Field of the Disclosure
The disclosure relates to fastener devices and more particularly pertains to a new fastener device for fastening tarps together.
An embodiment of the disclosure meets the needs presented above by generally comprising a male coupler and a female coupler. The male coupler comprises a rod that has a first end and a second end. A knob is coupled to the first end of the rod. A pin is positioned in the rod proximate to the second end. The pin has opposing ends that extend from an outer surface of the rod. The female coupler comprises a tube that has a first terminus and a second terminus. The tube is hollow and complimentary to the rod. A button is coupled to the first terminus of the tube. A pair of slots, complimentary to the pin, is opposingly positioned in a wall of the tube. The slots extend from the second terminus to proximate to the first terminus. Each slot has a channel that extends transversely from a respective bottom of the slot.
There has thus been outlined, rather broadly, the more important features of the disclosure in order that the detailed description thereof that follows may be better understood, and in order that the present contribution to the art may be better appreciated. There are additional features of the disclosure that will be described hereinafter and which will form the subject matter of the claims appended hereto.
The objects of the disclosure, along with the various features of novelty which characterize the disclosure, are pointed out with particularity in the claims annexed to and forming a part of this disclosure.
The disclosure will be better understood and objects other than those set forth above will become apparent when consideration is given to the following detailed description thereof. Such description makes reference to the annexed drawings wherein:
With reference now to the drawings, and in particular to
As best illustrated in
The device 10 also includes a female coupler 32. The female coupler 32 comprises a tube 34 that has a first terminus 36 and a second terminus 38. The tube 34 is hollow and complimentary to the rod 14. The tube 34 is circular when viewed longitudinally, such that the rod 14 is insertable into the tube 34. The tube 34 is insertable through at least two overlapping eyelets positioned in the user's tarps. A button 40 is coupled to the first terminus 36 of the tube 34. The button 40 comprises a second disc 42 that has a rounded perimeter 44 and a flat top 46. A pair of slots 48, complimentary to the pin 28 is opposingly positioned in a wall 50 of the tube 34. The slots 48 extend from the second terminus 38 to proximate to the first terminus 36. Each the slot 48 has a channel 52 that extends transversely from a respective bottom 54 of the slot 48. The channels 52 extend clockwise, such that the slots 48 are L-shaped and such that the pin 28 is frictionally engagable to the channels 52 upon clockwise rotation of the rod 14 relative to the tube 34.
The first disc 22 and the second disc 42 are substantially similarly shaped and dimensioned.
In use, each of a plurality of female couplers 56 is positionable with the tube 34 inserted into at least two overlapping eyelets of the user's tarps. Each of a plurality of male couplers 58 has a respective rod 14 insertable into a respective tube 34, such that the user can impart a clockwise twisting motion to secure a respective pin 28 into a respective channel 52 to secure two or more tarps together.
With respect to the above description then, it is to be realized that the optimum dimensional relationships for the parts of an embodiment enabled by the disclosure, to include variations in size, materials, shape, form, function and manner of operation, assembly and use, are deemed readily apparent and obvious to one skilled in the art, and all equivalent relationships to those illustrated in the drawings and described in the specification are intended to be encompassed by an embodiment of the disclosure.
Therefore, the foregoing is considered as illustrative only of the principles of the disclosure. Further, since numerous modifications and changes will readily occur to those skilled in the art, it is not desired to limit the disclosure to the exact construction and operation shown and described, and accordingly, all suitable modifications and equivalents may be resorted to, falling within the scope of the disclosure. In this patent document, the word “comprising” is used in its non-limiting sense to mean that items following the word are included, but items not specifically mentioned are not excluded. A reference to an element by the indefinite article “a” does not exclude the possibility that more than one of the element is present, unless the context clearly requires that there be only one of the elements.
