Claims
- 1. A ceramic honeycomb molten metal filter having a triangular cell cross-section, a cell density in the range of 80-160 triangular cells/in.sup.2 of filter frontal area, a channel length in the range of about 0.3-0.8 inches, a filter unit surface area in the range of 32-50 in.sup.2 /in.sup.3, a channel hydraulic diameter in the range of 0.055-0.085 inches, a cell wall thickness in the range of 0.009-0.019 inches, and a percent open frontal area in the range of 60-75%.
- 2. A filter in accordance with claim 1 having a cell density in the range of 90-150 cells/in.sup.2, a filter unit surface area in the range of 34-42 in.sup.2 /in.sup.3, a channel hydraulic diameter in the range of 0.065-0.080 inches, a cell wall thickness in the range of 0.012-0.018 inches, and a percent open frontal area in the range of 60-70%.
