- 2. The pulley of claim 1, further comprising:
the first and second disks each having a cylindrical center hub that extends around the center hole with the hub, the connection surface, the drive surface and the rim of each disk being one monolithic piece.
- 3. The pulley of claim 2 further comprising:
the hub, the connection surface, the drive surface and the rim of each disk having been formed from a single stamped circular piece of metal..
- 4. The pulley of claim 1, further comprising:
the connection surfaces of the first and second disks being secured together by a brazing material.
- 5. The pulley of claim 4 further comprising:
the connection surfaces of the first and second disks also being secured together by a mechanical connection.
- 6. The pulley of claim 5, further comprising:
the mechanical connection being a plurality of clinch joints.
- 7. The pulley of claim 4, further comprising:
the first and second disks each having a slot in the connection surface that contained the brazing material.
- 8. The pulley of claim 1, further comprising:
the first and second disks being the same.
- 9. A pulley comprising:
a first disk and a second disk, each disk having an interior surface and an opposite exterior surface, each disk having a center hole with a center axis, each disk having a flat connection surface on the interior surface of the disk that extends around the center hole, each disk having a drive surface that extends around the connection surface and is oriented at an angle relative to the connection surface, and the connection surfaces of the first and second disks being secured together by both mechanical connections between the first and second disks and a brazing material interposed between the first and second disks.
- 10. The pulley of claim 9 further comprising:
the mechanical connection being a plurality of clinch joints.
- 11. The pulley of claim 9, further comprising:
the first and second disks each having a cylindrical center hub that extends around the center hole with the hub, the connection surface and the drive surface of each disk being one monolithic piece.
- 12. The pulley of claim 11, further comprising:
the hub, the connection surface and the drive surface of each disk having been formed from a single stamped circular piece of metal.
- 13. The pulley of claim 9 further comprising:
the first and second disks being the same.
- 14. A pulley comprising:
a first disk and a second disk, each disk having an interior surface and an opposite exterior surface, each disk having a center hole with a center axis, each disk having a flat connection surface on the interior surface of the disk that extends around the center hole, each disk having a drive surface that extends around the connection surface and is oriented at an angle relative to the connection surface, the connection surface of the first and second disks being secured together by a brazing material interposed between the first and second disks, and the first and second disks each having a slot in the connection surface that contained the brazing material.
- 15. The pulley of claim 14, further comprising:
the first and second disks each having a cylindrical center hub that extends around the center hole with the hub, the connection surface and the drive surface of each disk being one monolithic piece..
- 16. The pulley of claim 15, further comprising:
the hub, the connection surface and the drive surface of each disk having been formed from a singled stamped circular piece of metal..
- 17. The pulley of claim 14, further comprising:
the first and second disks being the same..
- 18. A method of making a pulley comprising:
providing a first and second circular disk with each disk having an interior surface and an opposite exterior surface; forming a center hole with a center axis through each disk; forming a flat connection surface surrounding the center hole on the interior surface of each disk; forming a drive surface surrounding the connection surface on each disk with the drive surface having an angled orientation relative to the connection surface; holding the first and second disks together with the interior surfaces of the first and second disks opposing each other; and securing the first and second disks together with a brazing material interposed between the first and second disks.
- 19. The method of claim 18, further comprising:
holding the first and second disks together by providing a mechanical connection between the connection surfaces of the first and second disks.
- 20. The method of claim 18, further comprising:
holding the first and second disk together by providing clinch joint connections between the connection surfaces of the first and second disks.
- 21. The method of claim 19, further comprising:
securing the first and second disks together with the brazing material after holding the first and second disks together by providing the mechanical connection between the connection surfaces of the first and second disks.
- 22. The method of claim 21, further comprising:
providing clinch joint connections as the mechanical connection between the connection surfaces of the first and second disks.
- 23. The method of claim 18, further comprising:
forming a slot in the connection surface of each disk; providing a slug of brazing material in each slot; heating the slug of brazing material in each slot causing the brazing material to be interposed between the first and second disks.
