Claims
- 1. A set of strings for a musical instrument, said set of strings comprising:
- a plurality of strings having a first end and a second end and a predetermined length between said first and second ends, said predetermined length being selected to correspond with a convergence length at which harmonic and pitch tuning of corresponding ones of said plurality of strings are simultaneously obtained upon placement of said strings in their assembled and tuned position within an associated stringed instrument.
- 2. The set of strings of claim 1 wherein said musical instrument is a guitar and said plurality of strings comprise six strings, each of said six strings corresponding to the musical notes E, A, D, G, B and E respectively.
- 3. The set of strings of claim 1, further comprising a first anchor affixed to said first end of each of said plurality of strings and a second anchor affixed to said second end of each of said plurality of strings.
- 4. The set of strings of claim 3, wherein said first and second anchor comprises respective first and second bullets.
- 5. The set of strings of claim 1, wherein said musical instrument is a guitar including a nut and a bridge having a plurality of bridge critical contact surfaces each spaced at a desired distance from said nut, said convergence length of each said plurality of strings being equal to the distance between said nut and said bridge critical contact surfaces plus an additional distance required to permit tuning of the guitar in such a manner so as to simultaneously obtain harmonic and pitch tuning of the corresponding plurality of strings.
- 6. The set of strings of claim 1 wherein at least certain of said plurality of strings have a different predetermined length.
- 7. A string for a musical instrument, said string comprising a first end and a second end and having a predetermined length between said first and second ends, said predetermined length selected to correspond with a convergence length at which harmonic and pitch tuning are simultaneously obtained upon placement of said string in its assembled and tuned position within an associated stringed instrument.
- 8. The string of claim 7, further comprising a first anchor affixed to said first end and a second anchor affixed to said second end.
- 9. The set of strings of claim 8, wherein said first and second anchor comprises respective first and second bullets.
- 10. The string of claim 7, wherein said musical instrument is a guitar including a nut and a bridge having a bridge critical contact surface spaced at a desired distance from said nut, said convergence length being equal to the distance between said nut and said bridge critical contact surface plus an additional distance required to permit tuning of the guitar in such a manner so as to simultaneously obtain harmonic and pitch tuning of said string.
