Claims
- 1. A method for removing vanadate values from an alkaline Stretford Process solution, said method comprising
- contacting said Stretford Process solution with an anion exchange resin which takes up vanadate values, and
- removing said Stretford Process solution from said anion exchange resin, leaving vanadate values in said anion exchange resin.
- 2. The method of claim 1 wherein said Stretford Process solution is substantially free of sulfur particles.
- 3. The method of claim 1 wherein said alkaline Stretford process is at a pH in the range of about 8.5 to about 9.0.
- 4. The method of claim 1 wherein there is performed the additional step of regenerating the anion exchange resin by eluting the vanadate values therefrom.
- 5. The method of claim 1 wherein there is performed the additional step of recovering the vanadate values from the anion exchange resin by use of a wash liquid which takes up the vanadate values.
- 6. The method of claim 1 wherein there is performed the additional step of washing vanadate values from the anion exchange resin by using a liquid wash having a temperature in the range of about 35.degree. C. to about 100.degree. C.
- 7. The method of claim 1 wherein there is performed the additional step of washing vanadate values from said anion exchange resin by using an alkaline aqueous wash.
- 8. The method of claim 1 wherein there is performed the additional step of washing vanadate values from the anion exchange resin by using an alkaline aqueous wash having a temperature in the range of about 35.degree. C. to about 100.degree. C.
- 9. The method of claim 1 wherein there is performed the additional step of washing vanadate values from the anion exchange resin by using an aqueous wash solution containing inert organic material.
- 10. The method of claim 11 wherein vanadate values comprise sodium vanadate.
