included in the cultivation Medium.
- 16. The method of claim 10 wherein the alkylsulfosuccinate surfactant comprises dialkylsulfosuccinate.
- 17. The method of claim 16 wherein the dialkylsulfosuccinate comprises dinonylsulfosuccinate.
- 18. The method of claim 10 wherein the alkylsulfosuccinate surfactant comprises alkylsulfosuccinate of formula:RO2CCH2CH(SO3−M+)CO2R1 where R═C8 or C9, R1═R or H and M═Na or K.
