Claims
- 1. A combination comprising:
- a truck bed having a floor, a front wall and two opposing side walls, each side wall having a lipped end portion, a channel defined between said lipped end portion and said side wall;
- a liner adapted to be received on said truck bed, said liner member having a bottom, a front wall and two opposing liner side walls, said opposing liner side walls respectively associated with said truck bed side walls, said liner side walls each having a first and second vertical end, said first vertical end of each liner side wall connected to said liner bottom and said second vertical end of each liner side wall having a resilient portion, said resilient portion received in said channel, said resilient portion being of a dimension in at least one direction greater than a clearance provided in said channel, such that said resilient portion is deformed and retained in its deformed position within said channel, said resilient portion of each said liner side wall urging its associated liner side wall against its respectively associated truck bed side wall and against said truck bed floor wherein said urging acts to retain said liner within said truck bed.
- 2. The liner of claim 1, wherein said resilient portion is a removable tab which snaps into a tab channel on said bed liner.
- 3. The liner of claim 2, wherein there are a pair of said tabs associated with each said liner side wall.
- 4. The liner of claim 2, wherein said tab channel is formed on said liner side wall, said tab channel extending laterally inwardly from the remainder of said liner side wall, said tab channel having a lower portion angle inwardly and a middle portion extending generally parallel to the remainder of said liner side wall, and a channel top portion extending generally parallel to said middle portion, but spaced laterally outwardly from said middle portion, and said tab having an upper portion which snaps over said channel top portion.
- 5. The liner of claim 4, wherein said tab top portion having a hook portion spaced beneath said channel top portion and laterally outwardly of said liner side wall, and which extends laterally toward said liner side wall.
- 6. A protective liner for a truck bed comprising:
- a liner member adapted to be received on a truck bed, said liner member having a bottom, a front wall and two opposing side walls, said opposing liner side walls respectively adapted to cover truck bed side walls, said liner side walls each having first and second vertical ends, said first vertical end of each said liner side wall connected to said liner bottom and said second vertical end of each said liner side wall having a resilient tab portion;
- said resilient tab portion being formed separately from said liner, and being removable from said liner for replacement; and
- said resilient portion adapted to urge an associated liner side wall against a respectively associated truck bed side wall and against a truck bed floor to retain said liner within a truck bed.
- 7. The liner of claim 6, wherein said tab is snapped over the lateral extent of said liner side wall such that said resilient tab portion has portions both laterally inwardly and laterally outwardly of said liner side wall.
- 8. The liner as recited in claim 7, wherein said tab is received on a tab channel formed on said liner side wall, said tab channel extending laterally inwardly from the remainder of said liner side wall, said tab channel having a lower portion angled inwardly and a middle portion extending generally parallel to the remainder of said liner side wall, and a channel top portion extending generally parallel to said middle portion, but spaced laterally outwardly from said middle portion, and said tab having an upper portion which snaps over said channel top portion.
- 9. The liner of claim 8, wherein said tab portion having a hook portion spaced beneath said channel top portion and laterally outwardly of said liner side wall, and which extends laterally toward said liner side wall.
- 10. The liner of claim 6, wherein said tab having a finger extending laterally inwardly at an angle relative to said liner side wall, said finger extending to a distance greater than a dimension provided by a channel within a truck bed side wall, such that said finger is deformed when said liner is received within a truck bed.
- 11. The liner of claim 10, wherein said finger extends for a greater vertical distance in use than the channel within the truck bed side wall such that said finger is deformed.
