Claims
- 1. The method of combatting depression in a mammal exhibiting depressive symptoms comprising administering to said mammal an antidepressively effective quantity of an antidepressive composition suitable for administration to mammals comprising an antidepressive amount of a compound of the formula ##SPC7##
- or salts thereof with pharmaceutically acceptable acids wherein R.sub.1 is a moiety selected from the group consisting of hydrogen and methyl, R.sub.2 is a moiety selected from the group consisting of hydrogen and methyl, R.sub.3 is a moiety selected from the group consisting of hydrogen, alkyl, alkoxyalkyl alkylthioalkyl, alkylsulphoxyalkyl each of up to eight carbon atoms and benzyo, R.sub.4 and R.sub.5 are each moieties selected from the group consisting of hydrogen, alkoxy of up to six carbon atoms, alkyl of up to six carbon atoms and halogen and R.sub.6 is a moiety selected from the group consisting of trifluoromethyl and halogen with the proviso that at least one of R.sub.1, R.sub.2 and R.sub.3 is other than hydrogen when two of R.sub.4, R.sub.5 and R.sub.6 are orthochloro.
- 2. The method of claim 1 wherein from 10 to 500 mg of the compound is administered to the mammal daily.
- 3. The method of claim 1 wherein from 10 to 150 mg of the compound is administered to the mammal daily.
- 4. The method of claim 1 wherein the compound is 0-(2-amino-ethyl)-4'(trifluoro-methyl)-hexanophenone oxime.
