Claims
- 1. A method for detecting the status of an installed gasket comprising providing a gasket having a compression surface and a detection surface, said detection surface having a plurality of generally equally spaced projections extending in series therefrom, spaced and configured to visually appear as a segmented border extending in a defined direction, installing said gasket on a gasket receiving component of an assembly, visually observing the direction of the segmented border and comparing the observed direction to said defined direction.
- 2. The method of claim 1 wherein a second component is assembled to said gasket receiving component and the direction of the segmented border is thereafter compared to the defined direction.
- 3. The method of claim 1 wherein said components are comprised in an automotive heat exchanger assembly.
- 4. The method of claims 2 wherein said components are comprised in an automotive heat exchanger assembly.
