Claims
- 1. A video color signal transmission system comprising:
- a first coupler providing video color signals including first (B), second (G), and third (R) video color signals;
- a plurality of first signal frequency shapers, each including circuit means responsive to signals from said first coupler for separately boosting the high frequency response of at least one of said video color signals;
- a transmission cable including first and second ends and including a plurality of twisted pair communications lines, each of said lines having first and second ends corresponding to those of said transmission cable, one of said communications lines being coupled at a said first end to one of said first signal frequency shapers and responsive to one of said video color signals and carrying a video color signal to a said second end of a said communications line and at a second end of said transmission cable;
- a plurality of second signal frequency shapers, each being responsive to said video color signals from said second end of a said communication line and boosting the high frequency response of a portion of a received video color signal; and
- an output coupler responsive to said second frequency shapers and separately receiving said video color signals and processing said color video signals; and
- wherein a discrete signal delay is effected by the discrete twist rate of one of said twisted pair communications lines.
- 2. A transmission system as set forth in claim 1 wherein:
- the twist rates of different said twisted pair communications lines are different.
- 3. A transmission system as set forth in claim 2 wherein:
- each said second signal frequency shaper includes a plurality of signal paths, each path having a different time constant wherein different portions of the frequency spectrum of a video color signal are discretely boosted.
- 4. A transmission system as set forth in claim 3 wherein said second signal frequency shaper includes feedback means responsive to an output of said second signal frequency shaper and includes frequency attenuation means, wherein said second signal frequency shaper includes a differential amplifier, and means responsive to the output of said differential amplifier for reducing the signal overshoot in the output of said differential amplifier.
- 5. A transmission system as set forth in claim 1 further comprising a signal delay circuit coupled to at least two of said three video color signals being transmitted between a first frequency signal shaper and said output coupler wherein said two of said three video color signals are delayed.
- 6. A transmission system as set forth in claim 5 wherein:
- a different said signal delay circuit is coupled to each of said at least two said three color signals.
- 7. A transmission system as set forth in claim 5 wherein said signal delay circuit includes a plurality of transmission lines of a discrete length and switching means for selectively inserting one or more of said transmission lines in series to provide a plurality of signal delays.
- 8. A transmission system as set forth in claim 5 wherein:
- said signal delay circuit is a balanced transmission line.
- 9. A transmission system as set forth in claim 5 wherein:
- said delay circuit is coupled to said second end of a said communications line of said transmission cable.
- 10. A transmission system as set forth in claim 1 wherein:
- the twist rate of said twisted pair communications lines, carrying a (R) color signal has the lowest twist rate, and the twisted pair communications lines having the next largest twist rate carries the (G) color signal.
- 11. A transmission system as set forth in claim 1 wherein:
- one of said twisted pair communications lines has the largest twist rate of said twisted pair lines of said transmission cable and said one line carries synchronization signals passing from said first end to said second end of said transmission cable.
- 12. A transmission system as set forth in claim 1 wherein:
- each said first frequency signal shaper includes a plurality of parallel signal paths, each path having a different time constant wherein different portions of the frequency spectrum of a said video color signal are discretely boosted.
- 13. A transmission system as set forth in claim 12 wherein said first signal frequency shaper includes switching means for interrupting at least one of said parallel signal paths.
- 14. A transmission system as set forth in claim 12 wherein said first signal frequency shaper includes a differential amplifier and means for maintaining the outputs of said differential amplifier as a balanced output within a selected range of levels.
- 15. A transmission system as set forth in claim 1 wherein said output coupler comprises an analog color monitor.
- 16. A video color signal transmission system comprising:
- a signal circuit providing video color signals including first (B), second (G), and third (R) video color signals; each with respect to a common potential reference;
- a plurality of first signal modifiers, each said modifier including signal means for receiving one said video color signal from said signal circuit and providing a differential, balanced, output of each said video color signal;
- a transmission cable including first and second ends and including a plurality of twisted pair communications lines, each having first and second ends, one of said communications lines being coupled at its said first end to one of said first signal modifiers and to one of said video color signals and carrying a said video color signal to said second end of a said communications line, and each of said communications lines providing a discrete signal delay as a function of twist rate of said communications lines;
- a plurality of signal frequency shapers, each being responsive to signals from a said second end of a said communications line, and boosting the high frequency response of video color signal; and
- a plurality of second signal modifiers responsive to signals shaped by a said signal frequency shaper for translating the signal state of each video color signal from a balanced, differential, signal to a signal appearing with respect to a common reference, and
- coupling means for coupling the output of said signal shapers to a color video monitor.
- 17. A video color signal transmission system set forth in claim 16 wherein said transmission cable further includes a twisted pair transmission line having first and second ends, synchronization signals being applied to said first end and received from said second end.
- 18. A transmission system set forth in claim 16 wherein each said signal frequency shaper includes a plurality of parallel signals paths, each path having a different time constant wherein different portions of the frequency spectrum of said color signal are discretely boosted.
- 19. A transmission system set forth in claim 18 wherein a said shaper includes feedback means responsive to an output of said signal frequency shaper and includes attenuation means, wherein said attenuation means includes a differential amplifier, and means responsive to the output of said differential amplifier for reducing signal overshoot in the output of said differential amplifier.

This application claims the benefit of U.S. Provisional Application Ser. No. 60/010,741, filed Jan. 29, 1996 entitled "Compensating Circuitry For Simultaneously Transmitted Signals," and wherein the inventors of said provisional application and three of the inventors of the present application are the same.
This application is also a continuation-in-part of application Ser. No. 08/741,697, filed Oct. 31, 1996, which is a continuation-in-part of application Ser. No. 08/177,442, filed on Jan. 5, 1994, and now abandoned, which is a continuation-in-part of application Ser. No. 07/912,689, filed on Jul. 13, 1992, now U.S. Pat. No. 5,276,404. With respect to the said application Ser. No. 08/741,697, the pertinent portion incorporated by reference is the subject matter of FIGS. 1-5, 6, and 8 and the test portions relating thereto. With respect to patent application Ser. No. 07/912,689, FIG. 1 and the description thereof is the pertinent portion incorporated. FIGS. 1, 7, 7c, and 9 and the description thereof are deemed pertinent with respect to patent application Ser. No. 08/177,442.
