Claims
- 1. An ultra mild skin cleansing composition comprising:
- a) from 10% to 80% by weight of said composition of an ultra mild, good foaming surfactant consisting essentially of an alkyl glyceryl ether sulfonate surfactant having a hydrophobic group which contains an alkyl chain of 8 carbon atoms; and wherein said alkyl glyceryl ether sulfonate surfactant has a Relative Skin Barrier Destructive Value of from about 0.1 to about 0.9;
- b) from 10% to 40% by weight of said composition of a moisturizer;
- c) from 0.1% to 5% by weight of said composition of a polymeric skin feel aid; and
- d) from 5% to 25% by weight of said composition of soap.
- 2. An ultra mild skin cleansing composition according to claim 1 which further comprises from 5% to 30% by weight of a foam enhancer based on the weight of surfactant in the composition.
- 3. An ultra mild skin cleansing composition according to claim 2 wherein the foam enhancer is selected from the group consisting of alkyl polyglycoside detergents, amine oxide detergents, fatty acid alkanolamides, betaines, water-soluble halide salts, and C.sub.8 alkyl glyceryl ether sulfonate acetone solubles.
- 4. An ultra mild skin cleansing composition according to claim 3 which comprises from 20% to 50% by weight of said composition of an ultra mild, good foaming surfactant consisting essentially of an alkyl glyceryl ether sulfonate surfactant having a hydrophobic group which contains an alkyl chain of 8 carbon atoms; and wherein said alkyl glyceryl ether sulfonate surfactant has a Relative Skin Barrier Destructive Value of from about 0.1 to about 0.9.
- 5. An ultra mild skin cleansing composition according to claim 4 wherein said alkyl glyceryl ether sulfonate surfactant has a Relative Skin Barrier Destructive Value of from about 0.1 to about 0.5.
- 6. An ultra mild skin cleansing composition according to claim 5 wherein the weight ratio of said alkyl glyceryl ether sulfonate surfactant to soap ranges from 2:1 to 12:1.
