Claims
- 1. A method of treating congestive heart failure in a mammal who is not a GH-deficient adult, said method comprising administering to said mammal an effective amount of a combination of GH and IGF-I.
- 2. The method of claim 1 wherein the growth hormone is human growth hormone and the IGF-I is human IGF-I.
- 3. The method of claim 2 wherein the mammal is a human.
- 4. The method of claim 3 wherein the effective amount of each of GH and IGF-I is between about 0.01 and about 1 mg/kg/day.
- 5. The method of claim 4 wherein the administration of GH or IGF-I or both is by the subcutaneous or intravenous route.
- 6. The method of claim 5 wherein the GH is administered once daily and the IGF-I is administered twice daily.
- 7. The method of claim 1 wherein the congestive heart failure results from acute or chronic ischemia.
- 8. The method of claim 1 wherein the congestive heart failure results from myocardial infarction.
