BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
This invention pertains to devices that provide a holder for storing and carrying portable electronic devices and other personal items. Past inventions have demonstrated a variety of carrying cases for personal electronic devices and other personal items. These references do not provide the convenience and versatility of the invention presented herein.
BRIEF SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION
This invention depicted herein consists of a multi-compartment pouch which can comfortably conform to the shape of the wearer's torso and be secured in place by multi-position straps.
Said straps can be alternatively mounted by the user as shoulder only or shoulder/waist straps. A removable multi-compartment secondary pouch can be mounted onto any of these straps or as separate carrying case. It features a window to allow viewing and operation of personal electronic devices placed therein. Pouches feature flaps for securing items within the compartments. For added convenience, the entire unit is reversible for wearing on either side of the torso.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION
FIGS. 1 and 6 depict views of the unworn invention and present the preferred embodiment of the device. Nothing contained in this description is intended to construe limitations to the scope of this invention. The device can be constructed from virtually any material, but is preferably made of flexible materials such as leather, fabric, vinyl or a combination thereof. U-shaped lower pouch 2 consists of a plurality of sheets of flexible material bonded together in such a fashion as to yield inner voids that form a plurality of lower compartments 32 in its horizontal member. Said compartments are covered by lower flap 16, which is positioned between the obverse and reverse faces of lower pouch 2. The obverse and reverse faces of the lower pouch feature pencil/pen holders 14. Attachment ring 26 is attached to each terminal end of the vertical members of lower pouch 2. The anterior ends of main strap 6 and secondary strap 8 are connected to attachment rings 26 via securing means 28 such as Velcro®, buttons, clips, snaps or any other similar means on its terminal ends. The primary vertical member of lower pouch 2 features a demountable upper pouch 4 consisting of a plurality of sheets of flexible material bonded together in such a fashion as to yield inner voids that form a plurality of upper compartments 30. Said compartments are covered by upper flap 10.
Window 12 within the obverse face of upper pouch 4 allows viewing of contents in upper compartment 30, such as a cell phone or PDA display. In the preferred embodiment, upper pouch can be either permanently affixed onto the upper vertical member pouch 4, or configured as a removable structure as shown in FIGS. 5 and 6. The removable upper pouch 4 features loop 22 on its revere face of sufficient dimension to allow said loop to slide over main strap 6. Securing means 36 attached to loop 22 allows upper pouch to be held securely in place onto the strap it is mounted upon. The secondary vertical member of lower pouch 2 features attachment ring 26 at its terminal end which engages the posterior end of main strap 6. Closures 20 can consist of Velcro®, buttons, snaps or any other similar means. Closures 20 are positioned on upper and lower pouch flaps to engage closures 20 on outer faces of upper and lower pouches. Main strap 6 is connected between the vertical members of lower pouch 2 via attachment rings 26 which are permanently attached to the terminal ends of said vertical members. Secondary strap 8 can be alternatively attached between attachment rings 26 or between waist strap rings 34 which are affixed at the lower corners of lower pouch 2. Said straps feature a securing means 28 such at their terminal ends.
This invention can be worn on either the left or right side of the torso at the discretion of the user by using either the reverse or obverse face. The configuration of device provides pencil/pen holders 14 and lower pouch 2 accessibility on both the obverse and reverse faces of the device. Lower pouch flap 16 can be selectively closed over either the obverse or reverse face of lower pouch pocket 2, which can be secured while closed via closures 20. Main strap 6 is placed around the wearer's shoulder. Secondary strap 8 can be draped across the opposite shoulder or torso by attaching its terminal ends to attachment rings 26. A third position is possible by draping secondary strap 8 around the waist and securing its terminal ends onto waist strap rings 34 via securing means 28 (FIG. 1). Main and secondary straps can be adjusted for length using securing means 28 at their terminal ends or via adjustment buckles 18. In the embodiment that provides for the upper pouch 4 to be removable from main strap 6, user can slide attachment loop 22 away from said strap. This allows upper pouch 4 to be utilized separately as a carry case or secured to a belt, purse or luggage strap via attachment loop 22 and securing means 36.
