a first channel section configured for attachment to a face of said door section; and a second channel section having first and second closed ends, said second channel section interlocking with said first channel section to form said trim board system.
- 2. A trim board system as claimed in claim 1 wherein said first channel section comprises:
a surface portion having a first side and a second side, said first side of said surface portion being configured for attachment to said face of said door section; a first lip formed along a first edge of said surface portion; and a second lip formed along a second edge of said surface portion, said first and second lips extending from said second side of said surface portion.
- 3. A trim board system as claimed in claim 2 wherein said first and second edges are substantially parallel longitudinal edges of said surface portion.
- 4. A trim board system as claimed in claim 1 wherein:
said first channel section includes a first surface portion and a first lip formed along a first edge of said first surface portion; and said second channel section includes a second surface portion and a second lip formed along a second edge of said second surface portion, said first and second lips being configured for mating engagement.
- 5. A trim board system as claimed in claim 4 wherein:
said first channel section includes a third lip formed along a third edge of said first surface portion; and said second channel section includes a fourth lip formed along a fourth edge of said second surface portion, said third and fourth lips being configured for mating engagement.
- 6. A trim board system as claimed in claim 5 wherein:
said first and third edges are substantially parallel longitudinal edges of said first surface portion; and said second and fourth edges are substantially parallel longitudinal edges of said second surface portion.
- 7. A trim board system as claimed in claim 4 wherein:
said first lip includes a flanged longitudinal edge; and said second lip includes a folded longitudinal edge, said folded longitudinal edge engaging said flanged longitudinal edge.
- 8. A trim board system as claimed in claim 1 wherein said first and second channel sections are formed from steel.
- 9. A trim board system as claimed in claim 1 wherein said second channel section is formed from sheet metal, said sheet metal being configured to replicate an appearance of wood by rotary embossing said sheet metal with a wood grain pattern.
- 10. A trim board system as claimed in claim 1 further comprising brace means juxtaposed between said first and second channel sections.
- 11. A trim board system as claimed in claim 10 wherein said brace means comprises a longitudinally extending rib of said first channel section.
- 12. A trim board system as claimed in claim 10 wherein said brace means comprises an insulating foam board.
- 13. A door section for a carriage house replica garage door comprising:
a sheet metal layer having an outer surface and an inner surface; a trim board system including:
a first channel section attached to said sheet metal layer; a second channel section having first and second closed ends, said second channel section interlocking with said first channel section; said second channel section being formed from sheet metal, said sheet metal being configured to replicate an appearance of wood by rotary embossing said sheet metal with a wood grain pattern; and brace means juxtaposed between said first and second channel sections.
- 14. A door section as claimed in claim 13 wherein:
said first channel section includes a first surface portion and a first lip formed along a first edge of said first surface portion; and said second channel section includes a second surface portion and a second lip formed along a second edge of said second surface portion, said first and second lips being configured for mating engagement.
- 15. A door section as claimed in claim 14 wherein:
said first lip includes a flanged longitudinal edge; and said second lip includes a folded longitudinal edge, said folded longitudinal edge engaging said flanged longitudinal edge.
- 16. A door section as claimed in claim 13 wherein said brace means comprises a longitudinally extending rib of said first channel section.
- 17. A door section as claimed in claim 13 wherein a finished height of said door section is substantially twenty-eight inches.
- 18. A trim board system for a door section of a carriage house replica garage door comprising:
a first steel channel section having a first surface portion configured for attachment to a face of said door section and a first lip formed along a first edge of said first surface portion; and a second steel channel section having first and second closed ends, said second steel channel section further having a second surface portion and a second lip formed along a second edge of said second surface portion, said second lip having an inner side that engages with an outer side of said first lip.
- 19. A trim board system as claimed in claim 18 wherein:
said first channel section includes a third lip formed along a third edge of said first surface portion; and said second channel section includes a fourth lip formed along a fourth edge of said second surface portion, said fourth lip having a second inner side that engages with a second outer side of said third lip.
- 20. A trim board system as claimed in claim 18 wherein:
