Claims
- 1. An ultrasonic surgical system comprising:
an ultrasonic treatment device having an ultrasonic transducer incorporated therein, a treatment unit that treats an object while providing ultrasonic waves provided from the ultrasonic transducer, and a connector that receives a driving. signal for driving the ultrasonic transducer; a main unit including a driving signal generator for generating a driving signal to oscillate and drive the ultrasonic transducer in the ultrasonic treatment device, an output unit for outputting the driving signal generated from the driving signal generator and supplied to the ultrasonic transducer in the ultrasonic treatment device, a control unit for controlling the driving signal generator according to an input manipulation signal, and a manipulation signal input unit for inputting the manipulation signal; a first manipulation signal generator for generating the manipulation signal; a second manipulation signal generator for generating the manipulation signal; and an extension unit to which the first manipulation signal generator and the second manipulation signal generator are connected respectively and including a first input unit for inputting the manipulation signal generated from the first manipulation signal generator, a second input unit for inputting the manipulation signal generated from the second manipulation signal generator, and an output device for outputting the manipulation signal generated from the first or second manipulation signal generator to the manipulation signal input unit of the main unit.
- 2. An ultrasonic surgical system according to claim 1,
wherein the ultrasonic treatment device consists of an elongated sheath, an operation unit coupled to a proximal end of the sheath, and a treatment unit located adjacent a distal part of the sheath, and includes a probe for propagating the ultrasonic waves stemming from the ultrasonic transducer incorporated to the treatment unit.
- 3. An ultrasonic surgical system according to claim 1,
wherein the ultrasonic treatment device comprises an operation unit at a proximal end thereof, an armor having a guide hole that extends in the axial direction, and a needle which is elongated and of which a distal end is pointed and passed through the guide hole of the armor, the needle piercing the wall of a body cavity while propagating ultrasonic oscillations stemming from the ultrasonic transducer.
- 4. An ultrasonic surgical system according to claim 1,
wherein the first manipulation signal generator is a hand switch that is detachably attached to the ultrasonic treatment device and the second manipulation signal generator is a foot switch.
- 5. An ultrasonic surgical system according to claim 4,
wherein the main unit includes a switch sense circuit that detects a signal sent from the hand switch or the foot switch via the extension unit and the control unit outputs a control signal according to a signal output from the switch sense circuit, an oscillation circuit that drives the ultrasonic transducer incorporated in the ultrasonic treatment device according to the control signal output from the control unit, and a connector portion for connecting the ultrasonic treatment device thereto.
- 6. An ultrasonic surgical system according to claim 4,
wherein the extension unit has a hand switch connector portion to which is joined a hand switch connector linked to the hand switch and a foot switch connector portion to which is joined a foot switch connector linked to the foot switch, a manipulation signal generator for detecting an on-state or off-state signal provided from the hand switch or the foot switch and producing a manipulation signal, and a connector used to transmit the signal produced by the manipulation signal generator to the main unit.
- 7. An ultrasonic surgical system according to claim 6,
wherein the manipulation signal generator is composed of an OR circuit and analog switches.
- 8. An ultrasonic surgical system according to claim 6,
wherein the manipulation signal generator includes photocouplers that electrically separate and isolate the hand switch or the foot switch from the main unit while transmitting signals.
