Abstract
The head rest pillow for chairs is the only product of its kind that is specifically developed to be added onto chairs to ensure users are able to relax, sleep, or relieve any neck tension while sitting on a chair. This unprecedented product is uniquely designed with a plush pillow and durable clamps and locking hinges to ensure long term sustainability and functionality.
Description
BACKGROUND

For certain occupations, a shift work schedule is common but the irregular hours of the shifts can take a toll on an employee's sleep, mood, and overall health. Shift workers who are sleep deprived are also more prone to errors and accidents at the workplace. To alleviate some of the consequences from the lack of sleep, some employees will opt to take a quick nap during their break time while sitting in their work chairs; yet, this improper sleeping position can trigger a stiff, sore neck, and can also lead to back pain along with other issues. There have been no products available as original equipment or as an aftermarket to address this problem.

An apparatus to help with proper head positioning while resting in a chair thus alleviating stiff and sore necks is not being met by any known device or system at present. There have been no products available as original equipment or as an aftermarket to address this problem either.

SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

The main purpose of the u-shaped headrest is to provide users with an attachable U-shaped headrest cushion for chairs to allow for a more relaxing and comfortable sleep position, while seated.

The disclosure includes a head rest for a chair, the head rest comprising a left clamp and a right clamp each comprising a short front jaw and a long back jaw and a frame thereof. The disclosure also includes a telescoping bar extending from each respective frame of the left clamp and the right clamp. The disclosure further includes a locking hinge configured to connect each respective telescoping bar to a “U” shaped head rest pillow.

BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS

FIG. 1 is a is a front elevational view of the u-shaped headrest apparatus in accordance with an embodiment of the present disclosure.

Throughout the description, similar reference numbers may be used to identify similar elements depicted in multiple embodiments. Although specific embodiments of the invention have been described and illustrated, the invention is not to be limited to the specific forms or arrangements of parts so described and illustrated. The scope of the invention is to be defined by the claims appended hereto and their equivalents.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION

Reference will now be made to exemplary embodiments illustrated in the drawings and specific language will be used herein to describe the same. It will nevertheless be understood that no limitation of the scope of the disclosure is thereby intended. Alterations and further modifications of the inventive features illustrated herein and additional applications of the principles of the inventions as illustrated herein, which would occur to one skilled in the relevant art and having possession of this disclosure, are to be considered within the scope of the invention.

FIG. 1 is a front elevational view of the u-shaped headrest showing: head rest (travel pillow style) pillow referenced as A, a plastic support B, locking hinges C to recline headrest pillow A, adjustable extenders referenced as D, short front jaws to a left and a right clamps referenced as E, long back jaws to the left and the right clamps referenced as F and the seat back G in accordance with an embodiment of the present disclosure. The rotational arrow and the vertical up and down arrow are indicative of degrees of movement of respective hinges C and the adjustable extenders, also known as telescoping bars.

The present disclosed u-shaped headrest, also known as the “Head Rest Pillow For Chairs” offers a modem accessory that supports the neck area to ensure individuals are able to have more restful sleep while sitting on a standard chair. Expanding on the initial design of a travel pillow, the head rest pillow for chairs introduces a novel headrest attachment that possesses reclining locking hinges. To attach the U-shaped device, users can clamp it onto the designated chair, which as a result will provide them with a comfortable area to lay their head and neck upon to eliminate any tension and discomfort that would otherwise occur while attempting to sleep, when sitting in a work or causal chair. To further enhance functionality, users can also recline the headrest and adjust its height through the extenders to guarantee maximum comfort. The head rest pillow for chairs ensures a fully operational and easy to use attachable headrest that can be placed on any and all chair designs.

Although the operations of the method(s) herein are shown and described in a particular order, the order of the operations of each method may be altered so that certain operations may be performed in an inverse order or so that certain operations may be performed, at least in part, concurrently with other operations. In another embodiment, instructions or sub-operations of distinct operations may be implemented in an intermittent and/or alternating manner.
