Claims
- 1. A trim piece mounting arrangement for an electronic equipment cabinet, the cabinet comprising a frame having at least one mounting surface, the trim piece mounting arrangement comprising:
a trim piece having an inner surface and an outer surface; and means for attaching the trim piece to the mounting surface of the frame.
- 2. The trim piece mounting arrangement as recited in claim 1, wherein the mounting surface of the frame comprises a mounting surface having a plurality of perforations and wherein the means for attaching the trim piece to the mounting surface comprises at least one extension positioned on the inner surface of the trim piece and wherein the at least one extension is engagable with at least one of the perforations of the mounting surface.
- 3. The trim piece mounting arrangement as recited in claim 2, wherein the at least one extension comprises at least one threaded extension.
- 4. The trim piece mounting arrangement as recited in claim 1, wherein the means for attaching the trim piece to the mounting surface of the frame comprises at least one spacer, the at least one spacer comprising means for attaching the at least one spacer to the mounting surface and means for attaching the trim piece to the at least one spacer.
- 5. The trim piece mounting arrangement as recited in claim 4, wherein the means for attaching the at least one spacer to the mounting surface comprises a threaded extension on the at least one spacer.
- 6. The trim piece mounting arrangement as recited in claim 4, wherein the means for attaching the trim piece to the at least one spacer comprises at least one recess in the at least one spacer.
- 7. The trim piece mounting arrangement as recited in claim 6, wherein the at least one recess in the at least one spacer comprises a set of parallel recesses in the at least one spacer.
- 8. The trim piece mounting arrangement as recited in claim 1, wherein the trim piece comprises an elongated trim piece.
- 9. The trim piece mounting arrangement as recited in claim 1, wherein the means for attaching the trim piece to the mounting surface of the frame comprises at least one spacer, and wherein the trim piece comprises means for attaching the trim piece to the at least one spacer.
- 10. The trim piece mounting arrangement as recited in claim 9, wherein the means for attaching the trim piece to the at least one spacer comprises at least one extension on the trim piece.
- 11. The trim piece mounting arrangement as recited in claim 10, wherein the at least one extension on the trim piece comprises at lease one projection.
- 12. The trim piece mounting arrangement as recited in claim 1, wherein the trim piece comprises an elongated trim piece comprising at least one extension and at least one projection on the at least one extension and wherein the means for attaching the trim piece to the mounting surface of the frame comprises at least one spacer having at least one recess wherein the at least one projection of the trim piece is engagable with the at least one recess in the spacer.
- 13. The trim piece mounting arrangement as recited in claim 1, wherein the frame comprises at least one structural member having an elongated open channel having an internal surface, wherein the mounting surface comprises the internal surface of the channel.
- 14. The trim piece mounting arrangement as recited in claim 13, wherein the means for attaching the trim piece to the mounting surface comprises indentations or projections on the mounting surface.
- 15. The trim piece mounting arrangement as recited in claim 14, wherein the trim piece comprises at least one extension engagable with the indentations or projections on the mounting surface.
- 16. A method of mounting a trim piece to an electronic equipment cabinet having a mounting surface, the method comprising:
providing at least one spacer having a main body portion and a recess positioned in the main body portion; providing a trim piece having at least one extension engagable with the recess; mounting the at least one spacer to the mounting surface of the cabinet; and attaching the trim piece to the at least one spacer wherein the at least one extension engages the recess in the spacer.
- 17. The method as recited in claim 16, wherein the mounting surface comprises a plurality of perforations, wherein mounting the at least one spacer to the mounting surface comprises engaging the at least one spacer with the plurality of perforations.
- 18. The method of claim 16, wherein the at least one spacer comprises at least one threaded end, wherein mounting the at least one spacer to the mounting surface comprises threading the at least one threaded end of the spacer into the plurality of threaded perforations.
- 19. The method as recited in claim 16, wherein attaching the trim piece to the at least one spacer comprises compressing the trim piece on to the at least one spacer wherein the trim pieces snaps on to the at least one spacer.
- 20. The method as recited in claim 16, wherein attaching the trim piece to the at least one spacer comprises slidably engaging the trim piece with the at least one spacer.
- 21. A trim piece attachable to a mounting surface of an electronic equipment cabinet, the trim piece comprising:
an elongated flexible member having an inner surface and an outer surface; and at least one extension on the inner surface for attaching the elongated flexible member to the mounting surface of the frame.
- 22. The trim piece as recited in claim 21 wherein the at least one extension comprises at least two elongated flexible extensions.
- 23. The trim piece as recited in claim 22, wherein the mounting surface comprises at least one spacer mounted to the mounting surface, and wherein the at least two elongated flexible extensions comprise at least two elongated flexible extensions having transverse projections, the transverse projections engagable with the at least one spacer.
- 24. The trim piece as recited in claim 21, wherein the at least one extension comprises at least one flexible arcuate extension.
- 25. The trim piece as recited in claim 24, wherein the at least one flexible arcuate extension comprises at least one circular flexible extension.
