Abstract
A tiered container for containing a product. A generally cylindrical first section has a closed bottom end and an open, threaded top end. A generally cylindrical second section has an open threaded bottom end and an open, threaded top end. The bottom end of the generally cylindrical second section is configured to be screwed onto the top end of the generally cylindrical first section and wherein the threaded lid is configured to be screwed onto the top end of the second section to form an assembled container. As product is used from the container, the generally cylindrical second section can be removed, and the threaded lid can be screwed onto the top end of the generally cylindrical first section.
Description
FIELD OF THE DISCLOSURE

This disclosure relates generally to a container, and in particular to a two-tiered screw together container with a lid.


BACKGROUND OF THE DISCLOSURE

Many foods and other products are packaged in containers such as jars. In addition to providing a convenient packaging for delivering the product, the product can be stored in and dispensed directly from the container or jar as the product is used. A threaded lid is typically placed upon and sealed on the top of the container or jar to contain and protect the product before sale, and the lid may be removed and replaced to allow repeated access to the product as the product is used.


Tall containers allow more product to be stored in a container without taking up excessive shelf space. However, the height of a tall container can make it difficult to access product in the lower part of the container. Accessing product from a tall container becomes increasingly difficult as more of the product is used up. Users may experience excessively soiled hands or utensils while trying to access product near the bottom of a container, or may give up on accessing some product, leading to waste.


For the reasons stated above, and for other reasons which will become apparent to those skilled in the art upon reading and understanding the specification, there is a need in the art for an improved container. Thus, it is a primary object of the disclosure to provide a two-tier screw together container with a lid.


These and other objects, features, or advantages of the present disclosure will become apparent from the specification and claims.


BRIEF SUMMARY OF THE DISCLOSURE

The disclosure relates to a two-tier screw together container with a lid. In one arrangement, a first section of the container has a closed bottom and an open top with male threads. A second section of the container has an open bottom with female threads and an open top with male threads. A lid has female threads. The male threads of the open top of the first section are configured to connect to the female threads of the open bottom of the second section or the female threads of the lid. The male threads of the open top of the second section are configured to connect to the female threads of the lid.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION

In the following detailed description of the embodiments, reference is made to the accompanying drawings which form a part hereof, and in which is shown by way of illustration specific preferred embodiments in which the disclosure may be practiced. These embodiments are described in sufficient detail to enable those skilled in the art to practice the disclosure, and it is to be understood that other embodiments may be utilized and that mechanical, procedural, and other changes may be made without departing from the spirit and scope of the present disclosures. The following detailed description is, therefore, not to be taken in a limiting sense, and the scope of the present disclosure is defined only by the appended claims, along with the full scope of equivalents to which such claims are entitled.


As used herein, the terminology such as vertical, horizontal, top, bottom, front, back, end and sides are referenced according to the views presented. It should be understood, however, that the terms are used only for purposes of description and are not intended to be used as limitations. Accordingly, orientation of an object or a combination of objects may change without departing from the scope of the disclosure.


A two-tier screw together container 1 with a lid 300 is disclosed. The two-tier screw together container 1 may be referred to as container 1 or jar 1 without departing from the scope of the disclosure.


As shown in FIGS. 1-7, in one arrangement, container 1 comprises a first section 100. First section 100 may be referred to as lower section 100 or bottom section 100 without departing from the scope of the disclosure. First section 100 may be a generally cylindrical hollow vessel. First section 100 may be constructed from plastic, glass, or any other suitable material. First section 100 has a first end 110 disposed at the bottom of first section 100. The first end 110 may also be referred to as the bottom end 110, lower end 110, or closed end 110 without departing from the scope of the disclosure. First end 110 may comprise a generally circular closed surface. First section 100 further comprises a second end 130 disposed at the top of first section 100. The second end 130 may also be referred to as the top end 130 or open end 130 without departing from the scope of the disclosure. Second end 130 may comprise a generally circular opening having male threads 140 formed on the exterior surface of the first section 100 and extending around the circumference of the opening at the second end 130 of the first section 100. Extending between the first end 110 and the second end 130 are sides 135. Sides 135 acting in conjunction with other components of container 1 are configured to hold and contain the contents of container 1.


As shown in FIGS. 1-7, in one arrangement, container 1 additionally comprises a second section 200. Second section 200 may be referred to as top section 200 or upper section 200 without departing from the scope of the disclosure. Second section 200 may be a generally cylindrical hollow vessel. Second section 200 may be constructed from plastic, glass, or any other suitable material. Second section 200 has a first end 210 disposed at the bottom of second section 200. The first end 210 may also be referred to as the bottom end 210 or lower end 210 without departing from the scope of the disclosure. First end 210 may comprise a generally circular opening having female threads 220 formed on the interior surface of the second section 200 and extending around the circumference of the opening at the first end 210 of the second section 200. Second section 200 further comprises a second end 230 disposed at the top of second section 200. The second end 230 may also be referred to as the top end 230 or upper end 230 without departing from the scope of the disclosure. Second end 230 may comprise a generally circular opening having male threads 240 formed on the exterior surface of the second section 200 and extending around the circumference of the opening at the second end 230 of the second section 200. Extending between the first end 210 and the second end 230 are sides 235. Sides 235 acting in conjunction with other components of container 1 are configured to hold and contain the contents of container 1.


As shown in FIGS. 1-7, in one arrangement, container 1 further comprises a lid 300. Lid 300 may comprise a generally cylindrical shape having female threads 310 formed on the interior surface of lid 300 extending around the circumference of the lid 300. Lid 300 may be constructed from plastic, metal, or any other suitable material.


As shown in FIGS. 2-4, container 1 can be assembled such that the male threads 140 of the open top end 130 of the first section 100 are configured to connect to the female threads 220 of the open bottom end 210 of the second section 200 such that the entirety of the first section 100 and the second section 200 may be filled with a product. The second section 200 connects to the first section 100 by rotating the first section 100 or the second section 200 such that the threads 220 are screwed onto the threads 140. The male threads 240 of the open top end 230 of the second section 200 are configured to connect to the female threads 310 of the lid 300. The lid 300 connects to the threads 240 by rotating the lid 300 such that the threads 310 are screwed onto the threads 240. As product is used from container 1, the second section 200 may be removed by rotating the second section 200 such that the threads 220 are disconnected from the threads 140; thus, making it easier to remove product from the first section 100 by removing the obstacle that would otherwise be posed by the presence of an empty second section 200. Once the second section 200 is removed, the female threads 310 of the lid 300 may be connected to the threads 140 of the open top end 130 of the first section 100 to enclose the remaining product in the container 1.


While container 1 is described as a two-tier screw together container having a first section 100 and a second section 200, the second section 200 may be duplicated one or more times such that a third section, fourth section, or any other number of additional sections are stacked and screwed together one atop another to form a taller jar capable of holding more product By stacking a plurality of sections in this manner, taller containers 1 than could normally be practically used can be achieved.


The circumference of the first section 100 may narrow at the second end 130 relative to the circumference of the sides 135 such that the bottom end 210 of the second section 200 can couple to the top end 130 of the first section 100 without increasing the circumference of the bottom end 210. Similarly, the circumference of the second section 200 may narrow at the second end 230 relative to the circumference of the sides 235 such that the lid 300 can couple to the top end 230 of the second section 200 without increasing the circumference of the lid 300. By narrowing the top ends 130 and 230, the overall circumference of container 1 remains generally uniform all along the height of container 1.


The container 1 has many benefits and advantages including, but not limited to increasing the ease and neatness with which the contents of container 1 can be removed from the container 1 as well as increasing the height of the container 1, thereby increasing the amount of product capable of being held within the container 1, without decreasing the ability to easily remove such product from the container 1. These and other benefits and advantages of the container 1 are apparent from the specification and claims.

Claims
  • 1. A tiered container for containing a product comprising: a generally cylindrical first section having a closed bottom end and an open, threaded top end;a generally cylindrical second section having an open threaded bottom end and an open, threaded top end; anda threaded lid;wherein the bottom end of the generally cylindrical second section is configured to be screwed onto the top end of the generally cylindrical first section and wherein the threaded lid is configured to be screwed onto the top end of the second section to form an assembled container.
  • 2. The container of claim 1 wherein the second section is configured to be removed and the threaded lid is configured to be screwed onto the top end of the first section.
  • 3. The container of claim 1 wherein the top end of the first section and the top end of the second section narrow in circumference such that the assembled container has a generally uniform circumference along a height that extends from the bottom end of the first section to the lid.
  • 4. The container of claim 1 further comprising additional generally cylindrical sections, each additional generally cylindrical section having an open threaded bottom end and an open, threaded top end, and wherein the bottom end of each additional generally cylindrical section can be screwed onto the top end of another generally cylindrical section.
